Shotgun Nano Discussion

So, I've lurked around here a while and read many a post about the "Glitched" Syphon Nano in pvp. Now I'm not here to agree or disagree with it's existence because I don't even know how to get a hold of a glitched gun in order to test it. Nor do I want to know.

That being said, after using various different kinds, rarities and nano effects, pellet shotguns always seem to have a higher proc chance on nano's than other guns. Which leads me to wonder if the nano effect is a "per pellet" proc as opposed to per shot.

So when you fire, say a VOT nano fragger it has a %chance x 8 per shot, one for each pellet. Instead of a normal gun which is just % chance per round. This seems to happen with slug shotguns as well, they appear to have a much lower proc chance than the pellet firing counterparts.

I'd like to know your thoughts on this, both for and against.

i'm sure that awhile back i saw a thread on this and the answer is. YES.

It's per pellet. But the catch point is that they lowered the proc chance i think so that it'd be more balanced. IE, if it has a 10% proc chance and you shoot 10 pellets, you don't have a 100% chance to get it(not that it works that way mathematically though). But in the end, yes. With a higher number of rounds going out at a time the likelihood of achieving your average proc number per pellet is much higher because of a higher sample basis. But in the other spectrum, if you look at the Procs per sample IE take 10 rounds outta a hat, The chance of one of them being a proc is higher.

What seems to be the biggest gripe is that a proc from a 50dmg pellet and a 500dmg bullet is that the proc still does 450 dmg. That being said, More is better it seems. And thus so there are threads like "why don't you just base proc dmg off of weapon dmg trion?".

I think the major problem with it, for pvp anyway, is that if it is true to be per pellet then it is totally possible to have up to SIXTEEN procs of it from one shot from some shotguns (VOT nano fragger). It is out right more noticeable from syphon than other nano's because its the only one that does flat damage and people can see how many procs happen. If I hit you and get 5 procs from a fire nano or one proc from a fire nano it makes no difference, it does the same. However with syphon it stacks and after a shotgun salvo is more than likely going to kill you.

If this is true, then its not a glitch, and it hella isn't balanced.

The one and only thing that i'll agree with as far as balancing goes is the difference in nano procs between syphon and all the others

I am told by others that i have a glitched Vot Fragger with Syphon however i can't see it. If i use another Fragger as i have been it all works much the same.

That being said people these days are far more harder to kill as most people now have higher capacity shields and running with Syphon resist shields so the proc rate is redundant as you can easily tell a player with a resist shield cause they can take a beating.

Tachmags in my opinion are totally different story though.....

I'm running with a Syphon nano fragger atm because it has +10% health on reload. Which is sweet for my play style of hit hard and fast then get the hell out of there. Most of the time its the syphon proc that actually kills the person. It doesn't proc every time like some video's I've seen but it does proc at least once extremely often.

How can ppl tell your Vot Fragger is glitched?
For me it's always been... BAM BAM dead.
Everything happens too fast to see anything.

It's not all tachmags.
It's the Syphon ones.
It's almost like you need one just to be competitive sometimes.

Buggered if i know mate. I just buy a wep or find one, equip and use. So i got no clue, i can't even tell if i have one or not, im just going off what SOME ppl say to me. You see me in pvp i die just as much as the rest of them, some matches lucky n do better but others not so good hahaha so whatever i just play for sheets and giggles PVP is fun =D

Can you explain to me this glitch, because every explanation I've seen of it doesn't constitute a glitch. Every explanation I've seen is just Syphon being unbalanced in PvP, procing 4/5/6/7/8 times per mag.

Maybe I'm just being pedantic since I've started my I.T course but if that's what everyone is talking about then it isn't a glitch. Just broken game mechanics. >_<

This is proof that there is a difference in a normal Syphon VOT Fragger and a glitched VOT Fragger, so there IS a difference between them.

However, even without the glitch the VOT Fragger procs alot, so does the Tachmag Pulser (i use this one). And that is because it's idd counted per bullet and per pellet for shotguns. Btw a Nano Fragger has 16 pellets per shot, because as a sawn-off shotgun it fires 2 shells at once, for example: my Nano Fragger with syphon procs almost every time i hit something, unless they have a syphon resistance shield, then my proc chance is reduced with 30-40%, but i still can proc every 2 shots (4 shells), although you're usually dead before you can reload the Nano Fragger. Iam not using even using perks like Shadowed strike (+30% dmg while cloaked), because even without that my Nano Fragger can one-shot people IF it's properly modded and procs syphon.

As for Tachmags, it's just due their high rate of fire (25 bullets per sec) that it may seem like their glitched, but they only proc 2-3 times max when you have it modded to 80 bullets magazine. BUT that's still 3 procs in 3 secs if you're lucky, so it's quite OP if you can aim properly. So far i've only ever seen one glitched Tachmag, compared to the dozens of glitched VOT Fragger i've seen.

As for the nano effects themselves, somehow Syphon always procced more than others, it's not because you don't notice the other effects not that well, because you can damn well notice when you're on fire or when your HUD disappears from an electric proc. Not on every gun though, but on the previously mentioned guns Syphon procs almost double that of other effects, dunno how it works though, but Syphon seems to be calculated differently than other effects by which guns with alot of pellets or a high rate of fire have a huge advantage with it. I've had a Tachmag with Fire and Radiation/toxic and they both procced less than my Tachmag with Syphon....maybe only once per magazine.:confused:

The bug does exist with any gun that can get certain bonus stats through mods.
As far as I have been told it's all about a certain way of modding your weapon and adding certain perks for some weird proc rates.
(Just like hipfire crit-rate makes Sniper Rifles deal 0 damage)

Thus Tachmags can also be glitched.

The second weapon he uses procs a lot, that's a given, however (for the first three enemies anyway) he moves away far to fast to see any reliable information. For the next four enemies yes it procs every time but only 3 max from what I can see ( and considering fraggers fire in busts of two, each firing 12 pellets. 3 procs out of a possible 24 isn't unbelievable.)

Now if every single pellet was procing every time he fired. Then I would say that's Glitched. If its procing every time but only 1/2/3 pellets are procing its not glitched, just broken game mechanics.

Personally I don't like syphon in PvP atm becuase you pretty much have to use it, which I feel takes away from Tactical gameplay, but I don't think it's a glitch.

People are crying glitch far to easily. A glitch is a malfunction, something not working as intended. Syphon seems to be working perfectly as intended. Does that make it balanced? Hell no, but that doesn't make it a glitch.

Lol do you know what proccing with every pellet is? That's the same as proccing with every single bullet, you would only need 5 bullets or pellets to kill somebody, so even if you'd hit with a VOT Fragger 5 pellets at 20m away you'd still instantly kill him with one shot...
A normal VOT Fragger procs 2 times (3 times max if you're lucky) with 8 shells, so you can say that proccing with every shell is kinda OP. Because Syphon gives an additional 450 dmg when it procs and that damage you do gets converted to your health + it can jump to nearby enemies and also proc on them... so how OP is Syphon when it procs with every shell and you're talking about every pellet? So that would mean that one shell would proc 12 times if you'd hit everything up close, so that is 12 x 450dmg= 5400dmg in one shot... :rolleyes:
I already find proccing every shell cheating because they kill you in less than 4 shells unless you have an extremely tough shield of over 1900 hitpoints.

And how can it not be a glitch? If you look in the video you can see his health go up everytime he takes a small amount of damage, so it does proc every time + he shows how a normal unglitched VOT Fragger works (it did proc once in the video, but his shield was full then). So the unglitched version is how it's supposed to work, the glitched version is obviously a malfunction that WASN'T INTENDED.;)

So me and Kay Cypher tried tons VOT fragger and we can say 90% there are NO GLITCH SYPHON, just some weapons have more chance to proc than other. Nano, VOT, Pulser are the best proc weapons for any nano not only syphon.

Yeah i know, but we are talking about a very small percentage here, about 5 people actively playing PVP use the glitch.

Yes I know what procing every pellet is. From the video you posted (and I was watching only damage numbers here, not his shield) He was procing per pellet, which is also what I've found on all shotguns with syphon and don't fire slugs (as you can't test it with any other nano becuase none of the others give any sign), hence my first post. If I fire a Nano Fragger I'm firing 16 pellets (8 per round) if I'm procing 3/4 per 18 pellets then that lines up with other weapons, give or take. If this is the case then I would say Trion need to do something about it because that is OP.

You've jumped from pellets to shells here and back again, but from what I've seen, both in that video and personally, this seems to be what is happening. It is quite possible (although improbable) to do 5400 damage just with syphon if all pellets proc. This is a broken mechanic if that's the case. But if this is the way Trion designed it, then it isn't a glitch. It's a broken mechanic.

This is you assuming that the first weapon was "unglitched" for all we know they should be procing per pellet and thus the first shotgun that only proc'd once was the "glitched" one.

TL: DR Syphon on shotguns IS broken, but that doesn't make it a glitch.

Edit: If there was a way to set it with other Nano's, For example if it proc'd per pellet with a fire nano the duration was longer or the DoT did more damage, Would this be broken still? or would it lead to more interesting game play?

-_- Are you sure you know what a "pellet" and a "shell" is? Because i don't think you know the difference here, no offence...
If you do know that, then just skip the next 3 lines...otherwise just read it.

A shell is a cartridge which can contain a slug (single huge lead ball), buckshot (8 bullet-size balls) or birdshot (up to 24 small balls). The lead balls inside the shell are called pellets, so the buckshot shells contain 8 pellets, the birdshot contains 24 pellets, and so on...



Anyway, even if you knew that then i still think you're mistaken between proc-chance and proc itself + the fact that not every pellet has a seperate proc-chance, because every pellet in the shell gives the shell itself more chance to proc syphon, but pellets do not have a seperate chance to proc syphon.
For example: each pellet adds +5% to the shell to proc syphon, so a VOT Fragger has 20% more chance to proc syphon per shell than other shotguns (it has 4 more pellets per shell). If every pellet had 5% chance to proc syphon seperately, then you could idd proc more than once per shell, but this is impossible. I've never even seen a glitched VOT Fragger proc syphon more than once per shell.

This doesn't seem to be entirely correct. My theories is that individual guns has different procc rates. Lets say that a certain type of gun can have 5-20% procc chance, I dont know any numbers ofc since this is a theory of mine.
I have found lots of VOT Fraggers during my hours in defiance and I ALWAYS try out the proccrate of those just for the fun of it. Some proccs like absolute batshtako crazy while others barely proc at all, even if they are the same color.

This doesn't only imply on the VOT Fraggers. As some of you know i play alot with assault rifles and these act in the same way, some proccs more than others, yet again same colors etc.
I feel its more likely that some guns just have higher proccrate than everybody is running with glitched guns.

@ Shakk: ofcourse not everybody is walking around with glitched guns, and ofcourse some proc more than other, VOT Fraggers and Tachmags proc more than any other gun in their class/weapon type. However, still a VOT Fragger can proc even more than it already can, because now they actually proc about 2-3 times maximum per 8 shells, but a glitched one can proc up to 7 times per 8 shells, as the video illustrates :) So like i said, there is still a difference between the normal high-proccing VOT Fragger and the glitched insanely-proccing VOT Fragger.

A few examples: Kay Cypher and Henna from WTF clan do not have a glitched VOT Fragger, however, Atom or Vodka do have a glitched one, because in PVP you cannot kill them single-handed (when they're glitching that is), because their health regenerates with every 2 shells or even every single shell.

I'm pretty sure i have a VOT Fragger in my possesion that can proc more than 2-3 times on 8 shells, I'm not gonna swear on it and Im not gonna try it out right now as im just about to go to bed but we could have a look at that one tomorrow, perhaps.

I also had a Tachmag that I'm sure procced far more than 2-3 times on a clip (unmodded), although that one has gone to my salvage pile since my inventory space is worth more than a mere SMG.

Note: Both of the guns were loot that i had found, none else but me have used them.

I would love to see the siphon get nerfed tho. Its far too strong, glitched or not.

Thanks to MartyrMarcus for his point of view, I totally agree with this you know it, I explained it a lot, no need to come back on this.

And as Shakk is explaining, there is no "glitched" weapons, only a random part of them proccing more than others, and it depends of their rarities, their EGO levels and yes, of the way you mod them, and even of the default bonuses on them O_O !

Nothing is absolute, I detailed the phenomenon of the syphon proccing system in another thread frame by frame, pellet per pellet, bullet per bullet... You still have no possibility to fully control it, but you can manage to maximize your chances to trigger it though...

Here is more knowledge about this :

- weapons procc a lot less when they are @2800+ EGO level, we still don't know why.
- weapons proccing more are the purple rarity level weapons (EPIC)
- legendary (orange) weapons barely procc, except VOT Fragger NANO wich can procc up to 5 times in a single SHELL (not pellet ofc)
- green and blue weapons sometimes don't procc in an entire mag, even if you aim for the head
- weapons under 750 EGO level procc insanely often...

With all this debate about glitched weapons or not, we took back all our testing with JoTheShow yesterday, on VOT Pulser Tachmag, VOT Fragger, and VOT Fragger NANO, in PvE and PvP.

Conclusion, there is still a big big big part of random in all this, you can never control it totally. But, the fact is all the details above are real, plus, I tried a lot of modding on many VOT Fraggers WHILE testing to see if there is a difference, and I switched perks for the same reasons, and I switched Shields for the same reasons.

Want to know more indeed ? Here you go :

- You procc more if you put a "Falloff damage +8" barrel mod on weapons instead of a "x1.07/x1.07 dmg" mod
- A part of the procc chance in PvP is kind of calculated from the regen rate/regen delay of your Shield doesn't affect in any way in PvE, I let you test all this to find the best one XD
- You procc more if the Nano Effect of your gun is the same of the Elemental Resistance of your Shield
- You procc more if you use the "Deadly Cascade" perk (still don't know why but I have a pretty good idea about this...)
- You gain a bit more life when you procc syphon if you have the "Regeneration" perk enabled and if your Shield has a life regeneration bonus
- You procc more with overcharge EGO power
- To procc, if your weapon does not have a "critical hit +1.15x" base bonus or stuff like that, there is indeed no need to aim for the head to proc, you can just aim for kind of the "halfway line" of the body, or whatever you are shooting at... If it's humanoid, imagine you aim for the spine, even if the ennemy is facing you. If it's robotic or a vehicle, draw a halfway line of the object in your mind and shoot at it...

Knowing all this, after of course HOURS of testing, mods/shields/perks switching, and trust me, in long term it does cost a lot or ressources -_- Then now I think I've just created a hell of a VOT Fragger...

I just took back an old VOT Fragger from a low EGO level friend. EPIC VOT Fragger with Syphon @567 EGO lvl, no particular bonus indeed, except a cool +10% EGO recharge after full reload of gun, and +15% dmg to vehicles as an XP bonus but, with the "Falloff dmg +8" on it, and the usual mods at other places, with the correct perks, the correct shield with correct bonuses etc... This one just proccs up to 2 or 3 times per shell (so up to 4 to 6 times per shot because its burst two-shots), even in PvP, even against vehicles...

I've tested it yesterday evening in PvP on FY and Observatory, that's just insane O_O I was able to Solo a Cerberus without even loosing half of my shield, because shooting on the halfway line as explained above allowed me to procc syphon on Cerberus + the 3 guys in it, so my life was like UP UP UP UP UP UP !!!

Against people, if you add all the informations in this post to the informations I gave in the other thread on the forums, you will understand it is really devastating, proccing around at least 1 time per shell often 2, so 2 times or 4 per shot per people shot before stacked again etc...(wich can give 10 to 15 proccs per mag), it kinds of turn you almost invincible because of the life and shield it gives you back, and dealing a lot of damage around...

So trust me, it took a lot of time to lead to this kind of "glitched" weapons, but as MartyrMarcus said, it's not a glitch, the proof is that without the proper mods/perks/shield/aiming combination, no weapon will procc all the time for like ... no reason XD But on the contrary, if you had spend a lot of time experimenting these kinds of combination, in PvE and PvP, just like we did in the WTF Clan, you would have ended on the same conclusions than us, the game is coded in a particular way about the Syphon, and with practice, and tests, you can manage to maximize a lot the chances for a weapon to procc... That's all.

So then, I think now you know everything about the Syphon's based weapons, do your own tests and don't hesitate, like us, to report weird weapons behaviors like this, because clearly, we always said it and we always reported it everytime we figured a new way to enhance the procc chances on various weapons, the procc is totally OOOOOOOP compared to others nano effects...

And just to make things clear about my "new" VOT Fragger roxxor always proccing around, I played it yesterday to test my point and my conclusions about all this. I won't play it because it's clearly too easy to play with it...

Your post made me curious.
Just tried it in PvE and I don't notice any change.
(OK, I have been accidently using Cascade in my Arkfall build for a while after leveling a Mass Canon, maybe I'm used to it)

I don't know for you Sdric O_O Just try a lot of things and see by yourself, as I said, it depends a lot of weapon itself, among other things, sometimes it affects proc, sometimes not, big part of random... Plus I figred this randomly by testing my gun on another loadout in wich I was using the cascade perk, and I was like "OMG I proc twice than before wtf ???" The only difference was this perk compared to my other loadout so then..... And even if I tested on the same packs of mobs, waiting for them to respawn to be able to test stuffs and things in the exact same situation each time by moving only one variable one after the other etc...

I just wrote down here what, in my opinion, affects the procc chances positively, in both PvE and PvP, I didnt mention HOW MUCH it affects it ^^ Take time to experiment things by yourself, you'll be surprised to see some results sometimes trust me XD

And about the Shield regen rate/regen delay, and assortment of shield's nano resistance and corresponding nano effect proccing on weapon, yeah, it definitely does something in PvP... Since almost everyone is playing a Syphon weapon, no matter what the weapon's class is, I even wonder if the syphon you "dodge" or "absorb" with the shield nano resistance is not sometimes kind of transferred into your own procc chances in the next few shots O_O Because sometimes it proccs so hard that I am actually wondering why I am proccing ! As an exemple, I shot some shots on two players yesterday, 2 shots on one and 3 on the other, ofc I procced each time each shot, but the two of them didn't die, and then, while reloading, PEW PEW PEW ! 3 more proccs while reloading and I wasn't even shooting and BAM ! dead guys... Like 2 seconds after I stopped shooting... There is really something wrong about all this... Experiment stuff you'll see, some things are weird, really...

Anyway, you can try to join me ingame if you want more details or have a test session with me because yeah, I forgot to mention a last thing, we noticed another last thing... If you get a VOT Fragger, fitting all the caracteristics for it to be kind of a OP VOT Fragger, proccing each time and all the stuff, but then it doesn't procc when you use it and you don't know why, just trade it to a friend who successfully proccs with weapons, let him use it for a while, and take it back from him, magically, it will continue to procc when YOU use it O_O We still don't know why actually... Maybe it's a karma or a mojo thing XD

Nothing is absolute, I detailed the phenomenon of the syphon proccing system in another thread frame by frame, pellet per pellet, bullet per bullet... You still have no possibility to fully control it, but you can manage to maximize your chances to trigger it though...

Here is more knowledge about this :

- weapons procc a lot less when they are @2800+ EGO level, we still don't know why.
- weapons proccing more are the purple rarity level weapons (EPIC)
- legendary (orange) weapons barely procc, except VOT Fragger NANO wich can procc up to 5 times in a single SHELL (not pellet ofc)
- green and blue weapons sometimes don't procc in an entire mag, even if you aim for the head
- weapons under 750 EGO level procc insanely often...

With all this debate about glitched weapons or not, we took back all our testing with JoTheShow yesterday, on VOT Pulser Tachmag, VOT Fragger, and VOT Fragger NANO, in PvE and PvP.

Conclusion, there is still a big big big part of random in all this, you can never control it totally. But, the fact is all the details above are real, plus, I tried a lot of modding on many VOT Fraggers WHILE testing to see if there is a difference, and I switched perks for the same reasons, and I switched Shields for the same reasons.

Want to know more indeed ? Here you go :

- You procc more if you put a "Falloff damage +8" barrel mod on weapons instead of a "x1.07/x1.07 dmg" mod
- A part of the procc chance in PvP is kind of calculated from the regen rate/regen delay of your Shield doesn't affect in any way in PvE, I let you test all this to find the best one XD
- You procc more if the Nano Effect of your gun is the same of the Elemental Resistance of your Shield
- You procc more if you use the "Deadly Cascade" perk (still don't know why but I have a pretty good idea about this...)
- You gain a bit more life when you procc syphon if you have the "Regeneration" perk enabled and if your Shield has a life regeneration bonus
- You procc more with overcharge EGO power
- To procc, if your weapon does not have a "critical hit +1.15x" base bonus or stuff like that, there is indeed no need to aim for the head to proc, you can just aim for kind of the "halfway line" of the body, or whatever you are shooting at... If it's humanoid, imagine you aim for the spine, even if the ennemy is facing you. If it's robotic or a vehicle, draw a halfway line of the object in your mind and shoot at it...

Knowing all this, after of course HOURS of testing, mods/shields/perks switching, and trust me, in long term it does cost a lot or ressources -_- Then now I think I've just created a hell of a VOT Fragger...

I just took back an old VOT Fragger from a low EGO level friend. EPIC VOT Fragger with Syphon @567 EGO lvl, no particular bonus indeed, except a cool +10% EGO recharge after full reload of gun, and +15% dmg to vehicles as an XP bonus but, with the "Falloff dmg +8" on it, and the usual mods at other places, with the correct perks, the correct shield with correct bonuses etc... This one just proccs up to 2 or 3 times per shell (so up to 4 to 6 times per shot because its burst two-shots), even in PvP, even against vehicles...

I've tested it yesterday evening in PvP on FY and Observatory, that's just insane O_O I was able to Solo a Cerberus without even loosing half of my shield, because shooting on the halfway line as explained above allowed me to procc syphon on Cerberus + the 3 guys in it, so my life was like UP UP UP UP UP UP !!!

Against people, if you add all the informations in this post to the informations I gave in the other thread on the forums, you will understand it is really devastating, proccing around at least 1 time per shell often 2, so 2 times or 4 per shot per people shot before stacked again etc...(wich can give 10 to 15 proccs per mag), it kinds of turn you almost invincible because of the life and shield it gives you back, and dealing a lot of damage around...

So trust me, it took a lot of time to lead to this kind of "glitched" weapons, but as MartyrMarcus said, it's not a glitch, the proof is that without the proper mods/perks/shield/aiming combination, no weapon will procc all the time for like ... no reason XD But on the contrary, if you had spend a lot of time experimenting these kinds of combination, in PvE and PvP, just like we did in the WTF Clan, you would have ended on the same conclusions than us, the game is coded in a particular way about the Syphon, and with practice, and tests, you can manage to maximize a lot the chances for a weapon to procc... That's all.

So then, I think now you know everything about the Syphon's based weapons, do your own tests and don't hesitate, like us, to report weird weapons behaviors like this, because clearly, we always said it and we always reported it everytime we figured a new way to enhance the procc chances on various weapons, the procc is totally OOOOOOOP compared to others nano effects...

And just to make things clear about my "new" VOT Fragger roxxor always proccing around, I played it yesterday to test my point and my conclusions about all this. I won't play it because it's clearly too easy to play with it...

This is just...wow. That's some research you've done there. It does make me wonder if the same things will affect other nano's like fire. There's no quantifiable way to test that to my knowledge though cos fire is just fire regardless of number of procs, but it does make me wonder if this is just a problem with syphon or if it is all nano's.

Edit: On a personal note, stop killing me in PvP damnit kay!

@ Kay Cypher: Are you sure that it can proc more than once per shell? Because as i heard from a few sources the pellets give the shell in total a higher chance to proc syphon, so the more pellets in the shell the more chance the shell has to proc syphon once. But like you wrote it the pellets must each have a seperate proc-chance on them and be able to proc syphon once per pellet and not per shell.
So far i've never seen a "glitched" VOT Fragger proc more than once per shell, unless the dmg and regeneration when it double or triple procs per shell are instantly added in the double or triple amount. What i mean with that is that that if it procs 2 times per shell it will damage instantly 900 dmg instead of 2 times 450 dmg and will regenerate 900-1000 HP instead of 2 times 500 HP.
So if that's the case, then you might be right since you cannot see the two procs happens seperately and it will happen instantly in a larger amount.

Anyway, what i also found strange is that in Mezekyle's video he is still using the same perks and EGO power when he switches to the "glitched" VOT Fragger, it might only been modded differently, but if like you say that perks, loadout and EGO powers can influence the proc-chance dramatically, then i wonder why his first "unglitched" VOT Fragger only procs once after all those hits.
I know there is still some kind of randomness to it, but if you were right about the perks, shields and EGO powers, then he still would be able to proc a little more then just one time on 16 shells.

I also use a syphon resistance shield, falloff dmg +8 mod and the regeneration perk, however, in the videos i made i also checked to see if my Tachmag wasn't "glitched" by accident, but the most times it procced syphon in any video was 3 times in a clip of 80 bullets...:confused:

As I said in all my posts, yes you can proc more than 1 time per shell. Knowing the Shell is composed by many pellets, if i didn't explain it well before, I can confirm you that Yes, each PELLET does actually have a chance to proc separately... So on a 12 pellets shell like the VOT Fragger, if you imagine that hypothetically you had a 100% chance to proc, it doesn't mean you would proc at each shell, but you would proc at each pellet, wich means 12 proccs on a single SHELL, so then basically 120 proccs (hypothetically) on a 10 shells magazine...

If you gather all the informations I gave about the Syphon Nano effect, it is actually possible to procc more than one time per shell, and that's what I managed to make with my own 567 EGO VOT Fragger, by testing a lot as I explained, actually in PvP, I procc 2 or 3 times by SHELL, yes... Because it bursts fire 2 shells in a single clic, it then proccs often 4 times in one single mouse clic... And yes that's insane.

We disagreed a lot about what can be called a glitch or not, I still think this can't be called a glitch because the phenomenon is actually managable, you can increase it, or decrease it, even if there is a big part of randomness in all this as I already said before.

And even if again you disagree, maybe it's because you don't pay enough attention while playing and shooting on the battleground, but I can assure you that your VOT Pulser Tachmag is "glitched" according to your own definition ;-) No offense, but for what I have noticed, when you proc, maybe on the screen you see only one purple video effect, and in the sound you hear only one big "PEW" effect, but I can assure you that seeing the life of the ennemy you are shooting at, you procc at least 2, sometimes 3 times each time you proc... I tested a lot of Pulser Tachmags, and yours is actually proccing a lot, but that's cool for you, because it's rare to get a weapon that fits all the caracteristics I've listed above, so keep it !!! Maybe you already noticed that since you play with it, you are a lot better and powerfull in PvP especially...

Plus, as you can guess, I couldn't know wich mods you had on your tachmag, and you see ? You exactly have the mods that increase the chances to procc a lot more, do you really think it's a coincidence ??? ^^

To detail the question you had about the notification on-screen about the damage numbers, the answer is "no", it doesn't stack or show itself as 1044 or 1566 damage, you have to really pay attention to this, but it just shows like 522 522 522 (for tachmag) 2 or 3 times (in PvP) or more (in PvE). The problem is, it's hard to see it because the numbers are actually written ON each others, almost perfectly superimposed, especially on the Tachmag because of its insane firerate... So it's really hard to see it, but if you just play a PvP game to do tests, and let the scoring aside, and just take the time to test and figure it out by yourself, you will see that on your tachmag, when you think you procc one time, you almost everytime procc 2 or 3 times because of everything I explained here and in the other thread about PvP players (number of bullets between "PROCC" and "TIK" if you remember), just pay attention, you will see I am not telling buullshhit. So when you say you only procc up to 3 or 4 times lucky in a whole mag of 80 bullets, indeed you procc 6 to 12 times... True story, just do as I say, go on battleground, shoot, test, watch, and you'll see I'm right, ask a clanmate if he wants to help you to do this by not moving and letting you shoot at him to see what's happening in real time (that's mostly how we do PvP test).

To MartyrMarcus, yup we did some research... Serious researches... I don't know a lot about other nano effects, I know sometimes fire proccs 2 or 3 times, you can see it because it always DoT @ 57dmg/s, and if you procc again, the numbers are actually displaying faster and faster. This is clearly a "finishing" nano effect in my opinion, especially on long range weapons when you try like "super-heroes" shot on targets moving laterally etc... Or when you are high as fnck and feel the vibe in your veins and you just empty a full mag in a bush or something because you saw something was moving or whatever the reason is, and then you have no bullets left, you must reload, your target is running away but HEY ! he's on fire... And you get the kill like 3 seconds later because he was burning. This stuff rocks on Manual Sniper Rifles, and FRC Heavy Assault Carbine, you can't imagine how many people I killed because of the fire... Plus, there is a build that gives you litterally almost 100% chances to proc when you use sniper rifles, from far away of course... I'm pretty sure some of you already know it ;)

About the toxic, big problem, because no information is given about the amount of life or shield, displayed in numbers on the screen in real time, it's hard to guess if it can stack or not... When you procc, we just know the ennemy gets 25% more damage inflicted, but we don't know, because usually the guy dies fast after that, if it can stack up to 50% then 75% then 100% etc... We didn"t have the chance to count all this...

For the sludge, clearly no, no stacking, when you are under sludge, you just do half of damage and move slower, that's all, no stacking... Imagine a teamplay with 4 guys playing sludge in sync... The guy they shoot at just wont be able to move anymore, and would deal almost 0 dmg whatever the weapon he could use...

Electric damage just disable the HUDs, and DoT @ 7dmg/s. Thing is, as fire, if you procc more than once, the numbers are displaying faster, but really, 7dmg/s ? useless to me... it's not a nano to use for more damage really... In my opinion, this electric stuff just has to be used to disable for a while ennemy snipers, to give time to infantry to get him and destroy him in close combat, or a counter-sniper to aim him and destroy him too... It's more a strategical advantage than a damage based nano effect. And I think this is the way the devs wanted it to be used.

MartyrMarcus, what is your name ingame ? Because I never saw any MartyrMarcus on the Battleground, but I think it's because I see the accounts name in PvP instead of the nickname of the character... I will pay attention next time not to kill you and dance in front of you XD If you dance with me, during a PvP game, you will get a free VOT Fragger Syphon rofl ! Well I've got to disagree at one point Kay.

If low EGO actually effects the procrates it's definitely a glitch since "advanced" players can't ever receive a weapon by normal playing.

@ Kay Cypher: srry that i don't use a normal quote, but your text does idd take alot of room. :p And yes iam actually a very reasonable person if you have valid arguements, like you just showed here, heck you might even have made me reconcider the fact that maybe my Tachmag procs more than normal... but when i ask people if they're glitching and all i get in response is: "no i don't glitch, you're just a noob who can't aim!", then i do tend to get more agressive... :s
Almost everybody i ever asked about the glitch on their VOT Fragger either responded childish or abusive, you're about the only person here online that actually tries to put energy and logic in their texts.
And just like i said before: you're not a bad person, i have nothing against you, but you just happen to be a co-leader of a clan with at least 2 known glitchers (now 3 with your new recruits).

Anyway, back ontopic: from my video footage i do not seem to proc more than 3 times with every kill i make (which usually takes and entire clip of 80 bullets or more), but that's because iam only counting the amounts by which my health actually regenerates. If my Tachmag can stack up several syphon procs and then convert them to health in one big health boost, then you could be right...
What i mean by this is for example: i proc syphon 2 times in a burst of 5 shots, but due to the fast rate of fire of the Tachmag it seems like the health goes up only once, while it's actually 2 times 450 HP regen. That's the only thing i can come up with to explain it. But i do swear to god (even though iam not religious) that on my video footage i can only see it go up 2 or 3 times maximum. I've already seen a Tachmag that did double that, so i can agree that mine procs more than normal, but i cannot really agree that it's "glitched" by the terms that i use for "glitched weapons" (proccing syphon over 6 times per clip).

PS: And like Sdric said: you CAN consider it to be a glitch for the reason he wrote + the fact that some random bugs influence it ALOT. Like you say it, you can influence or "tweak" it a little bit, but there's still alot of random factors and bugs that affect it. So it's not 100% manageable/controllable by the player. Therefor it is an exploitable bug, a.k.a: a "glitch".

Grrrrrh, we are just playing on words you know it... Plus, about what Sdric mentionned, I don't totally agree because you're right when you said advanced players can't get low EGO weapons, of course because you always can get weapons of your own EGO, BUT ! if you had the chance to drop some weapons while you still were low EGO character (just like I did indeed...), and if you also had the good instinct and feeling to keep them, then you actually are able to have some... Or you can just reroll a character, and farm or play until you get the weapons you need @ low EGO ^^

About the fact your life only goes up 3 times in a full mag, yes it's normal, as I said, even if you only see only one purple video effect and you hear only one big "PEW" sound effect, it does procc more than once, and even if the number are displayed very fast and superimposed briefly, this is so fast it actually heals you in one time, just like you get 1566 or 1044 in once, instead of 522 then quickly 522 etc... So yeah, because of the amount of life and shield not displayed like many other games with numbers, but only with a single bar without any further informations, you just can GUESS how many times you procced by estimating the amount of life and/or shield you get when you procc.

In my knowledge, if you have the perk that gives +225 HP, you have a pool of 1561HP, and your shield is pretty easy to know ^^ So, when you procc, if you see you get like half of your life, and a tiny part of your shield (because syphon often gives back both indinstinctly) then you can reasonably think you just procced at least twice in a single procc. Still knowing that sometimes (it happened to me for no reason on kind of "aftermath" proccs, I mean proccs happening while I'm not shooting, like reloading or moving around to dodge shots, or even when I just died...) the syphon actually proccs and deals damage, but doesn't heal at all... And also knowing the syphon does not heal you exactly the same amount of damage you dealt, but as I already said, it's hard to evaluate because of the lack of informations in concrete numbers about life and shield, in real time on screen, or numbers displayed when you get healed, just like the ones you can see when you deal damage... That's sad, actually, I really would like to get that kind of intel...

About the "glitchers" in my Clan, and btw i'm not a co-leader I actually created it XD, but, the point is, the "glitchers" you are talking about didn't even know they were glitching. As you can see, YOU didn't even know until all the informations I gave here and around that you were actually kind of glitching too...

I noticed really really soon in the game that the Syphon was totally fncked up, because it's OP, it deals massive damage of area, and heals you back when it triggers, it was really easy to figure out this was OP... I noticed that if my memory is good the second or maybe the third day after I started the game, so it was around the 4th or the 5th of April... At first, I kept the syphon weapons because I liked the visuals and sounds effects of it, seeing ennemies decomposing like absorbed by a blackhole and shjt ^^ Then I started real tests a month later and with clanmembers we reported it almost immediately when we figured how it was possible to use it properly, how to enhance it insanely etc... The answer was the game is actually coded this way so there is nothing to patch or fix, SO THEN we started to explain the phenomenon to everybody around, first to our clanmembers yeah (solidarity and cohesion guys XD) but right after in public, especially when we got lovely private messages ingame or on forums, accusing us to cheat/glitch/exploit etc...This way, we were hoping that when everybody would have understand how/why/when the syphon work, and would have equipped and used a syphon weapon properly, it would have set a global balance without a fix or a patch required, because "when everyone is special, noone is special"... What pjssed me off is that every single time I managed to explain back to the flamers how it worked, why it worked etc, I just got more insults back... It was useless to try to teach to people who didn't wanna learn anything, convinced they're right and the others are wrong in any way, just like you did for a loooooooooong time Dreamon666...

So anyway it's endless to discuss it more, to make a point that Tachmag is glitched but less than VOT Fragger just because blah blah blah... If you start to put kind of a "glitch ladder" man... Just OMG... Your Tachmag is as glitched as the proper Fraggers that's all O_O

Not exactly, because one of them admitted it publicly and still used it after that on innocent, fair players.
And another guy has had plenty of warnings, flames, accusations, etc... from other players besides me, he even made a topic about it to deny it...

Well, i keep records of what i and you guys said and i know for a fact that i did not get a proper response back. The only "proper" response i got from you in the past was for exmaple when we were in a Shadow war, you were on top of a rock and i did no damage to you at all while i engaged you first in your back with a Courier and Tachmag, this is what you said: "i know what you're thinking, but we're actually on live stream and chatting with GMs, so we cannot be cheating, it's actually a known bug of the Courier that it doesn't explode sometimes". So i thought that was a valid explanation, so i let it go, HOWEVER, when in that same match i saw another clanmate of you that glitched syphon and pointed it out to him, then i got as a response from you (because he told it to you): "shut up dumbass, you don't even know what you're talking about!" Oke, so as far as i know i've never called anybody in your clan an "idiot", a "ret4rd", a "pathetic no-lifer", a "psychopath", "kiddy clan", "jerk"... the only words i did use was "noobish", however all the other words i just mentioned were frequently used by two of your clanmates to comment back to me, i got the screenshots to back it up.

So if i got reported by your whole clan because of some discussion without any actual abusive language (from my side), then i think i might just make my screenshots about your two clanmates public to the devs too.

Back ontopic: Thx for the explanation on the matter, i will look further into it, if it's actually "glitched" i'll use a different Tachmag with different mods like hipfire dmg, however, if the others (i got 2 other Tachmags with syphon) proc the same way as my first one, then i don't think i can actually prevent it, then it just must be the Tachmags that proc so often by default...:confused:

Well, it's not my intention to close the thread, but just like you're trying to defend your clan's reputation, iam trying to defend the integrity of the game, i don't care about my own reputation, as long as this game gets fixed and glitchers are banned or expelled.
However, i do care about telling the truth and that's why i felt compelled to reply in this way ;)
