i used to play Black/White or Red/Green but i havent played in a few years
Fungus was my last main deck consisting of white and green million token making babies. The 2014 duels game just went out on all systems and it is pretty good. Haven't played in a couple years, but always like to see what the new sets are bringing to the table.
With Extort, you have to play a quick deck, 1 to 3 converted mana cost, with a lot of instants, if you play planeschase, thats 3 life at one white or black mana, better then a lot of other abilities -cough-Bloodrush-cough- (and in some cases populate) but to each thier own opinion.
Havn't played much mtg since '94. Gave away my cards to a couple of friends a few years back. They sat up all night sorting through them, and now there wives are sort of mad at me.
lol, same here...im still on the swamp deck sorting out all the enchanted creatures, artifacts and such, i havent even been able to get to the land and the others lol...thats just how many cards i have and a lot of them are in pristine condition too...im hoping i can find a " kurd ape " somewhere in here cuz my uncle did some artwork for them...he did about 14 different cards...dark ritual, kurd ape, durnham jhin, some kind of beast, et etc...so if you see any " ken meyer jr " sigs on some cards, thats my uncle lol
Really cool that your uncle did some artwork on mtg. I try to sort through my card and sell em on ebay, but when you been out of it for a long time, you no longer know what is what. I finally just gave up and handed them to somebody that I knew would appreciate em.
In a tournament setting, it does not stack up, as you have to pump mana for every 1 pt of health, where as izzet does the fast cheap instants, that copy themselves, better, and faster, for far more damage. Bastion, if you're doing a weenie deck, piles on faster, and without draining your mana. Scavenge simply re-writes the rules entirely when it comes to power-ramping. Cipher + the myriad of unblockables for blue/black is simply breathtaking.
So, yes, in a one on one tournament setting, one mana, for one life, would be nice, if they had about 3 more 1 and 2 cost creatures with the ability. Right now they lack the fast crwature mana dump to get the early game advantage.
edit: used the wrong keyword for golgari, whoops
