if there is no code associated with this purchase how will trion know that any steam accounts have it?
Looking at how http://www.g2play.net/store/DLC/ does their work for DLC. Pretty sure there is a steam key for defiance DLC.
Is just it wont be out until April 5th.

This game will unlock in approximately 5 days and 22 hours
I wish the offer stayed permanent for all those that pre-ordered but meh. Even with the 25% off , i'm not going to buy the season pass till i know how it works and what comes with it "content wise". Btw i love the game but one leap of faith for the initial pre order is enough for me as the game on steam is a bit overpriced and technically isn't a standard copy or you wouldn't get all the bonuses.
Don't take this post negatively, I fully support the game and enjoy it, but the pricing for the standard game and season pass is a bit goofy.
With items such as season passes (just my experience, could be wrong) if you buy it from steam you will not get a code at all. However, when the DLC is released it will automatically load to your library or you will receive your coupon code for the free item. Then it's just a matter of entering your CD key from DLC item into Trion.
There is no DLC to own until they release it, at which time you will receive it for free via your sub to the season pass. It works exactly like season passes for COD or any other game. Your essentially "pre-purchasing" the DLC like any other item
EDIT: I understand that we do need Trion to know we have the season pass. Just trying to explain that there is a difference. Most MMOs use ex-pacs, this one has DLC like map packs or bonus missions.
You and I were talking about two different things, hence the edit, I get what your saying now and your right. I just assumed some people meant they were supposed to receive the DLC pack keys right now. Which is different than receiving the key saying you own the season pass
I have a question, if i preorder the game on disc can i get the season pass off of steam and have it work?
Yeah tought about this also :) How will they know we are viable for the cap and the box? A code is needed to upgrade on Trion site, BUT we actually havent gotten a code yet for all the bonus items! So Steam will probably mail or put it in our Storage as they did the Rift:Storm Legion key as soon as they can!
Actually I did not know what season pass was until recently. Most PC games call it expansion packs, not DLC.
I haven't decided if I am getting this game or not yet, I am disappointed that they expect people to spend $90 on a game that isn't released yet. That discount from steam should be a permanent coupon, not a couple days coupon. I find that misleading when they offered it.
I may just stick with GW2. Although I like parts of this game play for something different.
$29.99 for 5 DLC... I'm curious as to how much each DLC will cost post launch. I have played mmos where the DLC comes in the form of a paid expansion any where from $5 to $40 dollars or free patches. I know there is no guarantee that the game will have 5 expansions or how much content will be in each DLC. So I really wondering if the season pass is worth purchasing so early.
For this much money, these PDLCS don't look like they will have much value. I mean how much can 6 bucks really get you? Heck it can cost that much for a dang coffee and I can drink that in 5 mins or less.
This. Im undecided on the Season Pass because I don't know how much the DLC's will be themselves. If they come out and are all 5-10$ each, but half of them are just silly costumes or a new car, or something that isnt going to effect gameplay at all, then I prob wouldnt bother buying them in the first place. If only one or two of the DLC's actually add something that Id want, like new areas to fight in, new weapons that are really good, or the ability to guild vs guild in open world, without having to join a shadow war, well thats all stuff Id want. But all that might be in just 1 DLC that only costs 10-15$, in which case Id just buy that without a discount, and still be paying less then the current discounted one. So I am pretty undecided, wish there was more info about what DLCs there were going to be.
I find myself wondering if I want to buy this too now. I was hoping the discount was a coupon code, not a limited time offer.
I have the money but man.... That is 90 bucks for one game....
Do you get a code to input or what? Cause I have not yet recieved one from steam...
Has anyone gotten their CD key for the Season Pass yet from Steam? Thanks.
does anyone here know if the baseball cap for buying the season pass is only on trions site or if its on steam too?
thanks knew that, but the firt time i checked it wasnt there, might have been a slight delay cause i found it now ^^ the cd key on steam that is ;-)
