SCRIP MISSING: Taking to much?

The economy actually sparked up again for a day or two, and partly due to a programming error in vendor buy back coding.

Now the Area chat is blowing up about people missing scrip. Upon talking to these people, I've learned that they all took advantage of the ExtraLife vendors shield buy and sell price.

I didn't do this glitch, and so none of my scrip is gone. BUT! There's always a but... These same people that admit to taking advantage of poor programming also are missing much more scrip than they earned through the vendor.

Was this the intended punishment? Was this punishment even warranted? It was nice seeing a lot of trading going on. And it's also nice to see Trion take action against a form of cheating. But did they take it to far?

Maybe it was a troll by trion meaning that if you take advantage over something karma kicks in...

Trion shouldn't have done this...having all this script actually helped to make merchanting more lively.

To me, this a big **** you, that trion has once again implemented....

It was there fault in the first place for making the vendor exploitable, and now they are going out of their way to hunt these players down to **** them over.

As for my other friends...one of my friends actually ended up losing about 100 purple mods also, along with 8 mil scrip, where 1 scrip was actually made using the exploit, but they took ALL OF IT.

As for me...I believe I got banned for some time(since I can't log in suddenly, even though friends can), and I also most likely lost script, and maybe even some of my legendaries...

This was a stupid decision...

Not a good step for trion. Sure, give the players a slap on the wrist, but don't take all of there scrip.

Well it teaches them not to do glitches or explicits when able to, they need to earn scrip the right and fair like everyone else needs to. I have been selling mods and oranges since a couple of months ago and i have a nice fair of scrip, but people shouldnt be able to get the same or more amount of scrip than me in a matter of minutes IMO.

True, it will teach them. Teach them to quit, instead of learning a lesson I would think.

I can understand if they take away the scrip made from the exploit, but taking all of that persons scrip is a little much.

It seemed like trion was actually trying to do something nice for community who have put up with this game through what still seems like an advanced beta. Feeding the community with some script and items. Ohh that's cool. Guess it was more like an entrapment scam to kick you in the nuts again and again.

But how do we even know that this is permanent? It could be temp just to see how much scrip they took and give the rest they earned back to them.

After trion used us for charity event, giving us scrip is the only consolation I could think of.But they don't need us anymore so,they're f u c king us again.What is scrip compare to the dollars? Don't used us anymore trion for another charity event .Cause you su ck at appreciation.After all the effort we gave you.You managed to steal our hard earn scrip.

This is completely bs!!!!! Actually banning and removing people's scrip who noticed this bug is completely stupid. They have several different accounts to fix this exploit during the event at increments of every 6 hours so yeah. They screwed up and now they are screwing us over to better their actions.

I agree, I'm afraid of what I'll find when I log in tomorrow...

we suffer for what they put in the game and we the community found it usefull anything the community finds usefull is always taken away

even people who used the vendor was banned or taken scrip from

If they take 500k from each of my characters I'll be OK with that, b/c that was the extent of what I made. If I was banned or any more are missing I'm throwing in the towel. Its bad enough they ruined my arsenal, but when I try to get my scrip back they may have screwed me.

That's nuts... I don't understand their back lash. It WAS their mistake after all.

Some of you amaze me, just because the clerk made a mistake, or the vault door is broken, or the bank over charged you, doesn't mean you can waltz in and clean them out without some kind of reprisal.

And the Comedy of Errors seems to continue...

So, as usual, Trion didnt do a quality job on the game and allowed a significant exploit. In response they're popping those who used it(and some who didnt even touch it) with scrip removal and bannings(someone on another thread supposedly). In indignation, those who were punished, be it for truly exploiting or not, are foot stomping, threatening to leave or in fact have left.

All in all, Trion screwed up, and players also screwed up and more people are leaving due to it all.

Sounds like a fitting win to me. :rolleyes:

WTF I have had a ticket open since that stupid vendor showed up, because I purchased a bunch of every item before I realized that the previous item was deleted when the new item went into my inventory and they don't seem all that worried about fixing that.

The fact of the matter is Trion has known about this exploit because of the Von Bach shield glitch. Trion didnt even check for a mistake that was already made. So I get punished and lose 13 million scrip when more then half of it was legit mine.

Again Trion putting effort into taking away from old school players instead of giving me dlc.

I mean if they wanted to bring down the hammer, they should have thrown out a warning. Like on the forums or even the live stream. Most would have avoided the exploit, Myself included. I actually stumbled on it in that last hour. I was keeping an eye on the forums and live stream throughout the day. Not an word from Trion.

i think they should give people back there scrip and items and not let this happen again cause half of the people that have done this are already out of scrip and more people are gonna go broke on there own fault they dont need trions help and people who are smart about there scrip should be able to keep it since thats the reason why they still have mils

But... Trion doesnt do charity. Just bad publicity. :P

I think Trion wants us to get pissed cause if we all quit then they don't need to finish all the dlc lol

they dont but they realize they are gonna loose a huge chunk of players because why go back to redo days and weeks even months of game play on a game that is loosing players and dlc is taking its time

All indications are that Trion begrudgingly tolerates dealing with Defiance. They -barely- could even be bothered to play it during the event(seemingly had to be prodded through complaint before they even started).

Its the brussel sprouts on Trion's plate so to speak.

Yeah look at extra life. Most of their time was spent on Rift.

lol @ ppl getting mad because they got caught. You guys try and exploit the game every which way possible all the time. You never take a little, you always take a lot. And if you could in one easy swoop you would take it all from everybody.

This is the scenario. You are a punk kid Trick or Treating. You come up to a nice decorated house with a bowl of good candy that sits on the front porch. With a sign written in spooky letters that's says "Please take one.". And what do you do? You open up your bag and pour the whole bowl of candy into it! And then you laugh and skip down the drive way...

...but what your punk *** didn't know was that a bigger kid lives in that house and he was watching you though his bedroom window. He saw you take the whole bowl of candy. He then comes running out of the house and catches you. And because you took the whole bowl of candy for yourself, which was supposed to be used and be fun for everyone else to, he takes your whole bag of candy away from you. The candy that you stole and all the candy that you earned. End

I hope my story put some things in perspective for everyone. Trion is handing out old school Halloween justice...and I like it :cool:

If that were true they would have to do something that pissed off more than a miniscule percentage of the player base.
I'm not saying they can't pull that off, but this is not it.

I, for once, find it fair to take the scrip made through the shield exploit, but not the legit earned scrip or OJs.

I disagree, the sign should have said take one or else... Stealing doesn't justify stealing. Two wrongs don't make a right. Especially when the boundaries are so vaguely defined.
