Is there a builds guide around?
    I'm looking for loadout builds.
I have the ones at Guidescroll, but I'm hoping for others. With so many perks & weapons, surely there are many unique builds out there with interesting effective ideas behind them?

I really need to put some effort into creating a builds DB for Defiance Data, I'd love to see peoples builds in a consolidated format.

I was talking to my co-worker about this on our way to work today. The problem I foresee is that it would be a huge endeavor!

Consider. 2 play styles. Aggressive and Passive Aggressive. Pistols, LMG's, SMG's, AR's, and Shottys in the aggressive pool. Snipers, Launchers, Detonators, and Healers in the passive aggressive pool. *Notice I didn't include Infectors. I don't know much about them yet, so don't know how to classify their play style.

There are 4 EGO Abilities. There are 80 perks. There are 9 perks available on my load out at 2850ish. There are several different "Instances" that require different type of play throughout the game. I have all 5 of my load outs set up completely different depending on what I'm going to do, and I wish I had 5 more load out options, as I'm using one as my Misc., changing it constantly for different things or weapon progression.

Etaew, I commend you if you tackle this.

It'd be reasonably simple if we could get over the hurdle of getting the info from the DEFI inventory into a database....

Unfortunately, it's all hand entry, and I can't see enough people doing it to go far... good idea, but yikes....

    :)

Well I dont really classify loadouts in styles of play. Rather, built around 1-2 ideas. For example, I have an loadout designed around keeping Overcharge on as much as possible, with Pumped Up as the perk lynchpin, and a Flare gun to abuse it with.

I know there are loadouts built around explosives and their bonuses, defensive loadouts, reload-based loadouts for dps in mind (shooting virtually non-stop), and others.

Playstyles do count, but because perks give only minor bonuses, builds seem to be built around 1-2 core ideas. Since these are so important to play effectively, I would have thought there would be a comprehensive build list out there. It wouldn't need to be a huge endeavor. Just the Ego Power, Perks, weapons and/or bonuses/mods where applicable. Like so:

Overcharge: Killing Machine, Quick Charge, Pumped Up, Risk Taker, Time Out, Killing Spree, Energy Leech, Bloodlust, Kinetic Transfer
Weapons: Primary weapon of choice, Secondary: Flare gun or other 1 shot weapon of choice.
Ideal bonuses: EGO Power recharge bonus on reload (perfect bonus!) or on crit kill (duh!), reload bonuses, Stowed weapon reload (on primary only)
Masteries: Any power recharge mastery, reload mastery is ok.
Synergies: Assassin- to help the EGO recharge on crits, Stalker- for the Ego recharge bonus

The Idea: You want Overcharge up virtually non-stop. So Pumped Up and 1 shot secondary weapons are used along with the other ego duration, recharge perks and bonuses to either keep it up or get it up asap. You want to use your main weapon when its up and switch to your 2nd to pump it up & DoT enemies while you're at it.

Yes you can inspect, but you can't see the details I believe.

AGGRESSIVE ANNIHILATION - my Volge Siege setup

TLDR ~ Weapons = FRC AR + VBI TACC AR. EGO Power = Overcharge. Perks = Killing Machine, Quick Charge, Time Out, Pumped Up, Energy Leech, Killing Spree, Overload, Hunters Stance, Prepared...

    In-Depth:

~Primary Weapon: FRC Assault Carbine for close-medium range engages. MODS: Stability Sight/Assault Scope (since youll use your Secondary for Long range, set this up for Close-Range), Ionic Barrel, External Recoil Reduction, High Cap Mag.
(Preferably any Fully Automatic. SAWs have too much recoilfor my liking. SMGs, VBI AR, and Thunder LMG fire rate is too high, so youll have to hit the Ammo Crates too often)

~Secondary Weapon: VBI TACC Assault Rifle for medium-long range engages. MODS: Commando Scope (Unless you're using a Single-Shot going much further into zoom wont help too much, your Accuracy at that point is pretty static), Ionic Barrel, External Recoil Reduction, High Cap Mag (given good mag rolls, Controlled Burst Mag)
(Accuracy is your key here. Although using another AR/SMG/LMG can kill my ammo pool, the fact its Burst Fire cuts way down on ammo-use, so dont be afraid to go double-AR in this kind of setup as long you can temper the usage of 1. I'd also suggest an FRC Heavy Assault Carbine with high mag rolls, making use of a Controlled Burst Mag mod)

~EGO Power: Do I even really need to tell you I use Overcharge?
(I mean c'mon... More Damage, Instant Reload... Overcharge is where its at.)

~EGO Perks: Now the fun begins. I use these mostly in pairs, and you'll read why in the list...
1 + 2 = Quick Charge + Killing Machine: Overcharge-specific Cooldown/Duration perks. Pretty standard 2 perks, each EGO Power has their own variation of these 2 perks. (I feel these 2 perks, for whichever Power you're using, are Mandatory)

*Thats 1 Cooldown, and 1 Duration Increase perk*

3 + 4 = Time Out + Pumped Up: Non-power specific Cooldown/Duration perks upon FULL RELOAD. When you fully reload a weapon, either of these 2 perks will activate with any of the EGO powers you are running. (Again, I fel these 2 are Mandatory, ESPECIALLY if you use a 1-shot weapon)

*So far, you have 2 Cooldowns, and 2 Duration Increase perks*

(I left these 2 for last since they depend on Kills, but you should be kills to activate both of these. I realize they may not be great for Volge Sieges, but for just about everywhere else in PvE, these are great.)
5 + 6 = Energy Leech + Killing Spree: Non-specific KILL activated Recharge/Duration. When you get a kill, you will activate either of these 2 perks, these 2 will affect any EGO power you are using.

*You now have 3 Cooldowns, and 3 Duration Increase perks, you then see how dependent the build is on Overcharge and its increased Damage output.*

7 = Overload: Increase reload speed while Overcharge is Active. (Remember Time Out? Fully Reload increases Duration? Well, now you spend less time making that Reload, GREAT for LMG's)

(When using Time Out, it is almost imperative to use Overload. Take advantage of your Duration reload, make it faster!)

8 = Hunters Stance: When Crouched, Critical hits are multiplied. So get low, and face-shot those Volge. (Learn to use the Combat Roll to move when needed, keep in mind youre incredibly vulnerable since youre no longer mobile)

9* = *Gunslinger can be combined with Hunters Stance if you hip-fire, say with a Shotgun or 0-Bloom SMG... When pairing HS + GS, this will fill out your Perks if you follow this guide.*

All of these Perks are also acceptable 9th-slot Perks:
Prepared - Bloodlust - Deadly Cascade - Insult To Injury - Kill or be Killed - Nerves of Steel - Sucker Punch

*Just understand your 9th Perk for exactly what it is... If you have a Low-Cooldown Frag, you may want to pick Deadly Cascade. Keep in mind thats what you picked and chuck them Nades often as you can, into the biggest groups you can*

In episode 2, I will be bringing you my Afflicted Obliteration loadout... Hope you enjoy
