Enough with the nerfing of weapons ....
I say "Enough is Enough" too many nerfings already.I already suggested to Trion instead of nerfing our weapon give us basic loadout or standard weapon for pvp only. This will balance the playing field for newcomers and old.
Don't touch our weapons anymore we need them to battle our enemies in the game.
I myself hates those who cloak and shotgun or big boomer you in the back cause they got no skills, but instead of asking to nerf those weapons.I would prefer a different set of weapons just for pvp.You have to remember
there are 4 more dlc to come. And every dlc there is a chance that more weapons are gonna be added to the game. And oops nerf here nerf there and nerfing everywhere by the time they finish, our weapons couldn't even kill a skirtling

    I agree stop the nerfs.
But, this game lasting for another 3 dlcs, I do not see that being possible!

Bad idea. A lot of people pve to get weapons for pvp. Standard weapons removes all progression, and I say this as a guy with far from optimal gear.

I'll never understand the mentality people have towards progression in this game. It is an MMOG, and this genre is noted for its progression focus. Removing the unique aspects of the game only serve to further dilute the game into a generic shooter.

What makes Defiance so great in my eyes is that you aren't defined purely on your ability to aim and shoot. There are numerous factors that come into play during competitive multiplayer:
    • Your general progression. Unlocking additional perk slots, leveling up your personal weapon skill, and having a high EGO shield.
    • Gear progression. Finding weapons with good bonus rolls on it, along with a good nano effect and synergy.
    • Character building. Putting together the right EGO power, the right perks, and the right items all play a key role in how your character functions.
    • Game knowledge. How well you know the maps and open world (for Shadow Wars), how perks interact, the best way to address a situation, and so on.
    • Shooter skill. Situational awareness, movement, aim, and target prioritization are all things you have to learn to excel at shooters in general

I just love how this game has so many unique factors that determine how well you perform in PvP. When people say they want EGO powers removed and default loadouts added, I have to ask why Trion should even bother with that. To remove the ability to use custom loadouts and EGO powers simply turns this game into some sort of Call of Duty knockoff, with no interesting flavor to make it stand out from the crowd of shooters on the market.

Whenever I hear calls for those changes based on a "skill" argument... learning how to use the game's features to your advantage is a skill. I just cannot take that argument seriously.

Anyhow, as for calls for less weapon nerfs, I'm on the fence about it. I think weapon balance is part of any game out there - whether it's spells, classes, skills, or guns, it's all the same. A game will never be perfectly balanced, but you absolutely have to consider the meta game when you are dealing with a multiplayer game over time. Even the most high level competitive games like StarCraft II, Dota 2, and League of Legends are in constant states of flux. There's no escaping the fact that trends and knowledge will sway the landscape of a game. It's the developer's job to diagnose the issue and address it accordingly.

My main concern for Trion is making the right choices in regards to their weapon balance. I honestly believe that the SAW was in a good place, and it was a great example of how to properly implement a weapon. It was very strong if you crouched and aimed, but it left you almost immobile while firing. I think Trion missed the mark on this one, the weapon itself was fine. The issue was the PvE side of the game did not pressure SAW users in the same way PvP players would pressure them. There's only a handful of PvE encounters I can think of that force mobility. The solution should have been adding more types of pressure to players who stood still.

Anyhow, that aside... balance just happens in games. You have to adapt and change, or fall behind and become irrelevant. We can try to influence it with posts and discussion, as well as game performance, but it will happen regardless. I just hope Trion is willing to speak with top scoring players for the sake of balancing around the highest level of play, rather than the lowest common denominator.

So your saying its better we let Trion nerf all our weapon because some people complain this gun is more powerful than the others. It will never stop because people will always complain.I understand where you coming from,I myself have a good collection of weapons that I use in pvp but I don't want them to nerf it.I need my weapons to battle my enemy(volge, dark matters,etc...)

I'm sure you'll manage to kill dark matter and volge with a toned down canker, or whatever else they're considering nerfing.

I don't even know what else they might nerf, but the canker deserves it.

Why have a need for a high ego shield its the same as a low ego just a limit on when you can use it the gear never gets better just a higher ego im at 2000 with a 600 shield havent found anything better its just a higher ego number. Considering the amount of time it takes to get there you would think the gear would be, not the same stuff that joey bag of doughnuts who just started would have.

When they nerf the canker, what's next big boomer, then the corrier....etc.It will go on cause people like you will always complain.
The first time I joined the pvp I was thinking I could easley kill some of them cause I played alot of shooting games. But I was wrong,
I got killed alot by infector, bmg. I got pissed, so pissed I wanna throw my controller to the TV.But instead of complaining I mastered my skills with the infectors and bmg and I started to enjoy killing them with the same weapons they use against me.And now they cloak and shotgun or big boomer you in the back.I got pissed, yes.But I will not asked to nerf it cause I know how to counter it.
Always remember that every power has its own weakness .

You play on a console, so your response is understandable.

If you played on the PC you would know that I don't want crappy auto-aim weapons nerfed because I have trouble doing well in pvp.

You would know this is not a problem I have. You would know it very well. :P
