Help choosing a character name.

Every time I start a new game, I must spend ages trying to decide on an appropriate name. So it would have to suit the sci-fi theme. My name in the beta was just a placeholder, as I couldn't realy decide on one.
Any ideas? How do you go about choosing an appropriate name for the genre/setting etc? Just asking for tips, so I can decide on a name, rather than staring at the character creation screen for ages.

I generally just use my xbox gamertag as a variation on the theme of it, that way clan friends always know who I am.

Well seeing you can have spacing in your name you can make a first and last name. Prolly make it easier to get the name you end up with as well...

I am planning on taking two of my favorite Sci-fi characters and blending their names into a new one. It has a duel effect of showing my appreciation of those two characters as well as creating a name that would possibly fit in the Defiance universe.

Your character name will really only just be for you to see, as a lot of people (ones i've played with) have turned off character names so they only see their xbox gamertag and clan.

I personally leave that option on so I can see what people have named their character. But it doesn't really matter, nor does it affect me

I'm going with the same name as I chose in the beta:

Name: Neko
Sex: Female

Hopefully there are more character customization options to choose from when creating your character. There weren't that many in the beta :(

In the xbox beta it was easy to distinguish gamer tag versus name picked. I think its there so you can sort through the names when picking a character to explore with
