Pulled this little guy from a T4 lockbox yesterday in the midst of all the hulker madness. Just need to grind or buy (WTB!) a T5 crit barrel and settle on a mag and I'm set. Syn and oj rolls seem useless but I'm interested in what other BASR users think of the nano. Am I better off slapping a rad converter on it or just going full fire with perks and a regular mag mod? Seems like fire would be acceptable against anything that isn't a Volge.

The crit rolls are great. Firerate doesn't help much on a BA, but then you can't help what rolls you got stuck with. I prefer either no-nano so the extra damage or Rad on my snipers, but fire can be nice.

That's a decent one. Keep it fire and use Conflagration. Flash Point only if you fight Volge/DM/99ers/Pvp often. Also Keep Effect Trigger 10%, it's more worth it than mag+

Though I must say bolt action SRs are meh. Any semi auto is far better than that with the same rolls, go for custom 'headshot' bolter if you're into bolt actions. They fire twice as much faster and have a lot higher crit mult (5.7 with a T4 mod and mastery) and a smal dmg reduction compared to Bolt actions.

(I'm trading one in EU if you're interested)

I'm in NA but thank you for offering!

For ergonomic reasons I try to stick with full auto or bolt action guns in most games. Semi autos get a bit too clicky, but they are definitely more useful in the more chaotic fights so I have a couple favorited for those.

I like BA-SR more than SA-SR in PVE. If you are going to use it for all kinds of PVE I would recommend a Rad mod to deal equally against shielded and unshielded. If you are gonna keep it only to fight unshielded, I would switch the mod for a reload speed mag instead because the whole point of the Bolt action is to One Shot KO so the nanoeffect doesn't get that much chance to trigger, unless you are landing bodyshots (and given the case, the fire nano would still award an insta kill, so the trigger chance is wasted anyway).

I highly suggest you do not use it in PvP and leave it as Fire. The point of the BASR is shoot to crit, not maim. Since you're going to crit, you want to go with the nano that will deliver the highest damage output possible. Even on shielded enemies, most of the time Fire will tear through their shield and get at that whole health bar like a pro. As for the Mag slot, you'd have to ultimately go with what you feel the weapon is lacking.

Thanks for the input everyone. Up to 5.3 crit with a T5 barrel now. Works great against anything that can be critted. I usually run AR+detonator in volge sieges but I took my stealth loadout (with oj hellfire blaster as secondary) in this time. Seems to work great against viscera and particularly bombers. Troopers are going to take a bit more practice, I'm a bit rusty.

Might not get the same score as a crowd control or full auto setup but it's at least viable and a fun change of pace.
