I was wondering if theres a cap on critical multipliers in pve & if so what are they for the current collection of weapon types? ie Wolfhound & VBI AR based guns. Including precision intensifier chip and Mercenary's precision keystone bonuses.

i'm no dev, but i'm fairly certain there is no cap.
i've broken 2.3million damage with my wildcat during RollingBlackout against the forges.

Old rolled vbi AR's had a cap of 2.9 crit mult with 3x crit, 2/4 assassin, and a 1.3 RT Ionic barrel.

Yes back then we where remiss to put in effort for more crit..
but what about now?

I've got my wolfhound over 8.3 crit now..... not so sure on the AR's tho..

I'd guesstimate that with a supreme 1.15 crit mastery old rolled ars could possibly get up to 3.0. New ones can possibly get up to around the same with through some of the new synergies that have 10% crit instead of the 6%.

PS- Don't forget there may be a few 4x crit ARs out there with rolls like this.

W- .25 crit
G- .15 crit
BL- .25 crit

I have an old old old AR with the white and green with assassin so if the blue can be rolled to crit then it's a perfect candidate for that scenario.

The Miasma goes to a 8.8 crit with supreme, supreme crit mastery, t5 critical force & a x1.20 crit rig like I have.

The point of the thread, me & him had a convo, he was told there's a 2.8 crit cap on vbi ars, no matter what exp: t6 vbi at w base 1.6, add t6 crit, add purge syn 6%, add 1.25 brl, add 1.15 mstry so 1.6 plus 81% is 2.9, say you put 1.3 brl, and then as he mentioned add in chips, you'd prob reach upwards of 3.2-3.3

1.6 plus 6% plus 30 % plus 35% plus 12% from chips plus 15% is 3.2crit

The math depends on how Trion does rounding but this is the same exercise that I went through a while back when I decided to pick up a Shrilltech AR. I had picked up a T4 Rolling Thunder Crit barrel and decided to mod & roll a VBI-type AR with a x3.0 Crit that did not include help from cyber chips as a project.

The good news was someone that I know had what I was looking for and was actually willing to trade it. The bad news was that it was so well rolled and modded I couldn't bring myself to put the Rolling Thunder barrel on it because it would have ruined it:

Supreme Crit
OJ Damage
Blue Recoil
Green Fire Rate
White Reload
Fully T5'd to synergy = w/Crit barrel
Fire Nano

The only thing that it needed was the Crit mastery which it still needs, but I expect that when I do the card stats will show it at x2.9 Crit. I also have a rig with 6 purple Precision Intensifier chips on it so I imagine that it will put the Crit at x3.0 - x3.1. When the cost of re-masteries goes down next week I plan on trying to re-master it again. If I succeed I'll post some caps of the card stats (side note: I hate having to use my phone to take pics in game. The PS3 has the ability to take screen caps but Trion didn't take advantage of it.)

Who told him that? I'm guessing it was an unreliable and uninformed source.

As a test not to long ago I ust a Shrilltech AR with T5 crit, T5 crit mastery & aT5 Ionic. With 4 crit chips it hit 2.9. Tried 6 crit chips & it stayed at 2.9. Was going by what I saw & not what was told to me. Easiest way is to try it like that. Now I have a Merc keystone so I should be able see the cap on any gun. Just need a few chip pullers so I can add the rest of my precision intensifiers to my rig. Currently it has 3 & the Merc keystone.

You can get that crit a tad higher if you reroll for Crit From The Hip :)

But the crit from the hip doesn't show on card. I rather it show up on card.

The answer to the OPs question is No. There is no cap, only the maximum amount currently obtainable with everything possible being used. I think the only real "Hard cap" we have now is the 0.5 reload cap which applies to all weapons.

Hope that answers your question.
