Update Your Defiance Release Client (Steam Purchase)

During Beta, I was able to update what seemed to be the release client for Defiance. If anyone's purchased since then, try something for me...

Go to your Local Disc (C: on my pc), Program Files (x86), Steam, SteamApps, common, Defiance...

Then execute the Patcher.exe file located there. Let me know if it updates. Mine does not, most likely because I've already done so during beta. The program sends me to the 'checking servers' screen after checking for updates, then of course it fails to find a server since they're not up yet :p

I was running beta from patcher, there was small patch during beta, thats all.

Odd, I had a 2hr update on Sunday night at the end of beta after I decided to pre-order from Steam. I had already been playing beta since Friday, via Trion's site download...

Was most likely that common error that caused people to download the whole beta again.

Are we suppose to unload the beta. or is the live version just going to add on to what we currently have ?

My Defiance Steam folder has a "Live" folder so I assume I updated and downloaded the retail client already.

The update may have been the update needed to reset/revert for Alpha testing. I know I was able to go back in once the update completed after the Beta ended.

But then who knows, it could be both a pre-load and an alpha reversion, only the devs i suppose...

That's what I was thinking. Has anyone tried the patcher.exe file and gotten an update since beta ended??

I can try when I get home, which should be in about a couple of hours...

I purchased Defiance through steam but due to an issue I could not play using the steam client so I played on the beta client provided by Trion. That being said I didn't do any updates prior to beta ending and as of 4pm EST running the patch executable I was not prompted to update anything.
