Yes, I noticed this most with Dark Matter snipers, too.
So, is there anything that gives knockback resistance?
It's irritating, but I'm not sure if I want to change my specs just to avoid this one effect.

** I'm not the expert, I don't claim to be smarter, I'm just discussing.**
I see Chevota's point, but I mostly agree with Kate. I get whacked in the back I'm putting distance between us before I stop/turn and fight. I'm not going to blindly run towards who-knows-what without a plan. In many cases the reason I'm running in the first place is because I'm already outgunned/out-matched/ outta-ammo.
As far as changing my specs is concerned, once you have the majority/all perks anyway - it's just a matter of equipping one in place of another if you're going into a situation. I don't run medic or hell-on-wheels all the time, but I swap them in on certain missions.
The only time I have a problem with the knock back is when a tanker is letting rip at me as for the DM snipers I kind of like it as I then know where the shot came from.
OK, fair in that limited sense.
Hows about it's a check-box in the control panel?
** Check = You spin around and face your attacker. If you're already running you spin and run towards your attacker. The 'down-side' is that if you get hit by 3 snipers in succession - you spin to face each one, making no progress to egress, and never getting your bearings before you die.** Blank = You continue to run as fast as you can so you can un-@$$ the AO ASAP.
The problem with the Tanker knockback is that the second rocket is 2 seconds from your face by the time you recover. If you aren't able to do a quick roll in time for the third rocket you're toast.
In some cases you are turned around to face the explosion not the attacker.
I find the Volge Bomber to be a prime example of this. You are moving forward firing, yet you are turned around when the "bombs" land behind you. A little frustrating... :)
Think someone else might have already mentioned this but Blur makes you immune to knockback.
Also, performing a combat roll helps.
If a monarch does it's 'roll' attack through you, if you roll, you'll still take damage but you won't be thrown back and will recover quickly.
The scenario with the Volge bomber - hardly happens to me since I always roll to avoid their attacks. I still get hit and take damage and there is some stagger, but I don't get turned around.
Not too sure about the 3 snipers or tanker.
Never had a scenario where that was unavoidable.
