How to appease the masses...With style!!!
I've never asked for anything in this game other than to see it fixed and for Trion to show some thanks to the players who have stuck by it since the start, of which I am one. I'm still playing after 7 months so I can't deny the fact that I've had my moneys worth.

I don't play as much as I used to but I would if things ran better and they got the bugs sorted out as I really do still get a lot of fun from playing (Still can't play for a whole night without multiple disconnections), but I do want to show this quick comparison just for arguments sake...

For all the bugs and problems we suffer, what do we get in return??? Maybe the odd bonus loot weekend or something along the lines of that, along with lots of promises of 'we're working on them' or 'soon,' which never seem to pan out without breaking something else ingame, and we very rarely get any decent patch notes anymore...This lack of communication is the biggest deal breaker for me at the moment.

Rockstar have just announced today that all players of GTA V Online are going to get 500,000 GTA$ (Half a Million) by the end of the month as a thank you for putting up with all the problems at launch along with tons of notes and fixes of exactly what has been fixed so far, what is being fixed next and, more importantly, when...

It's all there on their website if you want to check for yourself (socialclub.rockstargames.com).

This thread is NOT meant as a dig. It's meant as a comparison just to point out a few differences between two companies who want us gamers to support their product and to continue to do so...

Now that, in my opinion, is how to appease the masses in style!!!!!!!

    # Just saying.

I say more xp bonuses. Although Im a couple hundred away from 5000. I notice that low level players don't seem to feel as cool be under 2000. Even though it doesn't effect their performance much, its just that number looming over their heads.

Yesterday was the first time in a week that the vendor stations at Muir actually spawned into existence.

I don't want free money. I don't want another XP or loot-boost weekend. I want them to fix the game.

I want the game to get fixed as well, but I do see what the OP is saying. Some kind of gesture like that on their part would be nice, just to show that they appreciate all the people who have stuck around.

They gave us a couple freebies in May and people screamed that it wasn't enough, and the people who had just got the game whined that they weren't given the hand out. I agree some kind of Ark Hunter appreciation day/week would be nice, but I'd rather they concentrate on fixing the bugs and giving us Dlc 2 sooner.

Im playing gta v online now and i got a message saying about what their giving me and their fixes are working alot better then defiance has it's just down to pride rockstar cares more about its games and customers then trion does which is very evident.

For now I haven't seen any problems. Then again, I'm new around here and in the game. Rockstar is Rockstar. EA is EA. And Trion is Trion. To compare developer companies is to compare Italian mobs to Irish Mobs. Shrugs.

I hope they continue supporting this game cause I like it so far...

This is not necessarily the case. I suspect that Rockstar may simply have a much, much larger pool of developers / employees working on GTA than Trion does on Defiance. If that's the case, you can't really blame Trion's employees for the slow development in implementing fixes.

What bleeds my patience with this game are the seemingly-nonsensical decisions being made, like changes no one asked for to grenades, another new type of arkfall coming instead of something truly new and exciting, or 'boosting spikes'. I have not seen a single person excited for any of this. And yet we still have horrible, *horrible* weapon boosts and synergy combinations, crippling bugs, and broken interfaces.

The idea that there are an appropriate number of rare weapons being dropped is a flat-out lie, when the majority of those rare weapons being dropped have useless boosts or mismatched synergy sets. I understand that it may be difficult to implement a fix. But how difficult can it be to program the vendors to stop selling scavenger sniper mods?

We know future DLC is going to be far, far later than was stated (despite their dancing around it).
They need to just ignore the hopelessly-late DLC and channel every bit of resources they have into fixing everything that's wrong first. I can't help but feel all the more strongly about it since the next DLC isn't exciting to myself, or anyone I know, with exception for the new interface. And the very fact the the most exciting thing about a DLC is a fix for something that already exists is itself sad and telling.

I agree for the most part Lilith, but people HAVE asked for instanced Arkfalls more akin to the show. As for grenades, it's true nobody asked, but we should have had a limited grenade pool from the start, like we do ammo. Either that or infinite ammo to go with the infinite grenades. ala Mass Effect 1. It's the perceived new grenade mechanics that seem to be the biggest isssue, but we won't know for sure until it happens. As for the new interface, if you are talking about the new/improved chat, don't hold your breath. The CURRENT chat interface was introduced with Dlc 1 as a fix to the originnal crappy chat, and it just changed it from somewhat broken to completely useless to most. Either the third time will be the charm, or it will DESTROY what little is left of usability in chat, wich btw is currently only usable for the Defiance Solicitors, buyers, and salers.

I use the chat because my Internet stinks making whatever I say in the mic all staticky. I do agree it needs a re-do.
