“Play the Game. Join the Show" - all players do not have an equal chance

I believe the new contest, “Play the Game. Join the Show”, is not equal for all players.

After registering, you have to complete the most "major arkfalls" within the time-frame (7/8/13 - 7/30/13).

Basically this means, whomever can play the most during the time, has the best chance at winning (yes there will be a facebook contest to get the final winner from the 10 players with the highest arkfalls completed).

I do not think this is very fair for "all" players of the game, and something like this should be fair for all.

Why not a contest where all you need to do is "login" during the time-frame for a chance? Where the "chance" is a random drawing. One char login registers the account for the contest. If multiple chars on an account, only one will be entered (chosen by the player). I think this would be a very fair contest - the chance of a player not being able to login for nearly a month is probably very very low, and the contest should be for "active" players - not biased on how active they are.

On a side note...this is at least the second time they've had multiple 'events' going on in the game during the same time, which can interfere with one or the other - this time, they've got the Season 1 missions open again during the time of the above contest. This hinders player's abilities to participate in BOTH events.

You don't get to be in the show.

Its sucks because I want my guy to be on the show. But I don't have the time/will power to put in the time to knock off Arkfall events.

To thouse who sacrifice the time to do so or have a lifestyle fitted to allow them to do so, then good for them.

So be it if they earn it.

Such is life.

Im guessing most people would rather earn money at work or spend quality time out socialising or at the gym etc. Rather than no life some arkfalls to get on a tv show that hardly anyone watches.

I'd love to get my character on the show, but I don't intend to turn Defiance into a second job just so I can try to compete with people that have more free time than I do. It is a 3 week period though and I imagine it'll be difficult for anyone to hold up a fast pace throughout the entire event. So I'll do my arkfalls and just maybe slow and steady will win the race.

I know it's very unlikely, but that's fine with me. If my character did make it to the show, he'd have to bump Tommy out of the picture for some special time with Irisa and I doubt that that would go over well.

1. It took me 2.5 hours to knock out the replay content. That isn't that much down time.
2. The top 10 players are almost definitely going to be account sharing teams anyway.
3. Nobody said it should or would be fair, they are rewarding players for playing the game. If you don't play that much then you don't deserve that much in their mind. This goes to the most die hard fans that make as much time as possible to play (in theory, it won't in reality, see 2).
4. Yes it would be AWESOME to have a more fair contest to get on the show, but this method is fine, too. Much better than the last contest where the way to win was to play a single hour of the game.

Well, the contest rules are bad enough but did anyone read the stipulations for your character? Basically some random guest star, of which the winner has zero creative control, will have the winner's in-game name.

That's it. To me, that's pointless. If I were to win this I want my character in the game, not just some arbitrary character made up by the writers that they tack my name onto.

Everything about this contest stinks.

Exactly. TRION obviously doesn't care about being fair though otherwise they wouldn't make their contests only winnable if you have no life. It's probably meant as a way to get players back since a large amount of people probably stopped playing.

How? It won't take people a month to finish the ep missionsand those who already did them probably don't care.
