I am just glad they added a new NPC that is harder to kill. They need some ELITE Volge too, but I have been told they are coming but in the sieges. I can't wait, they will be INSANE!

The only thing I do not like is the emergency with the rocket launchers. Why do rocket launchers, you find on the ground, one shot them? The advanced weapons should be removed or deal less damage.
The current crit spot is fine, it's only from the front, and you only do half your weapon's crit damage once the shield is down (full crit on shield for some reason)
I agree with the strength part, their gun doesn't drop my shield, and the blur charge only eats a full Respark shield+10% health if it connects. Don't agree with the charge time, there has to be some leeway there.
Normal enemies are supposed to be bland, bomber elites o.t.o.h. are scary. Try a "The Volge Await"(or something like that) emergency, you'll see them there. They look badas. Oh btw, all elite volge have a red lightning theme, meet them at night for a preview of hell.
Yep, I'd kill for a one-way shield ego power... It's the only thing I envy those bloody Dark Matter for. They've got everything else that we have... That said, stay in cover and pick up the troopers one by one. You always have cover in these emergencies, you're not supposed to take them head-on.
Viscera have a hard melee if you get near them, and I really don't see an enemy that can secrete armor like sweat and grow bionetic coldfire weapons run around with a piece of metal to smash... counter-productive. They're much more effective nuking your face.
Enrage (like the goldrushers) at ~20% health left would be interesting. No forced shield recharge though, that's just annoying, especially considering their initial shield size.
First let me say that I enjoy fighting the Volge, as difficult as they are.
I only have one issue with them at this point. I don't mind foes that have difficult attacks, but for me there is a difference between a foe that is difficult because of intelligent combat versus "cheap" attacks. Or to put it another way, does the attack feel like it had to cheat or did it feel like it was just smarter than you and outwit or outgunned you?
The boss Volge (I forget it's name) has a charge attack that you can tell is going to happen when he starts animating this blue vortex. I have been *behind* many obstacles when this attack has happened, you name it, walls, trucks, buildings, boulders, etc. and the attack goes right through all of them to peg me regardless. I'm not sure if this is intentional, or perhaps it's network lag, etc. but it is the only part of their combat so far that feels cheap.
Anyhow, other than that, I am enjoying their difficulty and enjoy fighting them, even solo I do mostly OK versus the Volge. Thanks Trion. :)
Guess I'll make the thread :P later tho <.<
I'd love to hold a shield to go with my sword (charge blade) Yes I know it is a step backwards in technology but sometimes the older things make more sense. I mean things are scarce and can be expensive to aquire in a Defiance (post apocalyptic) world.
Besides they could always add disatvantages to certain things, Like making it harder to dodge while using it, since it will block most blows and shots.
Thing to remember is that the Voulge will be fought by all players regardless of equipment, ego rank and skill. It's great to have more challenging enemies, but if they are going tos how up at roadside emergencies, then they should take the whole playerbase into account.
For sieges, which are meant for more players, then harder and meaner enemies of any type would be more than welcome.
Someone mentioned that the Volge guns cant eat through their shield. Damn I wish I had one like that. If a second V sees me as I am killing the first, then I am lucky to get out with a sliver of health. The shields I have found so far are eaten up by those coldfire guns.
The most important thing for me right now is the attack of the Visce-whatsitcalled. Letting it run through a mountain was kinda unfair and cheap.
Crit points are fine, given that they don't get "stunned" when damaged in their crit point, and that they're immune to the CC portion of nano effects (kind of ruins the lightning nano effect but it'd be a tad overpowered in sieges if they didn't have that effect).
About Viscera, I'd agree their ranged attack animation needs to play much faster, and they need to use it less often in favor of getting close to strike with their sword arm or using their biotic charge.
You said they don't have a melee unit, but I'd argue Viscera are their melee unit. Elite Viscera using that melee attack is very fierce. Hits for I'd say around 2000 damage. They're just a little too laid back.
The troopers are definitely the scariest part of them. A couple troopers shooting at you = going to hurt. Having two bombers locked onto is painful too, since they can alternate their stuns and "juggle" you.
Not sure how I feel about an enrage. When their shield is down they can be staggered so I don't know if an enrage would actually add anything of value.
