Cross platform character ports? And twitch chat.

I have been enjoying the show and the game. I have it for Xbox. I recently got a new PC and I would be willing to buy the game for PC if I could also port my Xbox character. I have heard that this will never be possible. I haven't heard anyone explain why this would be so difficult/impossible to do. I downloaded a trial version for PC and it looks so much better with my new graphics card.

On a side note, did anyone have a hard time chatting on twitch last night? I was hoping to have a chance to win a free copy of Defiance for PC. I watched the entire across the badlands waiting for chat to load. Nothing... Kind of a bummer. Love the show though still.
