A question for all you off topic people
I've been on the forums since April and lurked around in 'Off Topic' before but never posted here until now and I have a question for all you guys/girls...

I'm posting it here as it's definitely an Off Topic question and I figure from all the people on the forums, you guys/girls would be the most knowledgeable...So here goes.

If you wanted to watch all the movies featuring 'Alien', 'Predator', 'Alien Vs Predator', and also taking into account 'Prometheus' and you wanted to watch them all in chronological order, not the order in which they were made, bearing in mind that they are all kind of interconnected too, then what order would you watch them in!!!

Sad, I know, but I was just pondering this one myself so any views you have would be most welcome...

    Cheers...

predator 1 and 2, AvP 1 and 2 and predators would all happen around the same time. as in they all happen in modern times. but yeah i agree with reaper.

my thoughts on the chronological order:

Prometheus first (explains the origin of the "alien")
    then predator I and II
    alien Vs Pred
    avsp Requiem
alien 1 (really would have liked to put this after prometheus BUT it's far in the future thus after it and the pred films)
    aliens
    alien 3
    alien ressurection

    Argh! So confusing!

    Ugh...Okay...

    Predator
    Predator 2
    Alien vs. Predator
    Alien vs. Predator Requiem,
    Predators,
    Prometheus
    Alien
    Aliens
    Alien 3
    Alien: Resurrection.

Wait, but if Prometheus explains the origins of the Alien at the very *end* in 2089, then why does the Xenomorph exist in AVP in 2004?

Therefore, I conclude that since AVP and AVP:R are non-canon crossovers, they don't exactly belong.

So revising the list, Predator, Predator 2, Predators, Prometheus, Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection. :D

But Wait! What if Prometheus is actually a time warp? Maybe in Prometheus 2, the Alien gets sent back in time on earth inside the vessel that the crew of AVP find and it...Dang that doesn't work either.

What if all the Predator movies happen in an alternate reality...Now I'm just blowing smoke.

they where created as a biological weapon and im assuming that there creation predates the humans being created towards the end of Prometheus and is they where created as a biological weapon predators could of encountered them before humans maybe even on another planet who knows? I dint write or direct them im just offering insight + isn't Prometheus set on the same planet as the first alien film its just kinda explaining the crashed space ship (found by some colonists) that gets found in alien and the xenomorph infestation

Prometheus only showed that particular "batch" of the xenomorph weapons coming to their apex at that time. It never said they have never existed before, just what they are.

    Thanks for your input people.

By the way, sorry to see some of the original 'Off Topicers' have left. It was fun reading some of the threads when I needed cheering up or when the servers were down!!!

Sometime between Prometheus and AL|EN, the first xenomorph finds a way to reproduce by itself (Since it is not technically a normal xenomorph but the spawn of the original impregnation alien and the "Progenitor Humanoid" that serves as the antagonist of Prometheus), leave one of its own back on the planet, and somehow travel back in time so it crashes in the Antarctic, leading up to AVP. That would make a GREAT movie.

This could also explain why there are different breeds of Xenomorph, such as the Stationary Queen (explained as a female progenitor) and the male "praetorian" (easily explained as a male progenitor), which reproduce the Progenitors in a 1/100 shot out of all the facehuggers, which when they attach themselves to humans create the "standard xenomorph".

While this would make perfect sense with the movies, it would screw up comics, games, and everything else. Screw that, games screwed up the series as well, so did "Batman Vs. Predator"
