When I stopped playing shortly before beta ended small groups of 2-3 people actually had a harder time than if they were solo, and it made bolt action rifles about obsolete since even weak enemies like Mutants and Raiders would no longer die from a headshot. Of course, I heard something about higher crit multipliers being added for bolt action rifles after I stopped playing but I never went back to check it out and see if it made much difference.

But I guess I'll see for myself later today since I just downloaded the trial and let it patch overnight.

I don't think the game is doing too much dynamic scaling of enemy hit-points or damage. Maybe in some areas, mabye they did in the past... but I don't think they are doing that anymore. Not in a way that I notice it. In fact it is one of my complaints since I generally roll with a clan group of 4 and sometimes multiple clan groups that they enemies should be made tougher when more of us are around. The enemies die too fast when many people are shooting them.

Anyway, it is a decent game if you like to play socially with others and are good at making online friends and playing well together.

The biggest example I see of this is at Sutro Tower when working on my 5k BAS kills. If it is just me I can OHK, if someone else comes in it will sometimes take two headshots to put them down...

Or at the raider arc falls....when I am running a crystal solo, 2 shot gun blasts take out a raider. As soon as more people show up, I can unload an entire clip into them before they go down.

Yeah I noticed that too. Was actually annoying because the other guy who came in was killing the enemies that I had hit with the first headshot.

Ouch, that is rough. There are MORE than enough DM troops that they could have found their own. Even if you are farming kills there are 2 different spawns...

I'm not normally one to point out a typo, we all make them from time to time... but I get the idea from the things you post that accuracy is a key for you!

Anyway, for anyone that didn't know already, it takes 20 minutes to reset the mastery instead of 29...

    Carry on!

I wonder if enemy scaling is done based only on hitpoints or if does it affect enemy numbers. Maybe they could scale based more on enemy numbers instead of enemy hitpoints.

Honestly if you have $10 burning a hole in your pocket go for it. You'll get your moneys worth of enjoyment but you'll also shelf the game just as quickly. Lets face is the game is slowly dying. 60+ at arkfalls during the first few weeks mow your lucky to have 20-30 at arkfall and those are just the guys farming keys you'll see the same 20-30 at the next arkfall.

This game did alot of things to many honestly because they tried doing so much that they failed to do anything good.
They took the quantity over quality route with this game and it becomes apparent the more you play it.
Its hodgepodge of half thought out ideas, half done implementation and some ideas that needed to be put back on the drawing board and redone •cough salvage matrix cough•

Honestly save your money in two weeks better games come out buy one of those you will have alot more fun with a few games that have way more polish then this game.

It used to just make more enemies spawn but late in testing it was changed to add HP. I never got an answer as to why, but I'd guess it was to save server resources since it takes less to add to enemy stats than spawn more of them.

Guess I should've mentioned I was an alpha tester since almost day 1, played through most of beta and was planning on buying it at release but I gave up when they made all these changes basically at the last minute.

Heh, that's the opinion a lot of the testers had and the advice we were giving people when they'd ask if the game was worth getting after the NDA was lifted. The game had a lot of potential but most of it was lost when they tried to add too much at one time to meet the release deadline.

If the trial doesn't totally turn me off again I'll probably pick it up anyway though since it's only $10.
