Leave them messages/e-mails asking for what the statement was about, why they released information without all the facts/ducks in a row. I'd suggest taking their communication licenses with the fanbase completely away and re-educating them to the dangers of mispeaking.

Your team may not have lied, not on purpose of course, but what they did was tantamount of it. We're also speaking about the same issue in two threads at the same time so I suggest moving to one or the other as neither of us are tron.

Honestly, now - you'd really rather me spend my time hounding the dev team about this issue rather than work on getting you guys answers and telling the devs things you want? And you'd rather them spend their time answering this than working on the game?

I highly doubt that - and even if you do want that, I'm going to let you know that I'm going to put it lower priority than the other stuff I mentioned. You are more than allowed to hate me for it, but it's in the best interest of this community and the game.

I think that Val is asking for "someone" to take accountability seriously, and backtrack a bit and put a stop to this nonsense.
If you won't do it, and you are the one we have direct communication with, then we are to assume that from here on out it'll be more of the same? If that is what we're supposed to read between the lines, then message received.

Hate? Now you're taking my heated comments a bit further than is meant. I've been involved with MekTek before (Development Team) and I know for a fact that if they take ten to fifteen minutes to explain what went wrong it won't damage their ability to work on the game. This project has moved past the building phase and its in maintenance phases, every minute is no longer crucial.

I would like to see you repair the rift you are creating with the community, absolutely Dahanese. I am sure you would like for that too, but if you leave this issue with simply "trust us please" or, "we had a miscommunication today" it won't repair a thing at all! A straight answer to what happened and why would go a long way to mending some wounds that have been created, or even throw the players an actual bone...

"Here's *remunieration* for your patience and trouble, and we are extremely sorry for *problem*. We have been and will continue to be working on the *problem*. This *problem* was caused by *name* (you put it to a certain name so people have a target to blame instead of the company as a whole, known as scapegoating and its how British Petroleum solved quite a few of its problems until the last offshore leak) and we are dealing with the lines of communication to the community from this point on to ensure a measure of quality control. From this point on you can be assured we will only communicate factual statements." etc.

I'd suggest an internal memo to actually coach your employee's in how to communicate in the workplace to avoid any more communication issues. You could even fire a guy! Worked for BP, and you are restructuring so I am sure there's a few you could cut and claim it was due to this recent malfunction in communication. Also throwing a shiny bauble at the community could work too, certainly better than circle speaking as the community has caught on to that and want explanations now.

We know that the truck has no turret, and we won't be able to shoot from it, making it just a 4 person truck. Considering how bad the lag is with two people in a car, I can only imagine how completely pointless this truck will be.

Arenas will be solo, not 4 person co-op. That's a big let down since co-op has been one of the better parts of this game, but at least it's something new to do.

We get swords and charge weapons, but the weapons we have now will get nerfed. Not sure how to feel about this. We'll have to wait and see how things work out. I do feel like there are better things that could have been done than nerf guns that most of the players really don't want changed.

Prices in game are going up, and so is the payout for activities. Again, seems like there could have been better uses of the dev's time and energy than changes like this. We'll see how it plays out in the game, probably won't really make a difference.

New race and new story missions. This is where it gets interesting for me. I felt let down with most of the episodic content during the show. I would like to believe that the real payoff of the DLC will be a lot of story related missions. However, no one is really talking about this, so I figure it will probably be an hour or two of "go here, fight the same old enemies, pick up a data recorder, watch a cut scene" type of stuff. A new race doesn't really mean much, since the only differences between the races and clothes are cosmetic.

New kinds of arkfalls? I'm not even sure if this is still in the DLC. It doesn't really matter to me, since the arkfalls we have now tend to be messed up. If you don't get kicked out of the game before the arkfall is over you probably will soon after. It's always been this way though, so we're just kind of used to it.

What about the voice chat? I've played this game since day one, and during that whole time, only once for a few minutes have I had voice chat work. I'm in a clan and not once, not one time have we been able to talk to each other during any events. I really thought this would have been fixed by now. Things like this are why nerfs and all the other little changes to the semantics of the game make people so mad. I haven't heard anyone talk about this with the DLC patch. It's just become something we accept, like the glitchy messed up arkfalls.

What's the bottom line? I don't expect much from the DLC. it's starting to seem like the negatives will outweigh the positives. Hopefully it will give us some new things to do and fix some old problems, but I doubt it. I'll honestly be surprised if this game still exists on the consoles, let alone if we get 5 DLCs, before the next season of the show starts. I haven't seen much from Trion throughout this game's existence that leads me to believe our opinions matter to them beyond their ability to generate profit from this game. I think the day is coming when Trion decides to cut bait on the consoles and leave the PC version on life support as long as the show's on the air.

    But what do I know?

Great post dude, gets across how I feel exactly, nut without the effort of typing it!

    this!

I see no "rift" being created with the community, on the contrary, things are improving since dahanese decided to talk more often. She delivered some info and managed to get us the alpha test server. It's not easy to work with a dev team that's not physically on the same building (and is having the studio closed down). I prefer to believe that she got wrong info from san diego instead of simply calling her a liar. Trick did explain the problem with the truck on the KTAM interview but she probably didn't listen to it. (I think dahanese should give an interview to the KTAM radio guys)

I expect things to improve even more when she gets direct access to the devs after the moving.

Good thing Valaska doesn't speak for everybody. You are asking for blood, because somebody mis-spoke. MOVE ON. There is nothing else that can be done except apologize, and dahanese has done this 100 times already. You want people to be fired, to lose their jobs, even if it is so they are used as an example or as a point of blame for the community, because your pixle focused adventure isn't up to YOUR standards. AND, your example of how a VIDEO GAME company should do things is BP?! If I was Trion, I would do exactly what they are doing. There isn't "one" person at fault for anything. Trion is at fault, Trion has apologized 10 fold. Trion asked us to judge them by their actions from here on out, and so all we can do is wait.

Dahanese, you are doing fine. Keep up the good work. Don't let people like Valaska get to your head. Despite his loud mouth, he is not the majority.

Not even I am the opinion that Dahanese purposely lied, I believe the miscommunication is unacceptable however. To Multigun's reply, there's a large chunk of the community here that are posting these threads without me, there are swaths of players simply leaving! So indeed, there is a problem going on here, one they won't fix voluntarily which has been apparent from the past.

If you want to be polite and complacent with the devs, they are going to keep walking over the community like they have in the past, promising and taking things away, Dahanese was involved back then and if we give her the O.K on the situation now and simply accept responses with little to no actual girth to them then we will get the same crap we've been getting.

Also, people don't need to be fired, but people need to take responsibility, Trion has a huge lack of culpability to their mistakes.

Accountability taken. We didn't do a good enough job before. I'm taking it on to change that. :)

    Then how about this.

Give us access to the developers workflow, giving your community the ability to discuss and give a general feel of how we feel about each project/goal. Then, give us a theoretical/hypothetical dream feature kind of place to say what we would -love- to have in the game, such as clan held territories in an area with loot box benefits for holding strong holds or points! This way we could be involved on the little things, and the future scope of the game.

A few games have done this in the past, what would set you apart would be this; having the developers involved in those aspects of the game state how they feel about the proposed idea's and changes, assure QA with the posts and make sure they don't conflict with the scope of the general project or would upset the community.

If you want a partnership with your community, increasing posts in a forum and telling us that the EP wants to hear more about us isn't the best way of doing it.
