I cannot believe Warner Brothers would have thought that casting call was even remotely a good idea.

Marvel Rules !!!!
I like Ben Affleck (easy on the eyes ;) ), but he is not Batman material.
Physical appearance isn't part of the equation for me. I think he's a subpar actor. But worse than that, he showed he can't handle the physical scenes in Daredevil.
Marvel already publicly made fun of DC Entertainment for yet another scrapping of the Wonder Woman film. I cannot wait to hear their laughter echo around the world when they hit at this casting choice.
Marvel should know, after all.
Agree that Daredevil was really bad. DC and WB better come up with someone that can be the dark side of Batman or that movie is going to fail. I never have been a fan of DC, but the last two Batman movies were good. Haven't seen Superman yet.
something that annoys me with superhero movies (especially marvel as i dont read or own any DC unless it was a marvel crossover) is that they dont get the physics (the shape size of the actor to the character they are playing) right. Wolverine is not supposed to be a hugh jackman. he's meant to be short and rough looking. ben affleck is pretty solid guy, daredevil is slim and athletic. nick fury is white. Mr and mrs fantastic did not feel right with who ever played those two roles. ryan reynolds will probably make a good deadpool.
halle berry as storm makes sense to me. the guy that plays thor feels right and same with captain america. and they cant get the hulk right, i think edward norton made a good bruce banner.
i could go on and on about this but i will stop myself here.
One thing you have to understand about the Marvel films is that they are inspired more from Ultimate Marvel than Marvel 616.
In Ultimate Marvel (which launched in 2000), Nick Fury is, indeed, modeled after Samuel L. Jackson. Wolverine is a little taller (though admittedly not High Jackman). At one point SHIELD did form and control the Avengers (originally called "The Ultimates" in that universe). The story threads in the Amazing Spiderman film were likewise so inspired.
Even the Chitauri (the aliens they fought at the Battle of New York in the Avengers film), originally came from Ultimate Marvel (though they were shape-shifters in the comics).
Yes, they have a little 616 tossed in, but for the most part even Marvel Studios has stated they look more at the past 13 years of Ultimate Marvel than the original universe. It's less continuity baggage, was launched as a "what if Marvel Comics first debuted as a publisher in the year 2000," and is just easier to translate to the screen for the general, movie going audience.
Fantastic Four and Daredevil are on the schedule for a reboot, though, for very valid reasons.
Have no fear, people... they got Affleck's sidekick to help him out with this project... ;)

I can't believe the casting on that new Batman movie. I mean, the guy has some interesting stuff deep on his resume, but for the most part he's a lightweight, a Hollywood pretty boy without the chops to pull off such a meaty role. No way he has the depth and range to do this. This movie's going to suck, because Hollywood just seems determined to ruin superhero movies. I mean, the one movie this guy's been in with any kind of fantastical elements sucked!
Yup, Heath Ledger's going to make a terrible Joker.
Ew Ben Affleck
when they casted George Clooney you dEal with the same issue that is going to happen with Ben Affleck. No one is going to see Bruce Wayne. you will end up seeing the actor and not the role. At least that's what is in my eyes for it. /
Did you even see who I was talking about? Those were pulled excerpts of people ranting about Heath Ledger back when he was announced. :)
Ultimately, while it seems an odd choice, 'Fargo' was a pretty good movie and without seeing him doing a reading, we have no idea how good he'll be.
i actually woudnt mind him as the happy go lucky adam west batman.....but the darker real batman......its going to be r3t@rded....and i will not watch that steaming pile should it ever see the light of day.....
I don't think that you've all considered the significance of this. Ben Afflek will be the most hirsute Batman in the history of the franchise. Hairy men (and women) will finally have a hero of their own, and I understand that they're a big part of the moviegoing population. WB is printing money with this one.
I think I kinda got sick a little... With just the descriptions.
Figured since I didn't see this image posted yet I'd toss it out there for people.
