How much microsoft points will bits cost, and how much will you get?
also would like to know
Mm this is a question I think everyone is wondering about.
If i had to guess i would say it's an even transition...
All the items in the shop (aside from boosts) were all price out to MSP standards i.e
80, 160, 240 etc.
That being the case, my guess would be 80 Bits per Dollar. Same games MS and others play to make it feel like you are spending less than you actually are. There was some F2P game I checked out recently where they went the opposite way, $1 = 120 store currency, which I think is better, because it makes you feel like you are getting more for the dollar and when you weigh th cost of things, you know it's going to be less in dollars than a 1pt = 1 cent translation.
Sounds fantastic. I'll take 1.21 jiggawatts.
I think 80 bits per dollar is way to low.
They cost a bit. :D :D :D :D :D :D
When they explained how much ultimate edition is worth, the community kinda made an conclusion of 1k is 10 bucks.
Do like SOE does with Planetside 2 and do some double/tripple bits days and everyone is happy! Those with lots of money just pay when they feel like, and the rest can wait for those special days.
I would guess at something like 160ms points for ~100 bits.
By the amount of bits you get with certain sets and the amount they state in value for the extra stuff in UE I believe that 40 bits will equal a dollar. As the Beta testers were given 4000 bits to play with and that was said to be a good bit of money, which at a 4:1 4000 bits is a $100. Depending on the vendor pricing that could be some steep investment.
$20 = 1400 Bits
$20 = 1600 ms points
The correct Bits per MS point is in there somewhere...
80 is fine 100 is pretty.
Right, but like all the professional sports players, GM's, coaches say "That's business"
They won't cater a F2P game with cheap transactions through MS and the store. In my opinion, a cheap store would boost sales and get Trion more money rather than heavy transactions with few spenders.
Hi everyone,
Here is what I have gathered so far.
400 Bits - cost $5
1,800 Bits - cost $20
5,200 Bits - cost $50
11,200 Bits - cost $100
Minor boosts for experience, in-game money, loot, reputation, and skills cost between 30 and 60 Bits.
Three different types of vehicles, the Growler ATV, the Hannibal ATV, and the Nomad truck, cost 240, 400, and 600 Bits respectively.
Vanity head pieces cost 150 Bits while vanity outfits cost 240.
Additional inventory cost between 160 (for 5 slots) and 510 Bits (for 15 slots).
Finally, lockboxes were for sale as well. Although lockboxes can be purchased in game for keys and salvage found in game, they can also be purchased from the Defiance Store. A “Tier 2” lockbox costs 80 Bits and will have two uncommon or better items in it. A “Tier 3” box costs 160 Bits and will have three uncommon or better items, and a “Tier 4” lockbox will have four uncommon or better items inside. What items players receive is random.
Like with the lockboxes, it’s also important to consider that most of what is available in the store can be found elsewhere for free. Additional inventory is available through ark hunter rewards, an ATV is provided to the player shortly after the tutorial is finished, and some alternative head gear can be purchased with in-game money. As a player progresses through the game, more vehicles can be purchased with in-game cash, more outfits become available, and much more.
(Please note that the conversion rate and the individual prices are subject to change considering the values were taken from a beta and I have of yet no info on conversion to MS points).
Best Regards,
Mark Thun
Do we know how many bits you can buy at a time? Like bundles of 100, 500, 1000 etc..
Thanks to everyone here for clarifying this for me.
At the beginning of the beta they were listed on the cash vendor page - really wish I could remember what the amount of script per purchase was but I do not.
They did go in tier though. 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dollar amounts. With the quick glance I gave them it showed that larger tier gave some savings, so a 20 dollar would be cheaper per bit than the 5 dollar one.
If they want money coming in regular - Mods and weapons will be added to the store.
Promises aside by any company, if they want to make money, adding guns and mods will generate more money than any cosmetic or boost item and regular "increases" in ammo size or damage etc, will keep people coming back. Not so much pay to win, but will give the user a top weapon from start kinda of thing.
They may not do it.... but I would'nt be surprised if they did.
If I were able to "choose" I would say according to the beta prices, 200 bits per dollar would be the price I would set.
I am by no means a financial analyst, accountant or anything like that. I'm not even sure if I am using the correct terms, I am just trying to point out an additional element.
While I agree that this is very important for all concerned, but I also have to wonder what the prices will be in regard to "cost vs. saving" ratio. If they were to charge 500 bits vs. 50 bits for a helmet, that will make the cost vs. savings ratio insanely low. In that case: 1000 bits will deplete a lot faster, thereby yielding very low savings. I'm hoping for good, large bundles, but if the costs of the items/goods are insanely high, the benefits of the bundles, dwindle.
im ready to buy some bits :D
I'm not sure where those figures came from, but if they're from the rates that were showing in-game during the beta I think I've seen sledge saying since then (maybe on his twitter?) that they hadn't decided on final rates at that point; so they may be subject to change.
