I cry BS - after all the Sieges I have done I have gotten one Purple Volge rifle.
I cry BS - after all the Sieges I have done I have gotten one Purple Volge rifle.
Of 4 Characters I run I have around 30 of the d@mn guns (OJ and PP). I can't afford or find the darn mods to boost them fast enough. Of interest is my lower level chars seem to get siege guns regularly and have little script while my higher level (script heavy) character that I want to get one finally pulled his first OJ siege rifle this weekend.
I believe Trion stated you have a chance to get the Volge Rifles in the top two ranks. So 20k and...15k? I forget what the second highest score is.
However I've done a ton of sieges and haven't seen any drop for me at all. No blue, purple or orange. I've given up. I'd love a purple or blue one but I ****ing HATE RNG. It's such a BS concept.
So I guess I'll always have my amazingly crappy green one I got before the new rolls system was in place.
I think weapons have a circulation limit. Since the Volge weapons are new(er) they are not as heavily saturated into the community so they drop more frequently from boxes and as prizes.
What I mean by this is that each weapon and rarity have a cap. Lets use the example below as an example of community saturation.
HYPOTHETICAL
1 orange in circulation per 100 active accounts in the game.
10 Purple in circulation per 100 active accounts in the game.
20 Blue in circulation per 100 active accounts in the game.
50 green in circulation per 100 active accounts in the game.
This would explain why you never pull great stuff out of the boxes anymore. The only way more of the best items will drop from boxes is if players break them down or if they sell them back to the store. This is bad news for active players because a lot of the people that built huge inventories of OJs for resale may have gotten board and moved on to other games while keeping all those great weapons out of circulation.
So with this theory, the new volge stuff will drop more often because it may not have reached it's community saturation limit so they are handed out more frequently.
I'm sticking too this theory even though Trion said it a while ago, then quickly said they didn't say it.
@Overkill - Trion has said a lot of things that are not true. I believe the saturation limit is true, but Trion quickly hit the undo button after somebody maybe leaked that this is how the system works. Of course Trion would say saturation limit is not true because that kind of info would keep players from buying boxes and in turn hurt their "bits" sales.
Trion can say what they want, but the evidence of all my playing since launch points to a saturation limit being true. If it wasn't, every player would have an orange saw by now. I can't even get a green respark regen to drop from lockboxes or from random enemy drops. "Random is Random" is a great shield to hide behind but computers always have a schedule and set of instructions. It can't think for itself. It knows what it's programmed to know so it must be feed a list of available items that it can give out.
Back in my day people complained orange drops were a myth!
Well, 4 LMG's in 3 days including b2b2b, last 2 both being Assassin...
Either I am/was on a GREAT run, or topic proves true - They drop way too often... not that im complaining, hooked up a clanmate, and made 210k on LMG's alone.
So the computer is less likely to have been instructed to do exactly as they say it does and instead we should believe that the folks at Trion are malicious liars?
You're gonna have to give me more than "the evidence of all my playing since launch points to a saturation limit being true."
What evidence do you have? Have you been canvassing players collecting data on lockbox drops and correlating this data with population drop data that you can't possibly have?
What's the cutoff for an "active account"?
Why haven't drops just completely stopped? since I have like 400 weapons all on my own and over a quarter of them are orange.
I understand you think a saturation limit is the case, but they have point blank said that is not the case. To continue with your paranoid line of thinking is just fitting yourself for that tin foil hat.
