    FRC Heavy Scatter gun change
"FRC Heavy Scattergun – We have heard the complaints that the current version has nothing really unique about it that makes it a compelling choice. So, we are going back into it and increasing the number of pellets that it fires back up to 12, but dropping the damage per pellet to compensate for that. The overall damage if you hit with every pellet will be about the same as before."

Am I the only one who read "about the same as before" as before the prior nerf? I see quite a few people complaining about the proposed change saying that it will just make it more useless if you have to hit with all the pellets just to stay at the same damage output and that is not how I am reading it at all. From what I read if you hit will all pellets then the damage output will be comparable with what it originally did. Please tell me I am not the only one who read it this way.

P.S. Please try not to hijack the thread with a discussion of SAWs/Infectors.

How I read it was that the dmg of 12 pellets will do the same dmg as 8 pellets but I could totally be wrong

Yes I imagine they are saying about the same damage as before the nerf otherwise they really are incompetent.

I read "about the same as before" to mean before the incoming nerf. The part where it says " dropping the damage per pellet" makes me think the damage output will be the same as it is now but the gun will shoot more pellets that each do less damage.
This gives the gun the potential to be worse than it is now.

lol so they are making the heavy scattergun do less damage then a regular scattergun how could that possibly make sense. It's trion I know but I just don't see it.

Anyone else read it this way? Or is everyone involved in the heated SAW debate, where no solid numbers were used?

Umm yes I'm getting the same thing out of it that you're.

While they provide some numbers it could be read as either a buff, nerf or no real change. I'm reserving judgement on this one until I see the change and how it plays out. Hoping it's a bit of a buff, but we'll see.

At least I am not he only one then. Considering the response of most people, I thought I might be losing it there for a bit. perhaps their outlook is tainted by the rest of the proposed changes. Well the SAW and the nano proc anyways...

No. The statement "about the same as before" is regarding the current damage. When they decrease the damage per pellet but increase the amount of shot, it will be the "same as before" the changes. They're not changing it back to the way it was before the major nerf. If they were to do that, they wouldn't be dropping the damage. They would ONLY be increasing the shot amount back to 12. This is not the case.

What does this mean? It means you have to hit with all 12 pellets to get the same amount of damage as you would have with 8 before. It's a nerf in disguise.
