Just started back playing after 3 years hiatus, there was not much on the map so I selected co-op quick match.
At the end a player was using profanity towards me and told me to go to t2? Not sure if he meant season 2, I have played season two and I'm always alone in co-op. My level is not that high and I have played with co-op quick match yesterday and was with 4k plus players much higher than myself.

Thank your help.

Since there is no responses let me ask the question differently, if your over 1k ego you should no longer use the quick co-op? As the individual was very angry yesterday, shooting at me in the match and using profanity.

There's been no replys because we're all just as confused as you.

The only thing that I can think of for them to act hostile towards you is that they had someone running the map and that you qued up a cut scene from interacting with a data tag or something...idk ...still inexcusable behavior on their behalf.

What map qued up?

There is never a good or reasonable answer to behavior like that. If the player was mad because they felt you were dragging down the play (and suggesting you should play at a lower threat level), then that player should have assisted you and acted like a teammate. It's called a co'op for a reason. Ignore it and be glad you don't live with him / her. :cool:

I had a higher ego and of course I did get the victory, I don't remember the map name. I did not run ahead and was behind several times as I like to explore. It was the map where you have a core you escort on the map. He called me a piece of *** and ruining the game. I always like co-op in the past I guess I will just bow out if the delta is to large between ego. I actually took a video of it as I don't remember in the past people getting mad over ego differences.

Yes, I think most would agree... I always think the most important thing for teamwork here is...communication. If people are rude and tell you to do something but won't or can't explain...they are the ones at fault.

Maybe T2 is like "Hell" to the kids of today (green weapons etc)... so "go to T2" is like "go to Hell"?! :eek:
Maybe they were referring to Terminal 2 or something (no idea really)?

I believe what the "abusive player" was referring to, was that you should have chosen the lower tier difficulty. I'm assuming you were in the mid-level tier as, unless you're 5k EGO, you can't join an expert co-op unless grouped properly.

That being said, the best way to avoid this in the future, is to run co-ops with a group of friends. A lot of higher EGO players are simply doing most of the co-ops for the daily/weekly contracts and have run the maps hundreds of times. They just want to get to the end as quickly as possible. However, this does not excuse or condone their abusive behavior. I generally mute ppl like that so that I won't have to worry about getting stuck into a group with them again.

I checked my video he said why did I come to t1 and ruin everything and that I need to be playing t2. I did not responds as I had no idea what he was saying, as I just selected the co-op quick join function.

He may have misunderstood how co-op works and thought having a higher ego player there would raise the threat level. Jerk either way. Try not to let it get to you. Most people are pretty friendly as long as you show you're trying. Most.
But do have to admit the few that aren't do sometimes make me feel like never doing PUGs again.

I have no idea but T2 (Terminator 2) is one of the best movies of all time. My question though is how do you do Co-Op solo? I'm always having to join others and it's BS because I'm usually at some low Ego map while other people are Ego 5000+. How come they don't get scaled down like me? My first obvious guess is they're in a party but why does that allow them to keep their rank?

Yeah I didn't reply earlier bc I had no idea what they were referring to.

That said, pretty much echo what Sevrin stated.

Find a few friends or clan (like Cronus) to team up with and don't let them drag you down. Happy Hunting!

So I tried to do a couple co-ops yesterday for the weeklies, liberate the lost and cronkite. No one was queuing up for those so I went to quick match. It gives you the option of 3 different difficulty levels to choose from, I just wanted to do something so I chose the first tier. Since my character was over 5k his Ego rating got capped at 1500 and the threat level for the co-op game was at 3. The other players in the group were all around 400-500 ego. We finished the co-op without much issue and no one really spoke or complained.

Sucks to hear that you ran into a bunch of rude people who have no idea how to play the game cooperatively. Keep on playing and you should run into those types of players less and less, there are a lot of helpful people who play this game that I am sure you will run into in no time that can help you out without cussing you out.

As a 5k I can confirm we do get scaled down in lower level co-op. We're put down to 1500 for 1k co-op maps. It just doesn't show up in the party menu. That only shows everyone's unscaled ego.

I just checked it gives me one option which is standard - 1000.

That's good to know I do see my ego at 1500, I'm right above 2k. So technically I was only 600 above the other player then.

I always want to play with others in a co-op, but seem to be put in situation by myself. How does that happen when it's supposed to be co-op?

That's weird, I am usually waiting all day for 3 more players to join. I would have loved to just go into the co-op game by myself to start and then let the other players join in whenever they decide to pick that mission.

T1 = standard
T2 = advanced
T3 = expert
That's what I'm thinking, but who knows. Either way you're fine, the person was just a jerk.

I totally understood you. Reminds me of my early days in Defiance when I finally learned how to queue up co-op maps properly. I was eager to / apprehensive on teaming up with random people; and along the way, I grouped up with a pile of...let's call them 'bad apples'. But when I reported these 'bad apples' - and this is to paraphrase Trion's Customer Service - if you're not in with a group of friends/peers, etc., whomever the random player that is group leader, can pretty much do whatever they want. That includes abusive behavior. Reporting does nothing. Write down their PSN/Character Name, use Find Player and mute 'em.
