Dispite Defiance being only $13 on Steam right now... it's still not worth it!! Do not waste $13!! As a PC title, this game fails in almost every possible way. Just to touch on a few points...

Mouse speed tied to framerate.
Entire tiny map is boring, there is nothing to explore. At all.
Vehicles.... bad.
Controls better on xbox controller. go figure.
All missions are boring.
Lack of PC graphics settings.
NO meaningful patches.

There are F2P games that make this turd look bad. Please do not waste your money!

EDIT:

The intention of this thread was simply to warn any potential PC Shooter players that this game is not good. It's a really bad port, plain and simple. I'll admit that for $13... you may find it's tolerable for a night or two. Casuals/consolers will say they love it, it's better with friends, troll, Umad? etc... but for PC Shooter Players, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. There is supposedly a free trial, use it before you pay!

For 10€/13$, the game is OK.

How do I go about getting the inventory slots,outfits and stuff?
I have not gotten anything,and there is nothing in the store claim section??

Sorry for your purchase!... but to help ease the pain I'll try to help you. You need to redeem them from the store or something like that, can't exactly remember... but if you look around for a redeem codes or something similar you will find it.

You need to make sure the Upgrade is applied to your trion account through the trion website, then everything should be available through the store.

If that doesn't get you going, I would suggest you contact support.

You got me! I was so caught up in my massive butt hurt qq I didn't read the ******ed misplaced question entirly. I sorry. FYI, I bought this game 2 months ago... I'm no longer mad. Was I? Of course! Just checking for meaningful patches which there are none. So I provide a warning to all who may be considering this game.

The game (has? had?) alot of potential... but it will never be realized. Please don't fanboi up the PSA. Feel free to argue with facts.

I wouldn't call a 10*5 km map tiny. And for the nothing to explore, IIRC, the map is not a giant white cube with nothing inside.

I've known many games that didn't deserved 10 bucks when they came out (WarZ or the last Sim City for example). Clearly, Defiance is not one of them. It has an entertaining story, it's in open-world, and after buying the game, there's nothing else to buy (aside from DLCs ofc). I can understand u mad because you paid 40 bucks for the game when it came out, but that mad ? Man, you really have to chill out :)

FPS drops.. at max, I will get ~90 fps, if this drops to 60 there is noticible increase to mouse speed. This is only with Vsync off.

Map. You are correct, the map is not a hollow cube. However there is nothing interesting to find...in the first half an hour you have seen all you will see.

Vehicles. Ok, glad you like it.

Patches. I mean patches to fix all the technical problems. DLC is of no interest to me if gameplay is terrible.

The mad comments. LOL, a truly original arguement for the awesomeness of this game. Ask yourself, why would someone buy this game and be mad?

Perhaps the message should be... buy this game while it's $13 cuz it isn't worth any more?

Yea,IO managed to find a key in the steam download log..then input it manually in the trion account management...not exactly intuitive...but problem solved :D

The game is worth $13 so i don't get all the QQ. Since release they have patched and fixed what they can and the DLC is coming soon. I will agree to find things or how to do things isn't as easy as most games but here is an idea.

If you don't like the game don't play it, simple. Why waste time posting QQ about it? I for one like it and don't think it's the best game around but is definitely enjoyable imho.

@ 4600 Ego and need to level weps to 5000 now since i can't level anymore. It can get repetitive but being in a clan and playing with mates makes the game a TOTALLY different experience.

And apparently liking a game a few loud mouths who have nothing better to do in life than hang around a forum to a game they hate is being blind, i bought the game during the steam sale and yes it has alot of problems but noway is it a pile of garbage as you claim it is, im sorry you paid full price for it but for 66% off the RRP its a pretty good game, to me anyway.

Amazon has this on sale for $11.50 if that extra $1.50 means anything to anyone.

Yes, 60 is great.... my complaint is that the mouse sensitivity is tied directly to the framerate with vSync off.
