Considering the size of this game why is the instruction book so small and the only information in it is the controller layout and nothing else, what about elements, currency's reputation, egos, perks, enemy types, effects, need I go on???

Most games these days are doing away with paper booklets in favor of in game or online manual

Long gone are days of reading a game manual (or Nintendo Power) on the throne.

8 PAGES???? How difficult is this game thats triple the size of other booklets. Pre-order cancelled.

lol. Seriously though, thats actually more than most other booklets including the other language pages. The XCOM manual has 8 pages IIRC but half are in French.

Must games also have tutorial level to get the player use to the mechanics of the game..

I would think a game of this size need a full blown strategy guide for the scale.

It suxs but I was one of the guys who had to read the manual before playing a especially RPG books because sometimes there is information thats only in the book. But not since those days are gone and you lucky if you get a manual with more then 4 pages.

When I was a kid , loved reading the manuals of a newly bought game on the bus home from the shop. When I got older the manuals became great reading material when you were doing a dump .

Now they are just like junk mail instantly thrown into the bin.

There is a menu in the game that has help tutorials and this is what most games are going to since its easier to teach with visual than it is with words for alot of people.

HAHA I agree with the op,kinda sick of haven a laptop on my lap while I play and pause.Granted most the time that's cuz Im chasen cheats but still fits.Atleast something that explains basics like currency, stats and effect.Game tuts only teach you mechanics.

Considering most games today only come with the little pagelet about seizure warnings...this is quite a step up.

Once you're ingame hit Start/Back on the controller, then hold the left trigger, then select Intel and press A. Voila, full manual. At least those were the controls in the beta, the release version might change a little.

Maybe it's a money thing? Most games now have a guide book you can buy. I never read the manuals anyway so it doesn't really bother me...
