I hope the crafting system involves recipes....like have the synergy mods be a recipe drop that drops off of enemies the same as loot. Example: I kill a 99er and walk over the corpse to collect my ark salvage and loot. One of the loot drops is a somewhat rare "recipe" for the Assassin synergy mods for pistols. Now I would have the ability to craft the Assassin mods for pistols. Even if I don't have a pistol with Assassin, I could lend my services out while I'm looking. I would now have to look at the recipe and see what I have to harvest to make it.
It could be something like you have to collect a certain amount of whatever items(gulanite, metal, coal) and then craft the mod. I could go to Iron Demon, turn on my mic and advertise to people that I have crafted several assassin synergy mods for sale. This would create a really cool economy within the game. People would be adding each other as friends simply to keep in touch with the guy that crafts stalker mods for smg's, or the quartermaster shotgun crafter that you met at Kenn Farm. haha Okay, I'm getting way too into the world of defiance. I do like this idea though
Can you imagine the trading and business you could do with your clanmates? There would be certain clanmates that would be the only guy(s) in the clan that can craft a certain mod because he's the only one that got that recipe drop. Others would have different recipe drops they could do business with. My brother brought this up today and I thought it was a brilliant idea. I hope the crafting system they introduce is somewhat similar to this.
