Patcher wont download the game, not entitled error HELP PLEASE

I bought the CD Key from a site it was emailed to me, I then applied the code yesterday and then i downloaded the patcher and it keeps giving me the not entitled to play error, today on my trion account under previous codes applied it shows defiance and my old rift code, I have tried resetting my password many times but i still get the not entitled error, my friends bought the game from steam had this issue at first but they fixed and are downloading im still trying to find a way to fix this any help??

Well, you THINK you bought a CD key. Many 3rd party resellers here in europe were confused and only sent out pre-order keys. What is the code you see when you look at https://defiancepc.trionworlds.com/a...balance.action ?

I see: 2013-4-01 Defiance PC Code Applied PREORDER_3PD

Which means I have the pre-order entitlements but NOT the game entitlements. When I apply a REAL CD Key, I can download and play.

I'm having the same issue, is there a way to fix it?

Well here's a quick way to find out. Go to trionworlds.com, login, then click on Apply Code. Then on the bottom of the codes you put in, you'll be able to see if it was a pre-order bonus or the actual retail key. Or what MacDeath mentioned.

Did you double check your e-mail and see if they gave you another key? I believe the difference between pre-order and Defiance PC is the pre-order is for bonuses while Defiance PC is the retail game. I may not be entirely 100% but my steam gives me two keys that say the same thing.

Hi Macdeath thanks for the reply, yeh its says PRE-ORDER, does this mean I have to purchase the game again from either steam or trion? it wont play with this pre-order key?

How much did you spend on the key and what site did you go through? You may need to speak to CS with whoever the distributor you purchased from is.
