What's up with mission drops and MODS!?

So, just before the newest update, I noticed that every mission I did, until I finished the entire map, had mods. GREEN MODS. So I am teaching my nephews how to play Defiance and walking them through their missions, hanging back and shooting at nastier enemies for them, when the oldest of the 2 says, aw, I got a crappy BLUE MOD for a shotgun, should I break it down since I don't have a shotgun?

Of course I didn't believe him so I went to his screen and checked. It was a level 3 mod for a shotgun!

Now wait, I remember that mission, and it gave me a green mod last time I went through. Now they are BLUE!?

So not cool for those of us who busted our ***** on these missions, and got stale bread as a reward. What's up with THAT!?

I'm not even going to go on about the Legendary weapons that became schtako once the update came out. Now the wandering vendors are ridiculing people for trying to sell them and advising people NOT to buy OLD Legendaries. Nice one guys...

Mod Cache rewards for side missions are just as random as lock boxes. just means the RNG didn't like you.

I'll happily take your blue mods, if you don't want them.

I wish I didn't know then what I don't know now.

If you are talking about side missions, most of my drops were blues. I hoarded scrip through most of the game and rarely bought anything from vendors, aside from a hat and occasional weapon. Now I'm broke again.

They basically give you the tools to build up your arsenal.
If you do the side missions right, and you're a little lucky.
I screwed this up, and they're gone now.

Makes me very happy that I saved a handful of those weapons from the side missions. Don't think I'll ever get rid of my fully modded XAR-22 assault rifle. LOL ;)
