Grinding For Garbage

Apologize upfront for the negativity of this. I have played this game a lot, usually a couple of hours a day for months. I have not gotten a single legendary out of the lockboxes that I wanted. I am constantly grinding keys just to get garbage out of the lock boxes. Especially until the DLC comes out this all I pretty much have left to do.

Even with the trading now people are only looking for their perfect weapon, including myself since I can't find what I want by playing. Even if you do find someone who has what you want a promise of a kidney may not be enough.

I hate trading anyway and would much prefer to just grind away to actually get the items I want.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to modify the loot system? I would imagine there are plenty of people that fit my same situation.

Want a good weapon?
Do what i do... dont play and just visit all vendors every 60 minutes... you will eventually find a good blue/purple there...

Good idea and I already do that. :) It's not really a debate about blue vs purple vs orange. Even though yes there are good items of all color, a good legendary one is still the best. If the legendary weapons are so hard to get why do I keep getting garbage . It's extremely frustrating to finally get an orange after a couple of weeks of grinding specifically for them to have it just be something like a disrupter.

I want to know if there are plans to adjust this so we can grind towards a weapon or item we actually want.

Probably because they're hard to get? As in, their rarity is much higher than "garbage" weapons. As it should be, IMHO.

I find the most frustrating part of the game the fact that both Mods and Weapons are up to luck. Even if you get a really nice weapon, you still need to roll the dice to try to get the exact mods you want. Couldn't they make getting the Mods more of a set process?

ie. you can buy the exact synergy mod type you want but only at a level 1 rating, and to get it to level 3 you need a ton of ark salvage and keys (make it like 10 increments of 75keys to upgrade so 750 keys to get from level I to level II). Or maybe make Canoneer & Assassin 'factions' so you can earn faction credits to buy the mods you want, but only by playing.

I have no problems with grinding, but the lack of a clear path on what i'm doing to get there is disheartening. If we had at least one half of the equation laid out like that, I actually wouldn't mind the drop rates on legendary's staying the same. they are supposed to be the most elusive after all.

The loot may be garbage, but think of it a different way.

Think of it as Scrip and A-Salvage waiting to be converted, and every once/while there's a keeper weapon tossed into the mix.

I think you misunderstood me. I am fine with the drop rate, what I was calling garbage was the legendary weapon I finally receive. Like I said getting something like a legendary disrupter would fall under the garbage category.

Indeed... I misunderstood you. My apologies. But regardless, I kind of think you're getting bent out of shape over something trivial and random. I've seen worse loot systems than this one's in the past.

You may be right but this is the one major thing that keeps me playing at the moment. If I may make the inevitbale comparision to borderlands, in that game I can either usually end up with what I want eventually with out really trying or I can farm it. I like Defiance better except for the loot.

It's so hard to even get a legendary why can I get one nobody wants?

Even just trying to farm for specific items can be impossible sometimes due to the RNG. For example it took me almost two just to find a fire fragger and some one had to give it to me, I didn't even care about the color.

This is exactly what my problem is. I wouldn't care if it took me days/weeks/months. Why not let me work towards it? I would also be OK if they just gave us better legendaries when we do finally get one.

Don't worry. People like him will apologize for the game all day in a very nice way. Note the tactic he uses, because you'll see it often.

That doesn't mean you have seen them or that it even matters. Who really cares if "Hello Kitty" has a worse loot system than Defiance? You don't play "Hello Kitty".. you play this game.

I don't recall in your post you saying "I came from X game and we had a better loot system than this".:D

You aren't crazy; this system isn't very good RNG wise. You're not the first to notice it.
