Trion: Are you f'ing kidding me?

So... After 3 months of "wait for it... wait for it..." and then an additional almost 8 hours wait after all other platforms have gone live with DLC1 I log on to the game on my PS3 & download what looks to be a large and promising patch full of new experiences, additional fun opportunities & the cool little add-ons I was promised in the overly long awaited Castithan DLC...

And then the game loads up and I see an option to buy the DLC. "Already did that" I think and right before I go to select my character my eye catches the top news feed... The paid content of the DLC is not working? Are you f'ing kidding me Trion? All that time with delays and postponements & then the overly rediculous wait time to "get it fixed" and we get shafted? Seriously? And to top it off, you display a banner on the character select screen that is an ad to buy the DLC right above the news that the DLC doesn't even work properly? And you can do this with a straight face?

I'm not known for flame posts. In fact I am a very patient person, and have given the benefit of the doubt to Trion many times over the past few months. But this... This goes far & beyond an epic fail. This is just a travesty compounded with utter ineptitude. You need to deal w/ this & you need to do it soon. I thought the restructuring would help but seriously? This mistake could have been made by 6 of the Wicked Witches' flying monkeys programming in a Singapore sweat shop on an old Radio Shack Tandy...

I seriously hope you plan on recouping the PS3 player base with something. I am sure many are beyond fed up and you're going to need to find some way to keep those who are sticking around... I would say I was surprised but honestly... I am not. This is coming from a paying customer who up to this point has been a staunch supporter of the game: get your act together or find a different industry. This goes beyond horrible customer service, in-game bugs, inactive customer support, et. all... This is by far infringing on your customers in terms of money. Service should be rendered for services purchased. Get it together...

Good luck with that if they do offer you a free boost or something then there will be downtime during it.
Some people here would have said to not get your hopes up based on the hideous track record.

Cant wait to see the explosion once you actually play it then... *wince*.

This wasn't intended as a post to attract forum trolls or w/e. I've played on Xbox and don't like the system and grew tired of playing rooted to a pc. This is a serious complaint/gripe with Trion. You don't use or like PS3, wonderful. That's not the topic.

As for playing it, already am on it and not happy w/ what I am seeing (or not seeing)

Everyone using console (ps3, xbox360) seems to be quick to blame Trion for things not working. yet here on PC end seem to not have the same issues as the consoles?? Has anyone taken the time to maybe blame the console network for the problems you are having, after all PC connects directly to Trion's stuff but ps3 has to go through the Playstation network first same for xbox having to go through the xbl services. so if you want to point a finger start pointing at the console end of things too.

I dont have an issue with any platform of gamers.
I just would not expect much else from Trion this is why I came back to see if this time they could do something right.
Sadly not cementing my decision to continue never playing.

I agree. Is totally possible. But a competent company would know this and understand how to deal w/ it. I doubt Xbox Live or PSN was responsible for the additional months of waiting. Nor we're they responsible for many of the other issues in this game such as arkfall issues, coding problems, rendering issues, chat problems, etc.

So yes... I do blame the game programmers and not the platform on which they were supposed to know how to program for...

Nah. Just don't care what platform feels superior or feels the need to do so. I have all three, have played on all three and prefer the PS3 for this game. Just very disappointed in how they (Trion & to a lesser extent Sony & Microsoft) have allowed this to degrade into such a fiasco. Don't really care who feels superior as I said I have all three platforms. Just expected w/ all the delays and the excessive downtime and company restructuring for at least SOMETHING to have been improved...

the epic failure entirely lies with a "pc" gaming company , who makes pc games attempting to go cross platform and "dumbing down the game for console users, from the inter face, to the programming /coding over all even the game design its self is dumbed down for "console players" who have a severe limitation with what they can do with key/button functionality on a "pad/controller" this being said the over all ineptitude lies in fault with that points to Bethesda soft works having a lot of same issues when they attempted and failed horribly making elder scrolls and fallout cross plat form ...not only did they lose"fan base of loyal consumers but they had to sell out their company due to lost revenue something which according to all reports trion is currently struggling with especially since their last failure with dlc content for their game "rift" since last fall , the fact they picked up a broken project at a budget discount dont help matters at all .....

Rofl. You do know that this game has been a broken mess, on ALL platforms, since release right? Sorry, but when a product is broken on every single platform, only a fool will look anywhere else but the developer. You people can sing these " if it was only a PC exclusive" delusional tunes all you want, but logical people know better. A below average developer will release a below average product. I've been PC gaming long enough, and experienced more than enough poor PC exclusives, to know this.

question can you play "rift" on your crappy console or end of nations the answer is rhetorical so is the point trion was a "pc only" gaming company and every gaming company that try's to go cross platform fails miserably at it ..pc gaming is far superior to "console gaming" do to the shear versatility and scope of context related to pc gaming mainly the rapid development in processing power and graphics that console development simply cannot compete with console gaming is drab, dull and reprehensibly boring by comparison! not to mention you cannot play other consoles games on any given console the way you can emulate and play any console games on a quality pc ..from Atari 3600 to ps4...and everything in between ...

further more go to any "gaming retail store " that specializes in games and look at returned titles you will rarely if ever find a singular pc game returned as compared to the massive collection of crap put out by console gaming company's especially electronic arts "sports" i mean the is only so many times one can stomach to play any madden/nba or fifa game ..alleged high definition or not and unless you have the i.q and attention span of a gold fish we will not even talk about "wii" titles...
