    I HATE to say this but.....THE BEST thing to ever happen to DCUO is Defiance
    i lost an entire league,within the game when we cam over from there. that community was a disgrace,and we played for 3 years anyway,so not much left to do. i was the first to bring everyone here,since i had became exactly what i wanted in dc,which was just a sick *** character. lately i heard terrible things about dc,so i knew(even though i never wanted to return) i was never going back. but you know what,as much as i am sick of dcuo,i went to check it out. but still i'm here hoping i can see some dlc,and call in all my my buddies who basically watched the decimation of our 3 year league,which was actually based on greatness and respecting each other,helping out ANYONE WHO NEEDED IT,and just overall perfection(striving for) so i am the ONLY one left,and i'm not saying they went back to dc,but this game has really just been a free pass out of an insane asylum for a bit,then you got to go home(dc) but i am not going back,even though i play with randoms now,instead of the brotherhood we used to have. i mean,for craps sakes,we had you tube vids,facebook,my co leader wanted to try twitter,we had one of the best websites for a league ever,judging by the garbage we visited in that game.........................and yeah,remember i hate even talking about dcuo............................so please nathan richardson or lars butler or whoever the hell promised all this crap,MAKE IT HAPPEN ALREADY. ALSO i just realized 2 possible situations: season pass means literally between season 1-2 of the show,so if it take this freakin long to bring the 1st dlc,what the hell are you going to do....here's what i think 1) either delay the damn show for so long we lose interest,because the game devs can't make a proper working dlc,or 2) they will manage to squeeze out 5 dlc's but they will be bugged. BUT i have one more hopeful theory-----that it is taking so long right now,because they are working on multiple dlc's trying to clean them up,and make sure they tie into each other nicely,so maybe not a big deal if you look at it that way.................that is all i want to say.
    wait one more thing-------------nathan r. just had an interview where FINALLY he had a chance to label this game as it is now,and he chose carefully to call it ONLY ANN FPS,not what was slated last year MMO/FPS OPEN WORLD

    Only read the Red text since it was the only thing you cared to single out and draw attn to...

    Is Fallout 3/NV not an Open World FPS? Thats the same basic gameplay as Defiance, only with hundreds of people... So, it is an Open World FPS MMO. Theres no lie there. Just because people have a preconceived notion of what an MMO is, doesnt mean all are that style.

    Its an MMO people, just happens to be an FPS first and foremost. Take your standards of "MMO" terms down a bit. For PS3/360, the most people in a game was 16 in Big Team battles... Excluding MAG from PS3, after launch i heard nothing from MAG. Even then, it was only 256 people. Ive hit Arks with way more then that.

    Sorry. But as a paying customer, I am in no way obliged to lower my standards of what I consider to be a good MMO, simply because the folks at Trion are too lazy or incompetent to raise theirs.

    THEY however, ARE obliged to raise the quality and complexity of their game to meet player expectations, if they want to keep making games at all.

    the gaming world is watching
    You may have a point here ... I was a member of an active clan the first week I bought Defiance ... there was 10 of us called the WhiteKnights ... I am now in a much larger clan of Defiance diehards like myself ... the point I am about to make is that the other 9 members of my original clan have all left Defiance and went back to DC Universe ... the gaming world is watching Trion to see what they do with this open world gaming platform ... live long and prosper or fold like a house of cards ... so like rule one is keep the customer happy ... rule two is to see rule one.

    I am with you all in saying that this game needs fixing. Aside from that last time I heard Defiance servers could only take 99 players. MAG (Most Players in a Console FPS with 256), is in the Guinness book. Yes I used to be a MAG fan.

    I have no idea, but DCUO just seems like a such a chore to play as of late... running content to gain marks of triumph, just to keep your lair's mainframe active seems more like a non-paying job to me. Which in turn, doesn't equal tons of fun.

    Then there's the fact that it has a tendency to lock up my PS3 at least once any time I play it...

    DCUO's fine to play through the content while leveling. Once level'd the chore begins with the "real" leveling and that's when the game becomes, quite frankly, not fun. Ive LTS and I just peek in to try out for a few levels new powers or the like and then stop until the next one roles out.

    Yea... well anyone with a brain in their head can easily point out that no matter how deluded the comments of an individual are, facts remain constant.

    MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online

    All 3 apply here, so derp on that one.

    TPS = Third person Shooter

    That's a 3, not a 1

    Open World = Go where ever the hell you want if the mood strikes you.

    Pretty sure we're all able to hop on a 4-wheeler and do so if/when we want.

    Appreciate ya' colour coding your incongruencies for easy locatin'. Much easier when a poster does the work for me >.>

    I totally know what you mean. Logged in yesterday after work, and got bored after 30-45 minutes. Guys in my league are fun to talk to, but that only carries me so far...

    I ditched DCUO at around the beginning of the year and haven't logged on since. I also found everything post "Home Turf" to be too much like a part-time job with all the grinding.... and frankly, the community is kind of mean.

    So, I didn't think I'd ever do an MMO again (or whatever Defiance is), but at 10 bucks, I sure thought I'd give it a try and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm still figuring things out, but it seems to be very console-friendly, and I appreciate that. I hope it never gets so convoluted as it grows that it becomes a grind like DCUO.

    dcuo
    i gave up dcuo months ago too. got soooo repetitive, doing the exact same missions every day to get marks used to buy equipment which just makes the same missions easier to complete. that was my first MMO; maybe they are all like that. Defiance is quickly becoming the same for me now though. After taking the time to get to ego 2300, I am doing the same contracts/missions every day I play and the only result is that I do a lot more damage and get a lot more kills that lower players doing the same co-op missions. just killing time now until FF XIV comes out in 5 days.

    Even after playing DCUO since December 2010, I think there's plenty of stuff to do in the game. You just need the right group of people to run content with.

    I played DCUO from near launch until just before Defiance dropped and promptly canceled my sub right after Home Turf. The notion that I had to grind just to maintain my character's combat effectiveness was too much for me. I almost equally hated how they alternated between ignoring and ruining PVP, and the community is beyond terrible. Open-world chat was a daily contest to see who could be the biggest prick ever since it went FTP.

    My disenchantment with Defiance isn't quite there yet, but it would be nice if the devs give me something new to do in-game before I get there.

    HAHAHA... so true. Although, I kind of like bouncing between the two games. It does seem like an over grind for that Home Turf mainframe garbage, but both of my younger brothers have the game as well as some friends that I have known for decades... so it makes the grind for marks so much easier when most of the league's already online running content; almost any time of the day.
