Sorry, but no. There are plenty of more people in the game who did not use the exploit, either knowingly (when they heard about it from other people) or unknowingly (when they saw the vendor prices themselves, but knew of nothing else). We have also heard from people that did sell some things to the vendor, but were not punished. So obviously, those that were punished took the act to an extreme enough level to warrant the punishment.


But it wasn't a fair price. A fair price is what the other vendors pay for those items. Again, many people used that vendor and the red flags went up for them. They have not been punished because they didn't use the exploit. They reported the issue and moved on - they didn't have to stop playing the game. They simply had to not make use of something that was clearly acting in a fishy manner.

There are a lot of unfair prices. Its unfair to spend 64 keys and 2,000 scrip for a box to spit out 4 greens. Its unfair to pay 24 keys and 1,000 scrip to get all greens. It's unfair to buy 30, 40, 50 boxes and receive no legendary weapons. It works both ways. Its more than fair considering its the price that TRION PUT IN THE VALUE WINDOW! If you ever look at your inventory and you look at the top right corner of an item guess what it says that the vendor paid. If its unfair to accept the value from Trion placed by Trion then its time to redefine fair and unfair. This is just another vendor produced by Trion that had different prices. You telling me that if everyone in the game could sell common weapons for 500sc and you had to sell it for 100sc and that was like all the other vendors in your game that you would stand for it and you would refuse to sell it for anything else since "Every other vendor sold it for the cheaper price" give me a break. There is no exploit when you sell your own item to a vendor. Its only an exploit if we did something that the game did not allow us to do (i.e. sell an item for more than what the game allowed to a vendor through some sort of hack) or if we did things that normally we would not do (i.e. buy and sell the same weapon over and over again). Whats next I cant buy vendor specials because the other vendors dont sell it for that price? No solid ground here dude. Think about what your saying.

Not everyone. I didnt get banned but I am out my legendary weapons that I sold to a vendor. Is everyone really that narrow minded? It is not exploiting if you did nothing wrong. I had items and I sold them to a vendor. I got the items from enemies slain and took those items and sold them at a "Special Vendor" who showed up every 6 hours. Why didnt the vendor stay the whole time during the 25 hours? Its very safe to believe that the reason was due to the special pricing. Otherwise there is no reason for them to bring it out every 6 hours. Its not an exploit its a feature of the game that was used. There was no crime committed because no laws were broken even the dumbest of people can understand that.

The vendor only had to show up 1 time no matter how broke someone is they could have bought every item the first go round. Nothing changed with each appearance, no new weapons, no new shields, not even different nano or synergy types. Thats enough to warrant hide and seek? Hiding with the same items and appearing with same items? Man I cant wait til Soleptor and other faction vendors start appear and disappearing to show us the same stuff. The items could not be traded so its not like the people could have flooded the market with them.

And that's why they changed it. And that's why I stopped buying them after the second or third one until they did. Again, common sense!

That's called RNG. It's not my favorite mechanic to use as a "gold sink" but it's one I prefer to have in this game than have to pay to use the Quick Travel option or put petrohol into my roller.

No it doesn't. This is Trion's game, so Trion decides the way it goes and what is fair and unfair. The choice we have as players is to either play the game, or to go find another game that suits our mood better. I don't remember the last time I ever looked at the number in the value window. The only number I am concerned about is the one that the vendor gives me when I go to sell an item to him/it.

I am thinking about what I am saying, and 30 years of gaming mechanics and previous stances on exploits in MMOs to back it up. It seems to me you aren't very familiar with the concept of exploits and how MMO companies handle them. As I mentioned, what Trion is doing here is pretty much a slap on the wrist - all those who have received punishment should feel fortunate.

Again, ultimately, the key here is that there are a great many number of players in this game that did not use the exploit. There are also many who sold items to the vendor and were not punished because they did not do it to an extreme manner. You obviously did. Whether you did it out of ignorance or willingness is irrelevant, as has happened in this circumstance in every other MMO in history, you have been punished for it.

Because it was more fun and caused more player involvement to have it the way they did. It makes sense to have the inventory remain the same because of the brief spawn time. That way people wouldn't feel that they missed out on anything because they missed any of the previous spawns.

No it's not safe to say that. It would be only safe to say that had Trion representatives explicitly stated that's why the vendor was designed to appear only every six hours. They never did, so it was your own erroneous assumption that made you come to that conclusion. A great many other players came to a different conclusion, and thus have no fear of punishment.

Not narrow, simple.
I sold much of my inventory because the prices were good.
I am not a trader so my inventory is never that full.
I bought many of the weapons the vendor sold.
I lost no scrip,and I got no ban.
Simple.

I never got banned or punished I just go screwed out of my legendary weapons that I sold to the vendor. I am not ignorant because I used something that the game put in for me to use as a place to sell my legendary weapons, and im not willingly exploiting anything. I sold weapons to a damn vendor (npc that BUYS and sells weapons). Sounds like 30 years of gaming mechanics have only taught you that when the game says bend over you say thank you sir may I have another and for you its justified because "they said so". 30 years of gaming mechanics have made you spineless. Whats next, they lose your character on their server with all your items and then they come back and all they have to say is sorry we screwed up and its ok? Oh wait, 30 years of gaming mechanics would say yes its ok right? I did not exploit anything, I did not get banned but I am out my 10 legendary weapons that I sold to the vendor. Plain and simple. I must be crazy to think that maybe Trion might actually have a "Special Vendor" that buys my weapons for the first time ever at a "Special Price" (the value given to me by Trion in my inventory list) and on top of that only gives an opportunity for it every six hours....that makes no sense that doesnt portray any characteristics of a "Special Vendor" , so weird....I'm done talking about this. Everyone has their opinion and is entitled to it. I respectfully disagree with your stand point on this.

everyone has their own goal on the game. Mine is to kill enemies, get loot, sell the loot, and make money. If you choose to not fill your inventory that is your choice. I choose to make money and get weapons not much left on the game that works right except that and now that is going away. If you want to settle for no inventory, minimal loot, and being simple than more power to you. I am not a bad person for filling my inventory and selling to a vendor it doesnt take away from effort put into acquiring the loot. Its hard to miss what you never had. Get over 300 legendary weapons through hard work and lots of time on the game and have that game take away 10 of them for no fault of yours. You wouldnt understand its too complex for those who are simple.

It is not my intent to upset you.
You got no punishment so I am having a hard time understanding what the upset is about.
You sold weapons at a good price and now they are gone.

I sold a huge portion of my inventory, includeing crappy legendary weapons, and have had no scrip remved. Dont see why yours was if you did not use the exploit.

I had mine removed and thats why im so upset. I also know of a lot of people who did the exploit and nothing happened to them. there is no balance. No matter if they did the exploit or not it shouldnt affect those things sold to the vendor that you didnt buy from the vendor and me along with others all had that happen. those who did the bought and sold the shield its fair to take away the money they acquired that way but thats it. This type of exploit of game mechanics should not be that severe considering it was something that trion did and not something that we randomly made happen or hacked to make happen. They screwed up and we used their screw up. Because it was not what they intended should not warrant such a hefty punishment. When someone sells something and it incorrectly priced it goes to the customer....if it took them a while to realize they were all priced incorrectly it is not the consumer's fault. Plain and simple. They should have caught it sooner "customer's always right" and yes I work in retail and know all about price screw ups and i work for a company that stands behind their word 100%. If price changes arent done and the price goes up on something and is advertised at a lower price then we take care of it. This is the same situation, the difference is we would have caught it sooner and trion should have too. No company takes back the item and makes the customer pay more....and thats whats going on here.
