Your logic is misplaced. If something costs 75 keycodes you only need space for 75.
Ultimately, of course, that 75 keycode item will actually cost you more as it's very unlikely that anyone will ever get exactly 75 keycodes...so some are going to be wasted.
So Trion...did you consider that when you added the Epic Mod Hoards?
Your toon can hold 75 keys. If you're at 73 and do an event where more are rewarded, you will receive 2 and the others fall by the wayside. Why is this so hard to understand? If the Epic Mod Hoards cost 75 keys, its easy to deduce that you need to earn 75 keys and spend them all on the box. Pretty simple.
If Mary has 47 keycodes and wants to buy a golden pony lockbox, and Paul has 63 keycodes and wants to buy a Las Vegas Lotto lockbox, and both Mary and Paul need spikes and stims to feel better about themselves, how long 'til dlc2 is released?
Yes they probably did consider it and did it purposely so that things cost more.
1- You get close to the max you can hold and spend to max out. Or...
2- You go over your max and lose the difference.
Either way, its more expensive on you.

It's no. 2, I had 71 keys, bought additional 10 by mistake and lost 6 keys, salvage and scrip.

It's not rocket science people. You can buy keycodes in 10, 5 and 1 key increments from the Lock Box vendors and the cost per key is no different (1000 Ark Salvage). If you can't figure out how to avoid losing out on keycode awards with the game as it is then you deserve to lose them. :rolleyes:

Whippersnapper originally asked the question basing his assumption on the fact that Trion doesn't actually profit from keys being bought with salvage and scrip.
So Trion pulling a fast one here and charging the same thousand scrip / key for those last two keys you might need is just smarmy.

I ignored it because it's trivial. Players are actually going to complain about spending a thousand scrip regardless of whether it's 1, 5 or 10 keys when there's a simultaneous 25% free loot boost going on? I made a over a fifty thousand scrip playing casually and selling loot to the vending machines today.

not entirely, if someone is 1 keycode short from 75 ie; 74, they enter into a arkfall and say they get 5 keycodes. 4 of those will be lost
the max should be at 80. because at that max there will be nobody going ever being 6 is the most you can gain. unless they are retarted.
however you can make it 84 because why would u get 10 keycodes at 75? you would prob want 10 keycodes at 74 if you are low on script
They should just remove the stupid cap. Its a game about loot hunting and basically being a bounty hunter, of Ark falls, so why would someone like that only have a certain (and small) amount.

they aren't raising it for everyone for free like your post implies, therefor they are not really raising it. What they are doing is adding the ability to by more keycode slots from the bit store for real cash, with a max of 125 total. You want more slots, you have to BUY more slots.
