I'm one of the founders for Parallax (http://parallaxgaming.com), a multi-game community based out of North America -- more specifically, the East Coast. Currently, our focus is centered on titles such as Defiance, DayZ, Minecraft, Path of Exile, and Dota 2, but we all enjoy a wide variety of games and genres. Jumping into something new is as simple as grabbing a few other members in TeamSpeak.

Parallax itself is in its infancy, but many of our members have played alongside one another for almost a decade. Originally, we came together within the competitive scene for America's Army -- a game and experience we still romanticize. Later, in 2007, we founded a successful community and began competing in a variety of games. Between then and now, we've transitioned through a number of titles including Counter Strike 1.6, Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead, and Trion's Rift, thriving on the competitive stage while also enjoying the casual aspects.

Our goal isn't to become a massive cybersports conglomerate with hundreds upon hundreds of members and our we don't have an exhaustive list of unnecessary requirements. We're content with a close-knit group of a few dozen friends. Simply have a mic (or plan to buy one soon), be friendly and be active.

We want to invite energetic and enjoyable people to be a part of our community. This isn't meant to be a one-time invitation, open only to Defiance players or while the game exists. Our website is new and fresh, but we, as a group, have been around for a long time. We don't enjoy drama and we don't care for highly-detailed rank structures. Ultimately, there is an extremely capable and experienced leadership group charged with implementing community changes and making decisions, but everyone has a voice and the channels for communication are constantly open.

If you're at all interested, please visit our website (http://parallaxgaming.com), register, and tell us a little about yourself by submitting an application (http://parallaxgaming.com/forms.php?do=form&fid=2). There's no extensive waiting period or series of hoops to jump through in order to become a member; simply join us in TeamSpeak, interact with other members, and allow us a little bit of time to get to know you.

For any Ark Hunters in the US, have a safe and happy President's Day. Just a reminder that there is a little less than 52 hours left in our event giveaway (alpha codes & game preorder). See our forums (http://parallaxgaming.com/showthread.php?50-Defiance-Code-Giveaway) for more details. If you're a PC gamer, and looking for a dedicated community for this game and more, consider filling out an application and jumping in to TeamSpeak (ts3server://

I see you guys are primarily based on the east coast. How active is your group after 10:00pm EST on any given night? I'm interested in applying, but I'm on the west coast and don't usually get online until later in the evenings.

I think we've had a fair amount of guys up and playing until 1AM almost every night this week. During the week, anything beyond that is a bit hit or miss; the weekends we have guys up very late though.

Over the past few weeks, we've had some solid applicants and a few full fledged members added to the fold. Thanks for the support and happy to see quality among the rapid growth.

Well I have completed my application form, and I apologize for the rambling bit at the end. The in game name does not match the forum name here hope that is ok.

We have a good number of applications and we're really excited for the launch here in a few weeks. TeamSpeak hostname was recently updated but IP has remained the same. Thanks!

Added my app. Its a little vague but hope you get the gist. I'm sure I can be a great asset to your community.
