    Questions for 10/4 Twitch Livestream! bring it!
    We need to get questions in for the Twitch Live Stream!!!
    I don't remember if Trick is going to be on this week.
    I did send Elizabeth the "Volge Fortress" scenario that We asked about last week so I am re-asking that one.
    Is that feasable?
    To have enemy-held territories that We have to try and conquer, with enemy spawners that continue to make a certain number of enemies until destroyed (say 10). And some turrets to guard the fortress as well. When the spawner's unit gets killed - it makes another, etc., to get back to ten. So if there are three spawners then there are always thirty Volge troopers there until Arkhunters kill all of them and the spawners and turrets.
    Thirty minutes later, the spawners and turrets come back and it starts again.

    This is my simple idea, not like Old97's from last week.
    It can be done with Raiders in Madera, Mutants in Mt. Tam.
    No rewards or weapons, just ammo drops and exp.

    They could expand a bit on enemy-held territories, but they do have those in-game... The Dark Matter areas throughout San Fran, like Shebo Lab. I dont like the thought of them just splurting out enemies to grind exp faster and faster.

    It would be quite odd with the Volge since they rain down from the skies. Seems they have their spot until they decide they want something and start a Siege...

    I've got a few
    1:Would you ever consider allowing players to import their characters to another platform? Even as a one time only service?
    2:Would it be possible to make arkfall/siege/ect scores tracked server side so you no longer lose your progress/potential rewards if you disconnect?
    3: Can we expect the other Votan races as playable races with any of the future dlc?
    4: Are there any plans to improve the rewards for doing emergencies?
    5:not really a question, but a response to Trip about the "Volge Emergency Nerf"; Since you are unaware, ever since sieges were introduced the drop rate on volge elite in emergencies has dropped to practically nill and if you ARE lucky enough to see a drop, it is almost never better than white rarity.

    The need to drive the raptor and do Volge emergencies until a blue item drops. Then try to say again the raptor is fine and the Volge emergencies haven't been nerfed..

    When will Dark Matter enforcers get their charge blades back? Since DLC1 hit, none of them are doing their knife attacks when you are getting too close.

    1.) When will we have a fix to weapons that went to the storage cart not attaining visible mastery bonus?

    B.) When will we have a fix to mods on weapons not having visible syns?

    C.) When will we have a fix to mods that were retrieved from weapons with the salvage matrix not having visible syns?

    D.) When will we be able to change single mods on weapons without incurring a penalty. MANY mods already attached to weapons were rendered useless/pointless/wrong by Trion's alteration of mod stats, or gameplay alteration that the mods were attained and adapted to weapons for. Players would like to be able to redress weapon/mod combinations in response to Trion making these changes.

    E.) When will NPCs at Darkfalls stop rubberbanding/disappearing?

    F.) When will the Monolith at Darkfalls stop appearing 40 feet in the air while supposedly fighting from a perched position on the ground?

    G.) When will weapons appear for the mods we have that so far that have no associated weapons? Scavenger Sniper weapons come to mind.

    Would be nice to have a series of incredibly difficult co-op maps, that once completed give a different part to build either a weapon and/or shield. Each map could give different parts or materials required to build said weapon or shield, so doing a certain map numerous times would make more since.

    1. When will the shotgun mag bonus be addressed? 1.05 does nothing, and 1.10 does some strange things to the burst fire fraggers.

    This will be addressed. Answered 9/27

    2. Co-op grouping channels. What is up with the chat channels? How is it that 90% of the time ONE person gets locked out of the group and stuck in clan chat unable to communicate with the others in the co-op? Why not just have one single channel for co-op?

    3. somebody.. Tell me what exactly does the Private chat invite option do? At least on PS3 because it ain't doing shtako right now...

    4. The 200% melee on self revive bonus didn't always exist. Mind REminding me (see wut I did there?) what that bonus roll was before?

    5. Any plans to bring the other elements as converter mods?

    6. After you unlock all perks, you stop getting XP. Along with the XP, you no longer receive the kill confirmations like critical, multi, or power kills. Tbh I miss seeing that. It was addressed months ago as being in the bug database. When will it return?

    7. Rewards given for instanced events i.e. North Point Mine, Kinship Plaza, Dark Matter Base and Minor Arkfalls are sporadic at best when doing them alone or with a group. Will keycode rewards be adjusted so that everyone participating gets their just rewards?

    8. Apparently, Weapons gotten out of the Claims section will no longer receive a mastery bonus upon being mastered. Fix in place for this yet?

    9. Von Bach rep vendor items did not receive the same buff as the other rep vendors. Was this intended?

    Answered 10/4/2013. Von Bach rep vendor items have received the same bonus (10%) as the others. Case in point the EMC Assault rifle at the VBI rep vendor has a DMG of 242. The same rifle at the Hermit's Hideaway (with the sick snow camo) has a DMG of 220.


    10. Charge Blade range is either unbalanced or broken in PvP. Why is it that on my screen I'm in front of players cutting them down but on their screen I'm about 10-15 ft. away still doing damage?

    11. What the hell is wrong with that area around the Crater? The lag surrounding that area is ridiculous. Even walking from Iron Demon to The Crater about 30 secs after initially logging in and the road was completely gone. I felt like I was Criss Angel for a while there... Fast traveling to The Crater usually results in an instant timeout.

    12. I laugh whenever I read or hear people say "You have to do this to get this roll!" I say random is random. How much do actions that are performed while mastering a weapon contribute to its mastery bonus?

    13. I've always wondered why a dev never came in and clarified some of the player discussions since some weapon info and such is so vague on the weapon cards. Throw some mechanics numbers at me/us. Shield nano resistance does what? The Spanner Protector reduces damage by what? How much more damage to vehicles does a Breaker Cannon do? Things of that nature...

    14. How is it possible that the "stock" melee animation on the Charge Blade does MORE damage than the "slash" melee?

    If they play like they say they do,and they do say they play,How can some of this stuff be a surprise to them?
    As well Raptor upgrade to useable vehicle and answer on the volge emergencies dropping no gear.

    Will we ever see a battle rifle category added to the game? Semi-automatic sniper rifles are what battle rifles should be as the FRC Heavy Assault Carbine lacks enough stopping power for a semi-automatic rifle. However, SASRs can't be used as a battle rifle due to ammo reserve restrictions and Trick has expressed more interest in increasing SASRs' damage rather than increasing their ammo pool.

    Could we get a full BR category fleshed out? And a quick addition of a scope converts almost any battle rifle into a designated marksman rifle so one new rifle type really adds more like 1.5.

    Also, will we ever get reflex and/or red dot sights?

    Good call on the Reflex / Red dot. I would have loved to have that on an SMG with some synergy in the arenas.

    It was kind of touched on, but when will we if ever see any new weapons/weapon types? Or a new manufacturer other than Vot, FRC, VBI?
    I also kind of wish that each manufacturer had some characteristic that is obvious throughout all of it's weapons whether it be larger capacity, more damage, faster fire rate in addition to the random rolls. Also more uniqueness to the different manufacturers weapons.

    These are questions about the weapon balancing:

    1) When you and your team are balancing the weapons, are you taking into account all platforms? The reason I ask this is because if weapons are balanced for a controller-based interface, some weapons may be more powerful in the hands of a keyboard-mouse user and vice versa. How are you dealing with this challenge?

    2) What will happen to existing weapons? Will they magically become updated or will only newly acquired weapons have the newly balanced stats/bonuses? If the former, it can be an issue if we are not able to remove one mod at a time since there's a good chance we'd want to change one mod based on the new stats/bonuses. If the latter, we'll have some grandfathered "OP" weapons. What are your thoughts on navigating this scenario?

    - Are you planning on releasing the other DLC's (3, 4, 5) before the start of season 2?

    - Any plans for player intervention that have effect on the storyline of either game or show?

    - Replayability of sections of the questline was mentioned. Might this include a possible LFG channel/system?

    - Is a bank denied because of cost or technicality? A.k.a. if you put a 100 slot bank in shop, is that ok (3rdpig/BLQQD)?

    1.) Any plans to nerf the in-game store prices on outfits? (They seem rather pricey, considering it's just a cosmetic change to our characters, and they're not even seen 100% of the time by other players.)

    2.) Any plans to put Defiance TV show themed outfits for sale in the store? (Not necessarily outfits pulled straight from a specific episode, but outfits that are "inspired by" what's been shown during season 1 episodes.)

    3.) Motorcycles. They seem to be a popular vehicle choice of the Spirit Riders and others from the TV show. Any plans to add them into the game as a mode of transportation in the future?

    My question is more of elaboration on a previous answer.

    in regards to loot progression.

    "There is a long involved story why it is the way it is. I want to have loot progression, the old system didn't work out."

    So there's no argument that the old system didn't work out, and there was some slight progression during one of the alpha tests. Then it vanished without a word and we ended up with the current system which isn't very desirable at all with so many worthless stats.

    So what is this long involved story with why it is the way it is now? you could make it into a blog post, people would love to know about it, you can also detail how you plan on implementing the loot progression and what it will entail, maybe even a time frame.

    Can we expect more attractive outfits that we can get in the game, instead of buying them? There are players among us, who like to be rewarded for playing instead of visiting the store.

    Now that the transition from San Diego to Redwood is complete for Defiance, some transparency on the team would be nice:

    1. How many people are -currently- on the official Team of Devs for Defiance?
    2. Can you please name starting with the Executive Producer(as Chris' status has remained unclear since August) the heads/leads for the game for each dev section? Or if the team is just a handful of people, can you name them all?

    We only officially know -1- person affiliated with the team and that is Trick Dempsey. In April we supposedly had 150 people working for the team, then a 70% reduction in staff during the summer then more lost during the office move, so transparently letting us know who and how many helps everyone have a better picture of things.

    Livestream needs a big Whiteboard on the wall to tell people not to ask about Next Gen, and when DLC 2 will come out...

    They said there is no announcement for Next Gen pretty much every week. And why in the HELL would they timeline DLC 2, when DLC 1 isnt even in full effect yet??

    Think people... come on now...

    All of these questions are great but will they ever get the issues fixed with the server disconnects.When I get DC'd its ALWAYS when a major event is going to finish.And now it takes a hard restart when I get DC'd where it was just jump back in game, which ment I might still be able to catch the end of the event.Loss of all rewards, its all I get since I can't get anymore XP but that issue is for another day.

    Different kind of countdown timer. Give the thread a read, I put in pics to show what I mean, but basically the timers are in the map legend and are counting down until the next event of said type pops again. So you can see how long until the next siege pops or until the next major Arkfall hits. The second part of that is a notification in the chat window letting you know what event just popped and what area it's located in.
