Patching while servers are down

So, if anyone remembers one of the major fusterclucks of a patch early on, we were able to patch while the servers were still offline.(I believe it was the 1.010 patch)

I was wondering if we could do this with the estimated downtime being 4 hours? Now, they'd still have to upload to the distribution server, but I don't see why we couldn't start patching say at 2:30PM EST.

I just tried it. Not yet. No patch, it goes to launch and then reports servers are not available.

I tried on both NA and EU PC servers.

Most likely, they'll update everything on their side, then bring the servers back up and then we can download it and install it.

I already downloaded a patch this morning, not sure what it was for though.

1 GB upload to their patch server, then possibly a test patch to make sure it didn't corrupt during upload(although this could be done by checking MD5/SHA-1). I think around 2-2:30 we should be able to start our patching

I'm patching now. EU - PC. ~30 minutes at 52 Mbs.

i'm downloading now as well on the xbox na server

xbox eu seems to be patching for me now

Same here, PS3 NA. About 33 mins for me.

I'm patching on Xbox 360 NA. Hopefully it will save me some time after the servers come back up.
