Hate the lag.

Group events are awesome now when I am lucky enough to not lag out.

My son built it for me and he named it THE_BEAST.

I talked about defiance for a while so I think this post could stay here so some of the few friends I have left here can get a chance to see it. I have been playing with it for almost a week and it's AWESOME!

Okay in no particular order,

Maximus VII hero motherboard

Corsair AX760i power supply

Corsair H110 liquid cpu cooler

Intel core i7-479k cpu

EVGA GTX 780Ti video card

32 gig of some hot **** ram with two little iluminated cooling fans.

Samsung blu-ray drive.

OD medium size case that looks very cool.

1 terabyte sshd

2, 4 terabyte hd

Windows 8.1 pro OS

Thats all I can think of right now. I might be forgetting something.

He ran some online benchmarks and it scored in the 99% on them all.

Good stuff there... How does it run on "high" (including shadows) in big events? Shadows make the game a bit cooler but my fps will drop to 30... with these specs...

Intel Core i5 3570K 3,4Ghz (Ivy Bridge)
Radeon™ HD 7950 3G DDR5
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

PS:How old is your son?

He's 32. Lives with me. Did a tour in Iraq and was disabled during his tour in Afghanistan. Army Intel attached to special forces.

hey i have the same case! i like it a lot. what did you do with the fan mounts in the side panel? i just taped them up because i didn't want dust coming in and it seemed overkill to have so many fans (there's 11 in there if you count the two on the vga, 1 in the psu).

the only gripe i have is having to remove both side panels and the front to get at the front dust screen. i love the front panel though, that flip button is cool as heck.

only mistake atleast gaming wise is windows 8 and even more of a problem is it being 8.1.
User interface wise it is a far superior OS but if you have any type of problem it is a pain in the *** to fix it. Have used a windows 7 compared to a windows 8 and 8.1 with similar specs and there is definitely some minor problems that will arise.

Nice rig but you have a slight problem. Those corsair fans in front of the hard drives are supposed to be mounted on the radiator of the water cooler to help cool the water as it passses throught the radiator. In addition to helping cool the chassis too.

In order to use the h110 you need a full size tower or a specialized mid size case. Simply because there isn't enough room otherwise.

I would see if he can return it for something like the h80i that can be mounted in the back. I just went through all this myself and ended up getting 2 bad water coolers. Luckily the local Tigerdirect is super easy for exchanges.

i have the same case and either that cooler is 2-inches thick or the fans are sandwiched between the radiator and the top.

That radiator is enormous but I hope you are right and I just can't see it. Seeing those corsair fans made me think otherwise. Would be a shame to see his new beast have end up having a problem because of it.

Not even impressed/10

Anyone can throw money at parts any one can assemble a plug and play PC.

Worst of all...you use that power to play Defiance. It's your choice.

My 190+ steam games says you're a bit out of touch with your comments, but whatever.

Very nice build Bonehead
Your son does nice work and I love the cable management on that case.

I built my new rig back in March and was running a 4 year old AMD before upgrading to my Intel/Nvidia rig. It brought a tear to my eye when I saw the performance increase.

Enjoy man!
