Think they will hand out tokens , first go to the people that bought directly from Trion but i guess pre orders will get it today .
Guess that token will be a verification giving you green light to download when you start your pre loader/patcher on connection with the server.
Tried it again not entitled having added a pre order key does not do any with out the "token"
Good news and not so good news. I heard back from CS already! Very quick response. Bad news is it didn't solve my 'not entitled' issue.

We have actually received a few reports detailing this very same issue, and surprisingly enough it should be easily corrected by resetting your password.
If you open your Defiance Launcher, underneath the password section, you can click on the Forgot Password button and follow along. Once completed you should be good to go.

I did click on 'forgot password' as you suggested. It gives me a 404 page not found error.

I'll try to change my password the other way under settings.
Nope, no help there, same error. I uninstalled Defiance and got a new copy of the launcher/patcher. Same error.
It is very odd. He had Alpha & Beta working, after all. Normal client should work too. Microsoft updates did something very recently that kept a program I sometimes use from updating itself in the "C:\Users\(CompLoginName)\AppData\Roaming\" folder it installed to for some reason. So now it gives me a nag screen to update but it can not install the update I manually downloaded, the same version remains and it seems it can not write to that path anymore. It updated before 3 or 4 times before, though. Oh well. I don't remember where Defiance wanted to install to, I just said no and told it to install to the root of my drive to avoid potential issues like that. Not only do you have to be an admin logged into your computer but certain security "features" (that I hate) of Vista and newer have to be disabled before a program is allowed to write to the normal "C:\Program Files" and "C:\Program Files (x86)" folders after it installs.:mad:Quote:

Just thinking on it. Log out of the forums before you go try to change your password and then test that it really did change. Who knows, being logged in might bug the attempt to change the password.

So, Trion CS has been VERY responsive. Unfortunately for them and for other players with this issue, they aren't aware of a fix.

Not quite. I DO have a code. In fact I bought a second copy of the game just to be sure I would have my code connected to the account before the game goes live (the first copy's code will come in the box). So, my issue isn't that I don't have a code. My issue is that even though I have applied the code, my account is not entitled. Many others have this issue too. I'm hoping that by sharing my story here other players can skip some of the hoops I've been jumping thru. I have every expection that Trion can help me resolve this issue.Quote:

Well, I had a long conversation with Trion's Live Chat regarding the 'account is not entitled' issue. The GM believes I MUST have a second CD key. Here's a partial transcript:
GM : Have you put your CD Key onto your Trion Worlds account?

So then I call Gameliebe.com again. I relate that Trion says the code they gave me was only a pre-order key and that I MUST have a CD key as well to unlock my account. The Swiss CS guy says, no no, there is only one key. It will work for you when the servers go online tomorrow morning at 8 AM. OK, I'll call em again tomorrow morning if the patcher still says the account is not entitled.
Has anyone else here entered JUST one key and the patcher worked for you?
yes i got just one key from g2play last week, confirmed with kiwibird of trion cs that i'm good to go for launch and fully covered.

as well expect what ever gets installed from your physical disc to be patched with a big file.
it takes roughly 2 weeks from the time gold is pressed to hit shelves/endusers. in that time there's a huge amount of work to be done by devs to get ready for launch.
that's why i say the physical media is pretty useless and quickly becomes obsolete.

I contacted Trion customer support and they say I MUST get a CD Key or I can't play. They verified that the code I entered is just a pre-order code.
Pre-order code was ok for Beta access (Beta is now over for Defiance) but will NOT entitle me to download and play. Trion servers are live now. Many people are playing.
I saw on Defiance forums that several third party resellers here in europe had this same issue.

But Gamestop corporate would be the head of all Gamestop regardless of their physical location on earth. I suggest rather you talk to Triton, you email Gamestop corporate and explain what happened. They should get you a code. All American companies that have divisions in other countries will help those that have issues if you know to talk to them. You bought your box you are intitled to a code. As for Denmark, no that is not right then need to do it they way we do or they to say that upfront. They are in the wrong. Its not different, to deprive a customer of something they payed for.
