Maybe first post on this account but it still remains valid. Certain people immediately dismiss any complaint and tell others to just deal with it. How is that any better than voicing opinions about messed up or broken aspects of the game. I understand some complaints are pretty minor but I would rather have people voicing issues than letting Trion think things are good. If you are happy about how the game is that's great, but don't dismiss or belittle others issues just because you don't like to hear it.

It isn't the point of having issues. Any MMO will, even at launch. Yes, World of Warcraft did at launch in 2004, as well.

The point is how long it takes the Dev team to address those issues, whether or not they address them efficiently, whether or not they at least fix the issues without adding a ton more (i.e., actually have internal QA), and so forth.

In those regards, Trion Worlds has utterly failed with Defiance. Which was a shock, considering their ability to actually do all the above with Rift. No amount of hyperbole is going to change or excuse that.

That's natural.
They all have it we know.

The TRUE test is to see where they are 5 months post launch. are they better or worse.

They have a Large window to get better than Trion still.

I agree with the heart of your message and won't get into the dispute behind said message, but I had to laugh at your line: "...letting Trion think things are good." Haha! Pretty sure they know things aren't, but again, I understand what you are getting at.

I never understood that "WoW launch" arguement.. *smh*.. I remember being there before launch, and when it launched.. and heard the THOUSANDS of people on their forums screaming like bleated little banshees for WEEKS because their servers where nothing short of a total damn nightmare. WoW's launch wasn't even close to clean and easy..

EDIT: ...don't misunderstand, I appreciate those that got it and were quick to point it out to the others. It just seems silly that when I try to take a relaxed approach to making a point it goes over their heads worse than if I 'splained it out letterblock for letterblock.

PS: Concave and assay particular had me brain hurting. Mainly because I always have to stop and think which is concave and which is convex, and to follow that up with a word that's one letter away from a scholastic nightmare... But you said "blunt" so I gots to lols.

Well. Seems like(big shocker here) another big title MMO is having launch issues. Keep in Mind that this is AFTER they shut the service down to change from the Original FFXIV to A realm Reborn.

Point being, no amount of time, or effort will stop issues from popping up. Your servers will not be able to transition smoothly from alpha/beta into release, because the traffic will be an order of magnitude higher. Bugs will crop up due to the system being influenced by outside stimuli.

Saw this a while back and felt it was an accurate description of what happens.

Yes. We all want stuff now. We all apparently think that games just plop out of some hind end in the sky and involve little work, so if there's a delay there's just no good reason for it. Release it now! The problem also is that all the sterile Alpha, Beta, and alphabits (cereal I used to like) testing that is done, is no substitute for real world/live usage. So patches happen. Patches fix one bug and create more--great way that it was put in your post.

In a thread for Mass Effect 3, a dev working on Dragon Age 3 was being asked about a bug that needed fixing for ME3. He said it probably never would be, because patching is not the preferred method of fixing anything. Because, again, patches break things. But, some believe it's a Trion invention, specifically for our fun and amusement.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Trion would get the idea that all things are not necessarily good from people having issues with getting their DLC content and logging on, or getting logged out, and all that. They need to be reminded of things being not so good by being told they are every rotten word in the book because the Arena is too hard--not laggy, but too hard. And then the next person has to let them know how bad things are by saying the Arena is boring because it's too easy.

There are issues, real ones that need to be solved but this will always be a case of chasing bugs, in game for players, and outside of the game by the devs. Report them to Trion, but people really aren't helping anyone by complaining about just any old thing that pops into their heads. And it doesn't help when people then begin to think any of this gives them the right or involves the need to put together long strings of words they pulled out of the toilet to describe the people working at Trion or working on this game.
