No and they haven't responded to contact I made about the issue. Apparently it is common for Namco not to respond. They never responded to Dan Webb from the x360a site for a review copy so no review will take place there. Ironically another guy who was going to do the review despite the lack of response, was getting the UE edition. Now that has been delayed there will probably be no review on x360a, which is a shame. Could have been a good site to get a review from seen as it is so popular.

This is what I eventually got from Amazon. After 5pm on Good Friday is a bit late as well fella.

    Hello,

After reviewing our previous correspondence with you, please accept my apologies for any misunderstanding caused.

This situation was the result of a human error, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please allow me to try to provide a resolution for you.

I understand that you wish to know whether you can place an order for 'Defiance (with Definitive Pre-order Pack)' and then return it for a refund when you receive a "Defiance: Ultimate Edition".

I can confirm that you can return the Defiance (with Definitive Pre-order Pack) for a refund when you receive a "Defiance: Ultimate Edition".

For items sold by or fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk, our 30-day returns guarantee means that you can return an item to us in its original condition within 30 days of the date you received it.

If the returned item is in its original packaging and condition, we'll issue a full refund for the price that you paid for it. We will, however, also accept the return of incorrect or defective merchandise which meets the guidelines below.

Visit our Returns Support Centre to be guided through our full policy and to obtain a printable personalised return label:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/returns-support

Simply wrap the package securely and send it to us according to the instructions provided on the returns page.

If you're able to print your personalised return label, please enclose the barcode and fix the address label to the outside of the parcel. If you don't have a printer, make sure to enclose a copy of your packing slip or a note showing your order number.

Once we've received the item at our Fulfilment Centre, we'll issue you with the appropriate refund. Refunds usually go through within 2 to 3 business days and we'll send you confirmation by e-mail when it's complete. Please note, this does not include your bank's processing time.

After receiving this confirmation e-mail, you can view the refund details on the Order Summary in Your Account (http://www.amazon.co.uk/your-account). Completed refunds will appear at the bottom of an individual order summary page.

You can also view a short video guide on how to return your item:

Please see the following Help page for additional information about returns and refunds:

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Warmest regards,
    Karthick A.

I agree that any retailer offering to refund the purchase price is trying to do some good customer service. However, keep in mind that they aren't eating $60. That's MSRP and what the public pays. Their cost could be significantly lower enough that they will make a lot more money by keeping their UE pre-orders than just losing them to cancellations and selling the standard copy. Either way, good customer service. Just don't think that they're getting as impacted as you believe.

I would ask if it can be returned if it's been opened and played. To me, "in its original condition" means unopened and sealed.

I've updated the first post with questions.

Giltec, be careful with that email there is no mention of them accepting it back if it's opened, just in original condition. I'm a little concerned over whether amazon will honour these emails from customer service. My SE still hasn't been dispatched so thinking of cancelling the lot and getting it from tesco on the day and forgetting the UE altogether.

Also in response to post earlier by dixa, even if you install the game to your xbox you need the disk in the drive to actually play it, otherwise everyone would just do what you say, install and sell the game for everything that;s installable.

I asked that fella and that is the response I got. Was just posting to show what I had been told. I've pre-ordered the standard edition from Game anyway and it has been dispatched.

Don't worry, not that daft yet ;) Despite the problems with delivery, I am still willing to support the game so have two copies ordered. My son can have the second one once the question of pre-order codes is sorted with Trion.

Oh and thanks for updating the first post.

no problem, it was a good idea to let them see quickly what questions they are not going to answer. I've convinced a few friends to get this game, so i have to stick with it, but i feel like not bothering with it at all after all of this.

I know what you mean but think about it this way.. You just saved yourself £25ish if you get the SE. (as long as you dont buy the season pass)

Right, that might be the answer you got, but they could just as easily deny you returning it later since it's not in original packaging. They gave you a canned response more or less. I would want them to write in a response email that they will take it back if it's opened, not in original packaging.
