No problem it's all pretty clear (Mechanized, LAV III's PPCLI) but this is a situation where they are loosing face with consumers and people are incapable of seeing their good change, its just answers and responses, most of them being hollow. If the community could tangibly see what they were doing, where they were moving and could tell the developers what is good and what is bad they would see more interest.

True that they are companies with their own leadership, but there's no reason to be a Petraeus with a few good successes to mask an overwhelming incompetency. No offense if you are a fan of the guy, you can learn from others mistakes and successes for sure... Especially their own past mistakes.

If they open up to the public, its more like reinforcing a failing flank with coalition troops, let the Canuck C2's cover the hole mate we'll back you up!

You speak pretty strongly for the community as a whole when you only joined the forms this month. :)

Honestly all of the things you want, i.e. to see their workflow and to basically have specific developers to blame - all of that stuff is just short-term feel-goods that will waste time and do nothing but provide a feel-good bandaid for the very few people who basically hate Trion right now. The fact that the director of community is taking time at home to communicate with everyone kind of says a lot in how serious Trion is with getting back on good graces with its playerbase, but they're not going to do stupid crap that slows them down further just to provide temporary relief to some people.

In general a lot of people on these forums seem to be very childish and horribly impatient. Wait and see what changes rather than repeatedly trying to tear down the company. Effectively repairing and building up both the game and the customer relationships between Trion and the players will take time. If people don't want to wait that long, they can leave and poke by at the end of the year and see how things are doing. Or they can just leave for good, whatever. But demanding Trion to further waste their time just to meet the demands of a few mega passionate people who are very bitter/angry with them... yeah that's not really a good use of their time. I'd rather let them work on things without being interrupted or slowed down just to show us what they're doing each day or whatever.

Developer letters would be handy, but honestly I don't think those need to be done beyond more than maybe once a month right now. And honestly you can't expect CMs to give you all the information you personally want. Plus we players really shouldn't be bossing the dev team around telling them what they should be focusing on, since the players can't even agree on things half the time.

I don't know if I want to see everything that any Game Developer is working on all of the time or what they are hammering away at all day long. To me, that is too much. I would be happy to have some kind of overview on what is coming up or how things are progressing with DLC 2, 3...yadda yadda. That kind of thing.... when the map will open up, when we might get to go to the ruins of Los Angeles or other cool stuff like that.
I don't need a "Jurassic Park" type tour ride where I get to see Morgana hatching some computer code from a mystical egg or Dahanese pulling RAM chips from a cold room server while counting down on a wristwatch.

Although I am joking, I do see both sides of the discussion and wish that more information could be forthcoming but I also understand the need for keeping things quiet until all is ready.
Does Scott look like that old man from Jurassic Park?

Yes ignoring the fact that there are, multiple other senior members here posting, and ignoring the fact that my account age has nothing to do with whether I am or am not right, ignoring the fact that you make yourself sound kind of like a ****** I agree I know nothing about what this community seems to want... You know despite all these threads, posts, youtube video's, and meta critic reviews, IGN reviews, or any other review stating something in line with what I am saying.

Your solution, to have players leave and come back at the end of the year... Yeah I mean Trion definitely wants to loose potential profits for an entire year just so they can stay the course that they have been for the past 4 months, as you said they are scrambling to try and repair these issues with the community.

This tip of the had to allow us to view their plans and wants will require literally little to no work, they already have a master clipbboard, NOT TO MENTION, Dalanese's job is Community Relations... So we're to believe if she does her job that all the sudden the other developers can't? She can't, as a community relations worker, go and figure out the workflow from the master clipboard/whiteboard and make a useable blog in a pleasing manner can post and then have users give feedback on it?

So basically, the community developers should just keep giving us hollow empty answers and circular conversations. I really don't see some of your reasonings here that a whole team of devs can't do their job, and the other devs can't take 20-30 minutes to drop a post or at least dictate a post to Dahanese.

But PS3 users don't get that choice? That's totally fair.

Its faster and cheaper to release patches on the pc than it is to release them on the ps3/xbox (although I think microsoft finally stopped charging so much per patch). They would also need to throw 2 more servers up for those respective console and that is more time/money spent. They are on a budget and time is ticking.

How many times have we heard that. Heard that "this new guy will be different when they switched EP. So far nothing out of that guy who has more control of the day to day of defiance. If you think this new CEO is going to who in control of all the games Trion makes will have some sweeping changes of defiance you better think again. He has to much on his plate other then focusing on Defiance. He will give it a once over say what he thinks should be done and the direction of the game after that he goes back to his office and has nothing else to do with defiance other then a few progress reports.

New CEO means absolutely nothing for Defiance. Only thing that will would be if they fired a majority of the SD office and had the rift crew work on the game. But then again I highly doubt any big changes to how defiance is actually developed.

Your in for more of the same just with an all new front man.

To many promises, no follow through and little to none trust from the consumer base. Which has been fully earned by Trion. They have done absolutely nothing to earn customer trust or loyalty. You see how they treat the fans that have been here since day 1. We are still paying insane matrix costs, still playing the slot machine upgrade system and still getting treated like cra0 considering we are the reason Defiance is even still around. The money we spent on bits, the season passes purchased, the collectors editions we own.

Hey but buy the game on stream for $9.99 19.99 on xbox and ps3. You guys that uave been here since day 1...hang in there we promise we got something for you.

Hey new people you can now have all perks unlocked by 1000 ego and all co-ops accesed much sooner as well. Hey you 2000+ego people hang in there we got something for you in the works, no info to share at this time but its something.

3weeks left in august and still no release date.....

So....tell me where they earn this trust....I have yet to see anything from Trion that shows the6 give a damn about anyone who has been here since day one waiting for these empty promises and dealing with the lies, server issues and clan issues that still arent fixed.

But hey you new people heres a leg up. Heres some help for you.
