why the servers should open!

I know alot of people have recieved their copy of the game early and there all a little annoyed they have to wait untill the 2nd to play, i am one of those people. But why should people pay for a game that you cannot play as soon as you have it in your possesion?

I know its not scheduled for release untill the 2nd and not everyone who has bought the game has got their copy yet and its not the game makers fault but why should the people who do own it have to wait?

This is my opinion i welcome yours but please do not "troll" or moan like little children because you havent got your copy yet in pure jelousy :) thankyou

this argument is answered by no one getting their physical copies early and no pre-downloads and lots of people potentially not getting their copy on time so that no one complains of this "problem" of getting the game too early.

It is a bonus you have the game before launch not unfair that the servers aren't open early.

It wouldn't be fair and I'm not moaning like a child. It's the way it works as you bought the game knowing you couldn't play until the 2nd. So who is being a child asking for things you know your never going to get?

i think about it, but there are some other Mmorpg that had the same when they opened there servers.
It needs to be ready, that's why they choose one date and no Early access.

Some other mmorpg done it like Guild wars 2 and Tera, but they got a lot of issue, because they didn't saw the numbers of players.

now that Trion is focusing on the players.
they can probably make the server open, withouth any issue's or we can't play a lot of days.

Diablo 3 was one of the game's, where i was raging.

Some poeple have already a copy, I need still to wait for my copy and i think it's gonna be later than the release because of easter.

it's friday today and TNT Post in holland took free today and tommorow they gonna be free again, sunday and monday to.

WTH Holland what is it about the post.

I've highlighted the reasons why you can't play it yet.

The release date has been set well before you got your copy. You knew the release date would be the second of April, regardless of when you got your copy. Why would they suddenly need to change their date(And call people in over a holiday weekend) because you want to play a game you KNEW wasn't out yet when you purchased it?

Sorry mate, but they should leave the servers shut down until EVERYONE has their copy (ie. Apr 2nd release date). I really don't want to enter the game and find that people have already got a huge jump start (running around with the ridiculous blue boom weapon, etc.).

I got a copy of the game.And this question has been asked and answered several weeks ago.And we already know that servers won't be available until april 2nd.And yesterday we got the time.There no point to ask or to argue about this...:cool:

Brick and mortar stores cannot legally break street date. So no there will be no head start for defiance

First of all, you DON'T own the game. You 'own' a key that allows you access to the game WHEN the servers are up. That's the tricky thing about online games. Having the disc doesn't mean you can play the game.

lets hope the UK servers dont open till 5am or somthing stupid so us guys who have to goto the store get chance to get on early too!

You get pre-purchase bonuses which give you an edge at the start of the game, versus other people who didn't pre-purchase. Isn't that good enough?

The answer has nothing to do with "fairness" or anything like that.

It's business---the company has planned to start up the servers at 12:01A EDT on the 2nd. I'm sure that they've arranged extra staff for that night to ensure that the start up goes smoothly.

Are you suggesting that they should change all of their staffing plans, etc simply because some retailers have delivered the game earlier than expected?

just having the option to play it would be good enough im not asking for a head start. id happily play and on release date have it all reset. And the waiting doesnt bother me either, i dont just sit around on games 24/7 like some. Probably like some of you who have posted. I understand why there not open so theres no point telling me "why" I cant! I only gave my opinion on what i thought. I say again OPINION not demands, just so some of you understand..

@Amnesia not at all mate, I understand what your saying. Im just saying in my opinion if youve paid and have it you should be able to play. I know thats not going to happen ovcourse but maybe they should have put some sort off offline feature into the game knowing that some retailers mess up and send them out too early. But again i know that they would so wishful thinking i geuss

They shouldn't be opened until release day because you shouldn't have gotten your game before release day.

I wouldn't mind having the servers wiped at the official launch so that no one has a head start or advantage. Maybe people that have their copies early should just be allowed access to the beta again? Like i keep saying I only put my opinion out there, whether people agree with me or not im not really bothered.

I didn't play the beta so even when i started and if i got all of those extras you would or many people would have over taken me anyway as i would still be figuring how everything works probably.

doesnt take a rain surgeon to figure things out.... i know i did :) cept for the salvage matrix lol... confused the hell out of me : / but u dont really use that till later anywyas... unless u run out of invi space :D but with the + slots... that shouldnt be a prob xD

like i said just after that, i couldn't care less if the servers get reset at launch. so when its reset still a head start? no not at all.
and it's not my fault the game arrived early. Your making "clever" remarks to try and prove your point which i was aware off well before you commented. i have a digital copy, have had my key since beta. but since you have yours now the servers should go live/partially live? cmon now, sounds like an 'all about me thread'. seriously, did u really think you were the first or even among the first to get their keys? i realize you dont see the fault in your 'opinion' but this thread made me LOL.

I didn't think I'd be as excited to get back onto it but right now any of the games I have seem to be unable to fill the void Defiance left.

As much as I'd love to play it right now its good to have that excited feeling once again :) Hopefully this time it'll turn out to be for a good reason (Unlike WarZ)

I've got mine sitting here,I don't mind waiting until the 2nd as I have bioshock infinite to finish, I think there making a mistake thou if they wait until the 2nd becoz I bet you there will be a server crash under the stress of everyone going on at the same time. Just my opinion...

I understand the desire to play the game early. I've got the digital version and my client is patched up. But if we get to play early, it means those who can't play will get screwed over. And if you put yourself in their shoes, you know the right thing to do is wait. So no, I think they should stay shut.

that's y guild wars 2 betas always started ahead of annonced time and the game also went live like 3 hours before announced lol.... but that was just arenanet :D and it was only a couple hours just to make sure everyone got to get in by "go time"!

If they were to open the servers today, they would need to call in people that are on holiday.
Those who havent got their copy yet will be annoyed.
There might be some problems regarding the servers solution, as the provider might not start providing servers until the first.
The servers might not be up and running yet.
Its a public holiday

Some of the reasons I could think of

I got all the files downloaded and Im waiting for the servers myself, but not complaining as I knew it would not release until the second of April.

this is a legitimate point as to why there should be a headstart. but im sure their employees want a holiday as well before the launch of a new game. think about if you worked there. dont get me wrong id love an early access weekend, but i fully understand why it wasnt done that way. its not like they didnt know this was a holiday weekend. whatever they have in mind for their staff, im sure this was factored into it.

hes not asking for a headstart... just like an open beta phase.... the toons get wiped either way on live... he just wants to play lol
