Well after hanging around and patiently waiting for the DLC here is my personal thoughts and opinion of the DLC. It may differ than some and this is a forum. I suspect the Trolls are coming.
The Casthian:
going to say 7/10 on this. The new character is a welcome addition. Trion actually heard us when we talked about the possibility of having to PAY to change the current characters to the race. Good Job on that Trion. I looked at both the options and found that the female face options to be a bit better than the male. Most of the male faces look scarred and beat up. Not clean and elegant like in the show. However I will accept as an Ark hunting Casthian you're bound to pick up a face scuff or two. The tattoos and face paints for both were good as well.
The Charge blade:5/10 People who paid for the DLC should have just gotten one. Just my humble opinion. It's practically the center of the DLC and we're forced to endure hot shot like arenas (more on that below). Half a mill for a coloured one? Yup Trion just wants the lazy people to go and buy it with bits. Folks be patient earn the money sell you stuff and don't give trion any more of your hard earned cash. They lost 5 points because of this but kept 5 on the sheer bad assery of the weapon addition.
The Arenas: 3/10 Call me wrong if you will, however all they did was take the hot shot concept, allow you to use your own guns in a closed space instead of out in the defiance world. I guess this would still fall under the category of new "content" hence the 3 points. I just wasn't impressed with this especially after having to go through yet ANOTHER data recorder hunt to get to the spot. Trion Data Recorder Hunts are NOT new content.
Seiges: 8/10 Fun but a bit Laggy. It's like they thought about this. It broke up the monotony (unlike the above) Lag can be fixed. Can't say it's all that bad here! Pew pew pew!
The Vehicle: 2/10. One half point for every member of your party you can fit in it. Unless you're all headed for a boss where you have to disband the group, hella fun to roll around in with friends. Then it ends. It's the slowest crappiest vehicle in the game. I got overtaken by Quads left right and center driving around to the before mentioned data recorder hunts. There are no words to describe how disappointed I was to find no turret.
Overall Score 3/10. I would have given a 5/10 however two points lost yet again for a botched patch/launch. Trion you have had almost 6 months to get ONE right and the record is still 0 for ALL patches. When your community reads about another path/launch and groans that HAS to tell you something. While the DLC added "content" (and I use the term loosely) I don't think it's enough to keep your community going until the next DLC is, whenever it is.
Most of the stuff people didn't have to pay for. there are some exclusives but after seeing the difference if I wasn't a seasons pass holder I'd just get the free component every time. I can go run around and shoot hot shots for free. It's practically the same experience.
