Like the topic says, instead of nerfing the whole game...

Why not simply add new "gold" tier of items to the game - with set bonuses, eg: weapon + weapon + shield of same set gives a set bonus.

No need for new art assets. Would not disrupt/annoy players... and adds a long and fulfilling chase for something *NEW*.

These items should *ONLY* be gained through major event boss kills (or possibly some through new story/coop missions). Never in a lock box. You could, however, sell store boosts to increase drop quality chance by say 20% and 50%.

theres so many outstanding issues with the game, why would you really want a new tier of loot? really, the track record of patches/updates/dlc that hasnt broken something else in game is not good. just try to imagine the problems a new tier of loot would have.

on the upside, they did introduce new synergies, which have yet to be proven to all work correctly, and are easily obtainable with a million scrip. happy hunting

Although the game is indeed a mess in it's current state, it wouldnt be the first time that a team of dev's would choose to add a new tier of weaponry into a game.

Great example, again, being Borderlands 2. After people playing the full game for months and months and acquiring every legendary they wanted Gearbox simply added pink Seraph-gear in 'vendors' which could only be purchased with Seraph-chrystals. These Seraph-chrystals could only be acquired by defeating Raid-bosses in DLC's! So for the new weapons people had to purchase the DLC's and had to kill Raid-bosses (in a fair fight btw!). A Genius move.

After that they added Pearlescent weapons in the latest DLC they brought out, Digistruct Peak. You simply HAD to kill that last boss to get such a weapon to drop, which took a fight through the whole of Digistruct Peak on the highest of the 8 possible levels. A good 30-45 minutes of play to get the reward. BUT you were guaranteed a reward as it was certain to drop a Pearlescent weapon upon defeating the giant Robot. Yes, i ran Digistruct Peak a gazillion times to collect them all!

im really curious, so i gotta ask...

how many times did you crit out of digistruct peak? how many times did gearbox give you pearlescent weapons, then nerf the game so you only got orange? how many times did you kill a raid boss, disconnect, and get no rewards for your time? how many times did you find a (legitimate) way to obtain something in game, and gearbox took it away from you?

Please do something for ur players of ur game. Untill then people will boycott your in game defiance store. People reading this please get ur clan and members on this. The real reason why the game is the way it is its because of the money people, we all have put money into defiance.

You didn't have to do digistruct peak for pearls. You could've went LLM farming. I got over 100 pearls from those boxes.

Loot power creep is part of all MMO games.

Each DLC and season should provide a new "gold" tier set for players to grind for.
