Any reasons to get 360 version over PC?
My husband thinks that now is the time for me to finally get a PC that can run games nicely (just have my laptop now). He will not get the 360 version after playing the PC version of Defiance. The PC version looks so far superior graphically that the 360 version just looked sad.

Gamestop said I could cancel my pre-order so it doesn't matter. I am really torn on new-PC vs. who cares and just get Defiance on Xbox.

    My Pro's for 360 are:
    -I like the Xbox community
-I don't have to drop like $1000 before Tuesday to play

    ....I don't have much.

    My Pro's for New-PC are:
    -game will look nicer
-more people will communicate because everyone will definitely have a keyboard hooked up
-I can use the 360 controller anyway
-Game will be probably updated more often to run better (like how BL2 on PC had problems fixed months ago that still are problems on 360... sigh)
-I can use the PC for tons of other stuff too so why not?

I can't decide. And, the money reason for the 360 doesn't matter but it was the best excuse I could think of. And I think maybe the PC community will end up being more active anyway.... it's like I can't think of a reason to NOT use this as my excuse to get a PC....

Please help me! Convince to keep my 360 pre-order and not to get a PC right now, listing enough reasons to make my Pro's for PC not sound like a big deal. I am horrible at decision making......

I wonder if there's ANYONE with a capable PC who will get the Xbox version...
Why are YOU getting it on Xbox? Just lack of a PC?

I have an amazing Alienware computer but I'm getting the 360 version because that is where I do all my other gaming. I only play MMO's on the cp but since Defiance is coming on the 360 I'm giving it a chance because it means great things in the future for console MMO's. Plus all my friends are there so that helps.

That and you don't have to keep feeding a console expensive video card & processor updates.
Yes Graphics will look better on PC (if you have one that can handle it) but at the end of the day graphics aren't the be all and end all to me. Revenge of Stick was stick men and I still loved it.

Same, i have a GTX690 graphics card and can run everything on my pc till the cows come home, but my xbox is where i do all my gaming with friends and family as not everyone can afford a PC capable of running it, and theres no point in buying a pc that can JUST run it theres no point cause that will be out of date in a few weeks..

You get it where your friends are, who cares where it looks better... Better graphics != good game, your friends = good game.

Got my 360 copy today after per-ordering through game.co.uk, I've per-installed the game on my Xbox and find the graphics look fine to me, it is my first time playing an mmo on an Xbox as I've always had a PC, but I sold my PC and got an Xbox for Christmas, and my laptop can't really handle the game. But all in all, I'm guessing there will be less bugs and crashes than a PC. I have always found no matter what graphic card you have on a PC that all new games never run at full settings without problems. Not until the game is at least 2 years old and faster cards are out, because game makers always push graphic cards to the limit while making the games.

I preordered the xbox360 ultimate edition simply because loading up games is almost instant, I jused to be a heavy PC gamer back in the dorm room days. But now I just run with whatever is easier to load, jump in play awhile/fun then log out.

As for graphics between this Definace game on xbox/pc I have no idea which might be better. I am thinking about just buying the game for PC as well.

but id like to think that console would have more pull from the game creators since they would want to the larger audience.

have not played the Definace game yet, no idea what to expect and not going in really expecting anything. Ive heard about the game at the last minute and was able to preorder at gamestop.

I'll prob just go preorder the ultimate edition for PC today just to have it, incase the console population doesnt last. Also the preorder bonus items seem pretty good. Ultimate because of the overall content package.

Im honestly kinda on the fence about the whole Defiance thing, excited about it but I donno if this thing will really take a perma foot hold and make billions. The scenes from the SyFy show look pretty good the actors they picked imo are worldclass outstanding amazing especially the alien red head girl (smokin sexy hot). I viewed a clip and fell in love with her but the rest? I donno will have to wait and see the episodes to really know.

the game looks pretty good excited about it otherwise I wouldnt fork over 149.99 and prob today another 149.99 for the pc version too. So thats two copies of the game 1 for my xbox and 1 for my pc.

Which one I"ll play more of? I honestly donno havent even played beta or alpha whatever they are calling it.

One thing is for certain that I will be looking for is...........an amazing story that hits epic on many levels. Both from the show and also the game.

My favorite game developers are bethesda & bioware and this is my first trion game. Most of my friends are 50/50 some on xbox and some on pc. And only 1 that I know will be playing Defiance on PC and she has a very very strong guild thats been around for decades its seems.

back to topic Im running with the Xbox360 version first ~ and pc version second. I think both versions will do well. How well? no idea the hype seems high around the interents but only time will tell.

If the show is available on iTunes I would like to purchase a subscription if that becomes available because work I travel/ipad to not miss any episodes.

if u plan to join the PC master race please note the following.

always build your own PC from the ground up never buy it pre built.

makesure you know how to keep a gameing machine maintained and running smoothly, cleaning cooling fans / case fans new thermal paste every 6 months on CPU / GPU (yes a real pc gamer will have large hours logged and its nice to have fresh thermal paste).

never buy the cheapest parts because its cheap go for high quality parts they will last u a good 2.5-3 years if you overclock and maintain it well (and by this point games will only just start to use the power your rig has) and by this poitn u can upgrade again.

only overclock if u know how to maintain the system after overclocking, or you can run it into the ground fast.

spend money on decent gameing mice / keyboards Xbox controllers are no way near as accurate as a high end gameing mouse.

get a decent desk in a room with good curtains to block out sunlight so no glare, also have good air flow (room temp affects core temps).

    decent moniter with atleast 1920 x 1080 resoloution (its 2013 ppl !! )

now as for why you should get it on PC, well have u ever played CoD black ops 2 player base. enough said.

how ever if you dont want to spend $1000 dollers get the Xbox version, reason why consoles are so popular is because any idiot can buy 1 and play it with no effort or maintainance needed. where as PC time spent looking after machine = rewarded with super mega awesome graphics and freedom unmatched by a console. (saying that a $600 machine could play it well then again i am english so i have no idea what $1000 can buy you.

This, this is why I gave up on the 'PC Master Race', what a load of elitist tripe.

Honestly I've seen the game on PC and Console and other than some animation issues in large groups (which most low end PCs will have anyway) the textures and visual appearances are quite tight on both. So please get over yourselves already.

And here is a shiny forum bomb for the 'PC Master Race' out there... Buy a Mac it works and you can play your Windoze games on it too.

Could play this on the PC but like the idea of being able to sloth about on the couch playing it. Also I can play it on a 50 inch or 150 inch screen. On the PC stuck to a 26 inch monitor as its no where near the tv or the projector and the Xbox is easier to move about.

Comfort level > gameplay > graphics. For me anyway on this occasion

If it was me and didn't have two kids to feed. I would play on what ever my wife as playing on. If your buying a pc your need a good one, not just one that will play this game but games to come as well. Its a lot of money, if you and your partner got it on 360 what else could treat your self to with the money ?

Agree'd! Without a doubt all gamers know that PC is a superior platform for gaming, but the community jam packed with elitest are far from "The Master Race" when it comes to gaming. A real gamer doesn't care what platform you're playing on as long as you're enjoying yourself. So to answer your question OP, Yes the PC will more than likely run it better, but all I can say is prepare yourself for that community.

Yeah you also don't have to worry about the gfx cards drivers not working properly after a patch. It gets old fast rolling back drives or finding the best beta driver.

I have a pretty good PC built from the ground up (IF you plan on going that route, I would suggest doing the same) and I bought the 360 version. I used to do gaming on nothing but my PC but recently have switched it up and I probably haven't used it in a good two months. I bought the 360 version out of general convenience. Defiance just screams late nights, caffeine, and a comfortable couch set up to me. As I have a lot of downtime next week, it would probably be good on my back that I didn't go with the PC version personally. Just think really hard about that decision, I wouldn't make such an extreme one if all I had in mind was one game. If you feel you want to buy a capable PC, think about the big picture and not the small one.

i gave up on the whole pc gaming thing.. pcs are very anti social compared to xbox or ps3.. you can sit on the sofa and play and have your friends around you watching etc.. no ones wants to hunch over a desk for hours.. i honestly dont miss the back pain from playing pc games ;p i also dont miss spening £400 on a GFX card every year.

im sure the graphics are a little better on pc, but that in no way says the graphics on either xbox or ps3 are bad...another thing i dont get is that people assume the pc will get updates first. ive played alot of games that are cross platform. and it is my experience that general game updates/title updates are launched at the same time for all 3. if the pc version has a hang up and the other 2 dont, when they update to fix the pc bug it isnt a chance to say "hey console kids look pc is better we got a update", its saying your stuff sucks and broke first lol. i'll even go one step further and say there are a few games that give xbox games updates and dlc weeks before pc or ps3.
