    eliminate the useless mag roll on shotgun
    if you can eliminate the melee roll on everything but shotguns then you can eliminate the COMPLETELY USELESS mag roll on shotguns , there are no shotguns that will ever benefit from the mag rolls that you put in the game for shotguns the most anyone can ever get from any combination of mag rolls on a shotgun is 1 extra shot and for anyone who gets multiple of these rolls on a legendary its an insult , TRION please do something about this

    It's really simple. Every bonus should have an effect, and every level of bonus should be better than the ones below it. If your system doesn't do that, you've designed it badly.

    They could fix the whole problem by simply adding a minimum number of rounds to the percentage: specify them in the format "Mag x 1.0y (min +z)" and add whichever of the two is greater. You're welcome, Trion.

    (edit to add: They used to be like pistol and detonator mag bonuses until Trion started screwing around with them.)

    they made them as they are so that people wont get a sawed off shotgun that has three or fours shots because they would be overpowered , its a shame that they cant differenciate between the three types off shotguns , they should nerf the sawed off shtogun mag bonus all together and then reinstitute the old shotgun mag bonus

    Nerf for sawed offs didn't really work, because they're still overpowered.

    If mag size = 2, do not roll for mag bonus.
    Common roll = +# mag
    Uncommon roll = +# mag
    Rare roll = +# mag
    Legendary roll = +# mag
    ^ This in whatever programming language Defiance uses.

    Somebody tags me up close with both barrels of a Sawed off, I expect to be cut in half. Somebody does it from across the room - I take damage and keep fighting back.

    Sawed off mags are not supposed to be quantity addition, they're supposed to be speed reloaders.

    i agree crasher but thats not what were talking about they need to fix the mag rolls on shotguns

    No, they can differentiate between sawed-offs and other shotguns just fine. In fact sawed-offs have a different set of possible bonuses than other shotguns. Shotguns used to have flat mag bonuses, but Trion thought that made them too powerful and nerfed them. While it might have been true that some pump shotguns were too good, the nerf definitely created a bad situation. These x1.05 mag rolls can really be rage-inducing.

    Anyway, I believe Trion has said they were aware of the problem, and would change these bonuses at some point. Can't find the source of that anymore though, hope it wasn't a wet dream.

Well, that's a situation that is both hilarious and incredibly frustrating at the same time. Get an old refurbished PS3 bro, pick up a copy of Defiance for it, and you'll see what I'm sayin.

    Agreed with the speed reloader part though. So how about this.
    Rolls for Sawed-Off
    Stop reload rolls at reload = 1.0
    Common roll = x# reload
    Uncommon roll = x# reload
    Rare roll = x# reload
    Legendary roll = x# reload

    Reason I say stop reload rolls when reload reaches 1.0 is because they're already overpowered guns that can one shot close up (not every pellet has to hit either, and some people know how to make them one-shot from farther) so don't make them more OP by giving them reloads of less than a second.
