Game-breaking FFXIV:ARR bug. (not for fanboys)
See title. I can't believe Square Enix would launch the game with such a glaring, game-breaking problem. And before you fanboys jump in and say it's a minor glitch, only happens to me, etc., this happens to pretty much everyone I know, so stop cashing your Square Enix paychecks, ok? Obvious plant is obvious.
Anyway, here's the bug:
Every Friday, about 5am my time, I log in to play. For about 48 hours, everything is great. Hell, better than great. I log in whenever I have time, I have a blast, I quest, I kill, I Fate, I explore, and so forth. I don't have a complaint about this part. Ok yeah, they got the whole "playing the game" aspect right. Immersion, good UI, controls that make sense and flow, and a ton of fun. Whatever, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, as the old man down the street used to say. Actually, I don't know any old men down the street. Anyway, don't change the subject.
Then, after 48 hours, the game stops. Done. Some message about weekends, or schedules, or betas, whatever. I don't play video games to read. I play video games to pwn dragons. So, now, for like 310 hours or however many there is between Sunday and Friday, I can't even freakin' LOG IN. I sit there angry and bitter, giving my dog dirty looks and occasionally accusing her of things that she couldn't possibly have done and are obviously not her fault. I go through physical, mental and emotional withdrawal. Standard stuff. My hands shake. I eat too much chocolate. I listen to old school metal ballads. I read Buddhist meditation manuals. Suffering. Because Square Enix can't get their s**t together and release a game that works for more than 48 hours.
Are we even getting re-compensated for this?
