Trion Between a rock and a hard place
Is where I think trion is at. With all the bad press and the bleeding of players like a mortal wound.

If the dlc was realy ready to drop at end of the month. Good business would dictate they be hypeing it up in order to regain some of the lost players generate new ones. As well as stem the tides atleast somewhat of the disheartened players that's still in game.

The only real reason from a business sence to not be hypeing it, Is its not ready and wont be by the projected time frame. So they keep still and quiet in order to grab what little cash they can before the next levy of players breaks away because of another delay.

That's just the way of corperate business and sure they are game developers and such but they are still underfoot of cooperate business rules. Is it sad yes . Is it shady hell yes. But its still just business.

The dlc release is already set in a lot of minds to either revive the game or be the final straw. And dosnt matter who is at fault for that players themselves or trion my guess alittle of both.

And if it was truly that close to release and trion was sure it was going to be by the end of july. Buisness would dictate they hype the hell out of it for sales boosts. And to rebuild some lost trust.

But with the shear amount of effort they are putting into dancing around any kind of locked down time frame. It most likely means they know its not going to happen when projected and would rather ride the tide out from behind closed doors.

Than to inform people and let them know whats going on and start the title wave early.

This is just my oppion do not claim it to be everyones. And no I am no game developer. But I have ran a successful business for going on 17 years and one thing I do know unhappy customers means less business and revenue.

And as a business if you have something to appease your customers and generate large new revenues you sell it and hype it . If you don't you keep quiet until you do. Or until you close the doors wich ever happens first.

Your initial assessment is not true for many companies, especially in the wake of some gaming companies having hyped things that it was later proven they lied about. They have shown some tidbits from what we will get in the future at E3 and elsewhere but I don't want them to hype anything. A lot of gaming companies now never release actual trailers until just before the content goes live-maybe only 1 day before.

Good business actually dictates that they show real footage of actual gameplay when the content is ready to be kicked out the door, when it's up on the servers, and when it can be individually purchased. People want content, not hype.

No insult intended here. It's just that a lot of people felt burned by one devs' use of a whole lot of lying hype for another game (not made by Trion and not any Trion dev). It helps no one.

They are completely clueless. And with 1.024 they just angered a large portion of their current playerbase by completely ignoring any feedback.

I agree the game is the Titanic and this DLC is the Ice berg. If we hit it the games sunk if we miss it well we might get the other 4 DLC but this company lost a lot of respect for this little venture. Rift was grade A this more like a grade C game.

Oh I agree a lot of companies hold back on trailers and hype until ready. But trions difference is even tho they say they havnt hyped it. They did espeacily in the early days of the game. Also the companies that does hold back on the hype are generaly in a position to do so.

Meaning they arnt bleeding players . But with the bad press and many players that seem unhappy. ( and I don't mean just these forums just google defiance threads ) Trions in a tight spot atm.

Not to mention Richards himself already said the dlc was droping late july. On a international platform no less. They dug their on hole. If its not ready they cant realy say that as its going to cause serious backlash.

But if it was ready they would almost have to be hypeing it to rebuild player loyalties.

So they stay quiet no real information given at all. Atleast that way they have deniability in some form. And are still able to gain revenue from cash shop purchases until the levy breaks.

Its the only real reason to stay quiet.

    First off:Hype means schtako!

Second: It's Tidal Wave. Not title wave.

Third: They have been showing stuff off. Facebook has the concept art for weapons being posted every couple days. They had a build running the DLC at E3.

Fourth: How can you run a business without being able to spell Corporate? My guess, you're really a 20 something trying to sound big and bad on the intertubes because it's the cool thing to do.

Finally, I'm glad they aren't showing everything coming up right off the bat. I would love to be able to find stuff on my own. I saw a Monolith arkfall in a video.....I nearly jizzed my pants.

Well, there's a difference between hype and just plain talk. Hyping means you go to extremes, use hyperbole, to exaggerate something. Talk about it, they've done that, but when they do a certain vocal segment (I have no proof of any numbers as to who has stayed and who has left the game) will rip it all apart. Apparently if Trion says "you will like the DLC" that's code for the DLC will be the best thing you've ever seen and some players will yell about Trion being big fat liars.

I learned patience. I believe people have none today. And yes, my patience is limited but I'm not going to have some sort of major attack because a game company didn't release DLC on time. I will however be a good consumer and act unemotionally when a company has failed to deliver. Given how everything is blown out of proportion these days (and in this forum and every other gaming forum), I'm surprised that Trion posts anything at all. Most game devs ignore their customers and only release announcements when they want to sell something. And in at least one other forum, a game's rep would regularly insult players and tell them to just leave if they didn't like the game. Or they'd ban them if they complained about the game.

Rarely, if ever will a business side with a minority. Otherwise, the world would be a much better place.

Trion's End of Nations rebranded as a MOBA

Trion is fast turning into the 'Can't Do' company.

This other game, End of Nations which was supposed to be a MMORTS, was so poorly put together that they had to dice it all up, boil it down, repackage it and now they are calling it a 'moba', lol. They had another company make most of it, but unfortunately it's their name (Trion) on the box.

I don't think LoL, Starcraft or any other MOBA for that matter has anything to fear from this company.

It's a one-hit wonder (Rift) company and is starting to be seen as such unfortunately.
