Yup, another one, but before you rage reply and call me a moaning fool (or something to that effect) consider this, The xbox one and MS in all their incredible wisdom implimented 8gb of DDR3 ram (memory) thats awesome to be honest.

A gaming system with a decent amount of ram, but before we get excited they have also implimented a 86x CPU architecture, if i remember right from my college days an 86x architecture only supports 3GB of RAM the rest isnt even registered, can someone correct me if im wrong please because thats a wasted 5GB ram, the logic behind that is next to non-existant.

Thanks

You're not wrong. The rest of that Ram is dedicated towards all of the other things non gaming related.

5gb for games, 3gb for OS. (http://www.examiner.com/article/xbox-one-ram-breakdown-5gb-for-games-3gb-for-os) Not surprising, it is a MS OS after all.

Im still unsure of how it can be dedicated to something else when the CPU and OS themselves cant even see it

Meanwhile, Microsoft's Marc Whitten, speaking to a gathering at Microsoft's Redmond campus on Tuesday, claimed that the console will co-habit three operating systems in one.

One operating system features "deep and instant access to hardware", another appears to be a Windows operating system, and a third is custom made for multi-tasking operations.
