I dont think it was activated during beta, but i did see mic icons show up every so often. Does this mean there will be in game voice chat? if so whats the limits? like can you switch between your group chat and guild chat?

Lets hope they have the chat working at launch also lets see if they can implement something where you can talk more than just the 4 people that are in your group. With a game this big not sure why they limit themselves to only 4.
Don't know about guild chat but there was an option to mute both group and area chat so it's safe to assume both those are in the final game. I also wonder how the mics will work once you get in a group. Will you still be able to chat across worlds AND chat with others in your area? It's quite vague on how the chat but they have said that it will be working at launch... *fingers crossed*
lol, ok so this is gonna sound sooo newbish. but I have a blue tooth wireless headset that I use for my ps3 - after a few hours of play it dies an has to recharge. is there some way or some item that I can figure out so its charged for longer so I dont have to drop off vox an have ppl get upset that I cant hear them?
Is it possible to plug it in to charge while you're wearing it?
do you have a pseye? if so it has a 360 degree mic built in so while charging your earbug you have at least a second way to communicate and of course they will be coming through your tv audio.
Other than buying a second cheap earbug you can use while the other is charging or a better quality one that last longer or maybe even going with a wired headset?
thanks all, I do appreciate the input
I hope they fix the chat it worked off and on during the beta but sounded bad when it did work it was very choppy.
Usually you can charge it and use it while it is charging but in honesty it would be easier getting a headset that is wired plus it wont die in 2 hours... to have a longer life span before charge with your mic i woud say keep it on charge for a while longer then.
when I play my ps3 games I run with my bluetooth til it dies, then charge til full - I am new to the ps3 (just got it not even a yr ago, lol an didnt know about being able play online through a console game until about 2 months back-yah am a newb). So yes everyone who has a ps3 I appreciate all the info, cause I truly dont know wth I can do or not do, an what is good or not for tools to get. 7++ yrs of playing on a PC was the only online gaming I ever had experience to.
I hope we get the traditional PC MMO game chat.
Yeah, this is a big issue for me. The chat needs a little work. It was extremely difficult to work with. I am hoping the launch version of chat will be a lot easier to use, and have a useable reply system included as well.
Having proper working voice chat is pretty much a necessity I'd think. It's gonna be a sticking point with me on whether I buy or not.
I would rather someone use quick emotes or text than the PS Eye they sound horrible. Just saying ....
Im pretty sure their will be some kind of "area chat" maybe. I mean DCUO has proximity chat.
well if your using a pseye I would recommend actually bring that closer to you and not leaving it next to the TV where the volume will drown you out.
Nope. they have already made clear there will be no area or proximity chat at all. They did mention clan and group chat though. We are just not sure what that will be like. I would imagine that it will not cross to other shards, but any clan members in your shard will be able to talk to each other.
ahh they should have all clan members in your clan to be able to chat with one another.
